It has come to this 😮, selection by sentiment and past glories not MERIT.

The basis for national team selection is consistent top quality performances in club and league, CURRENTLY.

KC has not made the bench for Leicester City because of injury he is recovering and may declare himself fully fit. But that's a big risk 😞

I said earlier Sadiq had no business being selected to play when there are other players better and also fit and consistent. Look 🙈 he has had to back injured after friendly game.

KC will not be match fit in the first place.

Secondly, what is the level of his form. It was declared here that KC ( clinical marksman) is going to destroy the Championship. 20 games later the opposite seems to be the case, Championship 🏆 is destroying him.

Last season he scored 5 goals and the season before that 4 goals in the EPL , for me that's not good enough to call him the Messiah that will save us.

The NFF need to stop 🛑 looking for personal deals and select the best players available.

I would look at Chuba Akpom ( 12 games and 6 goals) is not amazing but satisfactory , he also is adapt at playing as a SS. I would get into midfield Fisayo and the attacking options of Tella as well.

We need players in form not struggling for form or coming back from injury, this is a grueling, physically draining tournament your squad depth pivotal for success.

Players like Musa should not be there no passengers needed.
Bros you really fall hand on this KC matter o.

Kelechi is an important tool in the Super Eagles if you don't know... His creativity, shooting accuracy and finishing is an "essential commodity" for the SE, take it or leave it bro. (although he has his cold days too)

Abeg who be our current best forward after Victor as per performance? No be KC?

You also mentioned last season being unimpressive, fine ... But im dey do well for SE abi no be so? Was he not one of our best players at the last Afcon when the highly revered Awoniyi failed to turn up?

Who was the hero against the Egyptian team that was popularly expected to tear us apart? Was it not him?

You just focus only on club football waaa like that no be so na.

And he was also confirmed to be match fit against our second game so what's the fuss for?

I think Musa is actually needed in the team going to Ivory Coast. This team lacks leaders and inspiration. And not that he's no more active in football.

Musa, Ekong and Omeruo, I think they needed to be included for their experience. When you remove those three you'll see that majority of our players are newbies... Either their first or second stinct in AFCON.

Not just that nff are incompetent and na the guy and mikel when he was still on the team

They foot the bills why peseiro no complain about salary reduction

We go just open wahh for here without contributing anything positive incentives to the team

Musa does what Nff cannot

If it were left to just nff these guys would be staying in a 3 star hotel and use 2002 Boeing 400 for flights

OGN reports Sadiq Umar is injured. As it stands, only Osimhen is available to play CF tomorrow.

This means the coach can't play 4-4-2. Has to be 4-3-3 with Osimhen as lone striker.

Musa would probably need to come in for Osimhen at the CF position in the second half. Let's hope he still has it in him.

Judging by the number of injuries to key players sustained in the SE training camp, I think Peseiro and his assistants need to re-evaluate their training methods. The players aren't being protected enough.

As it stands now, only Osimhen, Chukwueze, Lookman, Moses Simon and Ahmed Musa are available for selection for tomorrow's game.

3-5-3 or 4-3-3 seem to be the best formations to play considering our available forward options.

Sanusi and Bright Osayi might just be starting as wing backs tomorrow also.

If somebody has to buy a ticket to watch a football game, then what is tjr essence of the sport going digital? They should just reverse back to the olden days when nobody knew the existence of several teams and it's players..

It surprises me that our fans still think we have the best personnel to win afcon right now,

It surprises me that our fans don’t rate friendly matches

It surprises me that our fans are quick to look away from obvious shortcomings and weak links

It surprises me that our fans think we have a world class team

It surprises me that our fans are ok with our wingers being the most inconsistent players on the team.

It surprises me that after our loss to ghana till date we still have no #10

It surprises me that nobody is talking about how our play style is all over the place 2000s kick and follow style of play.

I’m not here to criticize but make afcon come first.

Pinnick is dumb if he truly ask mouriho to recommend a coach for the super eagles.

Does Mourinho know the super eagles playing style ? Their strengths and even past playing pattern.

Imagine meeting someone like Pep that don't even know of the super eagles to recommend a coach for the super eagles....

Pinnick is not dumb for that decision

Was man city playin a hybrid of tiki taka and ghen ghen press before guardiola the answer is no

But look at them now

Our national team doesn’t train together much to perfectly gel

We don’t have a pattern like brazil dribble and create miracles

Spain knock knock knock

Germany press press press

France= raw talent and power

Our pattern has always been jam body, forward pass and individual brilliance.

So asking a coach to instill his own style with such amount of time is a recipe for disaster

We have the personnel

442 when out of possession
424 when attacking
4222 daimond when holding with iwobi/aribo at the top of the key

Notice how the formation has two blocking No4s at all times

This simple formation will take us far if the coach choose it and the players can implement it

Good News is; not every poster on this thread has lost hope or expecting team to fail in Ivory Coast. I am still very much optimistic that Eagles will make us proud and do fanstically well.

Una dey cook JPes now, I hope we gonna praise him if the team eventually makes us proud? Or we gonna hail players and still criticize him?!

True fans never lose hope or give-up. Manchester United ain't doing well, signing wrong players left and right, making wrong decisions up and down, yet REAL fans are still behind the team.

Its free to wail and expect nothing from the team, but allow the Optimists breathe, don't suffocate us with your pessimism.
