It's because we take our health for granted that we condone some actions that are clearly inimical to our well-being.

My thought exactly.Two people at the top could have airlifted that with a strong rope .This is not a show of strength rather it is a show of stupidity. A misstep on the ladder could easily have send him six feet below the ground level.
