Our biggest problem after the goal keeping is scoring goals. It's not even as our midfielders don't create chances. They create in abundance every game but scoring the goals is now the problem. And given the type of strikers we parade, this should not even be happening. While our lack of goals have made us to see the visible cracks in the team, it's also a source of concern that we can't score. This is not even a coaching problem. All our matches starting from Saudi, Zimbabwe and Lesotho were easily winnable matches if only we converted even a quarter of the chances.

Bring pep gardiola to coach nigeria, these guys are wasteful infront of goal. Going forward I don't want to see Sanusi on the pitch again. Chewing gum like a kid.
If Osimhen won't sit up bench him for any available serious striker. Yeye

Excellent observation! With the way the keeper was rushing out just curl the ball to the left. He still needs work on his finishing technique for sure.

Mujtahida:

Osimhen has poor technical ability. Easy way to tell, he hardly scores curlers. From that position he missed that pass, Mbappe or Iheanacho will curl the ball into the other side of the net

Over reliance on a sole striker caused us this game. Why should the wingers be passing to a Striker all the time?
Why didn't Chukwueze shoot when he had the opportunity? And on that still gave a wrong pass to Osimhen!
This shows lack of confidence and this is the driving force Why they loose focus on the final third. Except for players like Lookman and Boniface who can't play SS to any Striker because they too aim for the goal also, you can call it selfish but it builds there confidence and this also makes them lead roles in their respective clubs. That's the reason why it's hard for them to partner Osimhen.
The coach should allow players to take opportunities if they are in the position to do so otherwise the opportunity will capitalize on your target and kill off that player with every opportunity.

they may be playing to instructions

All you saying that our defense was decent should remember we played against the almighty Equatorial Guinea who paraded a natural right back from the Spanish third division as a striker

Peseiro's streak of terrible results feels kind of spiritual. Although he's a low grade tactician anyay, but the Super Eagles have never been this wasteful in front of goal. 5 shot on goal and an xg of 2+

11 attempts on goal with just one buried!šŸ˜Æ

And who noticed that the wingers and fullbacks didn't work hamd in hand? No supourt that's also a problem.

On several occasions we got a player attacking the flanks but left isolated by his teammates with no support from the fullback or the closest player by running through the flanks, and before you know it two to three opponents are on him, thereby spoiling the attack and giving possession away.

Kudos to Alhassan. He was all over the pitch, covering alot of grounds and getting in the way of the Guneans. I hope he makes the next match because I don't trust Iwobi and co.

Iwobi- No workrate but reasonably intelligent

Onyeka- High workrate but no intelligence.

Alhassan had both and this kind of got him overworked.

And I feel for Victor for that embarrassing miss. That reaction.. Don't be downcast bro, You ddint win APOTY by luck. you're still the world class that we know.

But just know that the World is watching so you need your hundred percent.

Other teams should judge him with today's game at their own peril

I was mad at him like everyone else but he's also human aftererall. Luke someone said shit.happens.

I'm sure he's still that beast known all over the globe. He'll surely bounce back.

I think If Nacho played today we might've won. And things would have been more easier for Osimhen.

because it's sao tome doesn't really matter. Ronaldo has the highest international goals of all time and the bulk of his goals have come from European minnows but nobody removed his goals against minnows when they are doing record keeping. We cannot remove the goals against sao tome just because of their ranking.

I say this again. We set up Iwobi to play the deep lying midfield role which he clearly struggles to do for long periods. Nwakali, who could be the best African player with this specific skillset is left at home because he earns $5 per month? Someone make it make sense to me. It's not adding up
Iwobi might struggle with playing from deep but not in this match. He comfortably threaded splitting passes from deep today. If his passes had been converted, you'd not be so confident to post this today.

By the way chukwueze was the poorest player I've seen so far in this round of matches. He played like those players you have "unattached" next to their names on Wikipedia.
Horrible performance to put it mildly.

But Equatorial G. has had the same first XI for the same 3 years. Team chemistry will always trump having a spattering of ā€œtop namesā€.

At the end of the day, they are still professional players. The gap in pure ability from say Prem vs 2nd division in Spain isnā€™t as big as some people think.

I hope Komekn will not come for your head with the bold

That even makes it worse for several reasons.
If he hadn't buried the chances we got from the beginning of the tournament, would we have gotten to the semi? One thing leads to another. Instead of 3pts we are talking about a draw.

Alhassan Yusuf was not invited to this tournament, but I watched him play above average. I wonder why he was never included in the list? This shows the corrupt system in NFF
The coach had terrible results so far. Never in the history of SuperEagles Zimbabwe , Lesotho and EQ Guinea scoring us first and games ended with a draw. This is African football there is no way one or two home based would have done better.. Players kept wasting chances,

How about the turnovers? Can you say he dictated the tempo of the game the way a real deep lying midfielder does? A one off pass here and their doesn't cut it. He's supposed to have absolute control of the game. Watch Rodri or Toni kross
