Its simple , u did not plan well , i have friends …immediate family that had a plan before traveling , they are doing very well and even more family members are going to join them , you need to have a plan … have a plan and ask questions from
Experienced people … work on your plan till you can see a headway in your plan then move …. Its easy

Thbaks very much. Nigerians will always blame you for everything bad to happens to you once you are away

Fullclub take note. Stop complaining there are no jobs. Now, this person has dropped another tip for you. Take advantage. Just in case you didn't see it, I have highlighted it boldly for you.

Those places he mentioned is unrealistic... Can you be schooling in Lagos and be going for jobs in Sokoto. Whereby by flight you will spend 100 pounds goinand coming and by train 45 pounds and you spend 5 hours going and coming or by bus you spend whole day. How will you meet up with school?
If you missed school or taking attendance then the immigration will be contacted

Man, try and follow men wey know road. Many persons have given you hidden advice. Read between the lines and fight your way through. Sharon1 even told you something about your CV, you are refuting every efforts people are trying to offer you. I have been reading through the thread and a couple of persons have dropped some golden tips but you are not just seeing them to take advantage of them.

Life is all about being smart and thinking out of the box. If you are from the trenches like us, as a normal Naija guy, you are supposed to be very very smart. We are known to be smart people. We no be ozuo people. Did you even read what sharon1 told you? What of the other guys that are giving you subtle tips? You ain't just getting it bro. You're too fixated on the there are no jobs mindset.

It might be that it's your mindset that's working against you. Try and be liberal and have an open mind. Be positive. Our thoughts always have a way to make us or mar us. Pls, go through the posts in this thread and give a try to those subtle tips some persons are giving you to land a job.

Which Cv? I have almost 8 cvs collected from various people.. You won't understand unless you are in this shit..
I was able to land a job after I did a forklifting certification which cost me over... Let me not mention.

So please stop attacking me. I did everything humanly possible and even the impossible I did.

grin even all those people that said I should contact them.... I did non respond to my mail

Unitil you find your self in a distance land you will know that no one has your time everybody are chasing either to renew their residential permit, or one immigration stuff or the other

Any update on your job search? Last I followed, a few people offered to help...I hope you or wife or you both have secured a job/jobs now..

grin in this obodo onyibo. Who wan help you grin even in churches

When you are in need you go understand that the only people you have are your family... Blood relative and no one else
Even 10 pounds no one will dash you here.

I landed a 20 hours forklift job after I did a certification that cost me a much... That certification in that field prevented others who don't have same certificate from applying.
So you can see that the job market is responding to demand and supply.

People came to attack me saying lie, lazy this that... Someone that gathered 15m in Nigeria without fraud is lazy.

Honestly since you are married you should consider childbirth in countries that can offer you citizenship after the child is born like Brazil and mexico than to suffer through the school route o

I am not surprised. Ever since one Indian dude with degrees from Caltech and Yale Business School went on Twitter seeking for jobs, only to return to Trinidad and Tobago, I know say na every man to himself. People quoted this guy's tweet asking him to send his CV and all, nothing comot. They offered assistance and well wishes, na lie! Bros returned home and returned to the US as a student. This time at Harvard. https://www.nairaland.com/7535720/nigerian-students-now-americans-how

In this life, na all man to himself, God to us all.

Are those countries offering tourist visas to Nigerians living in Nigeria?

If no, the best is to lock up on childbearing and plan for the children's education to good schools abroad.

Good luck to everyone involved.

You can access Mexico with a UK visa which is currently easy to get in Nigeria.

You're not lazy, you just don't seem to have the right mindset to succeed here. May be in Nigeria, your mindset works.

This person below is one the persons that entered uk recently and is already holding down 2 jobs.

Go to the uk immigrant thread and see people getting information and making moves, many of the recent immigrants.

Not sure you have taken time to connect with anyone there or asked questions there, rather stay here writing your book of lamentations.

The uk mortgage thread has awoken from dormancy and is now one of the top thread in the travel section. Check many of the active members, they are recent immigrants also.

You think they all had it far better than you?

Every aboki to his kettle, I leave you to continue in your ways

Your initial response to my comment on diasporan was an insult. Rather than give it back to you I chose to follow you. Here we are today

My first business collapsed with ban on wheat importation. Learning from my first experience that government policies decides the faith of businesses that relies on importation,I started another business that has more local content at a period when government regulations were not that stiff

I did not relocate because it has never been in my plan. But when I see people selling everything off to relocate,I understand the system has disappointed them

So,you should be calming down for those that relocated

Most anti-japa posts on Nairaland na because the thing never touch them or maybe they feel they're immune to the harsh economic conditions. grin

I honestly wish people would live and let live on this japa matter.

Mental preparation, resilience, networking, research, proper planning, finances, unlearning and relearning: very important ingredients on any japa journey.

Happy that the Op has gotten a job at least. Tomorrow na when the Op starts making bank, days like these will become distant memory only thing be say him no go update us. grin

It's good to know that things have take a positive turn for you. Many people are too fixated on themselves and don't remember others in time of need. 2023 was a very funny year for me grin grin grin and it's good sometimes to experience bad times so that you can sift through your friends.

Nigerians pay thousands of foreign currency to schools in other countries just to japa when they can pay 2% of the huge amount countries like UK,CANADA,AMERICA e.t.c ask them to pay for samething in their home country.
Many people happen to earn that huge amount from the same job in this Nigeria and they still want to sell all and japa.
After all this Japa, many will still want to come and build same properties they have sold. Its like Nigerians are made to put themself in a reverse gear
