What are the mining?
I think it's to early to start saying stuff on media, till a proper investigation has been carried out

If actually they incident was caused by illegal miners, then those involved and those sponsoring them, should face justice

Your first paragraph makes sense but the second one is unnecessary....

I wonder where or what to mine in Ibadan....bodija for that matter

Moreso, if they were to be illegal miners, why should they keep explosives in a residential area instead of a place close to the site(s) they illegally mine?

How do they move the explosives to site (s) on their illegal mining days without the security operatives finding out or accosting them...is security system that bad in this country undecided

So, people move explosives around in ibadan there and other parts of the country freely without any Intel from the secrete police or the other relevant personnel....smh!

It's only idle sagging and dread boys they have Intel on.....we had a country lipsrsealed

Intel matters to me than the kangaroo court and judgement they will set up for the unreasonable criminals that kept explosives in residential area... No wonder someone suspected that it was a terrorist attack

How many more explosives do we still have around where people live in this country, kano, kebbi, enugu, warri, Abeokuta, saki etc...

The truth is, nowhere is safe in this country

Other countries of the world are now so comfortable and secured that all they worry about is what to identify as, in the legislations all you hear everyday is about people that identify as women, Zi, he, x, etc. But here in Nigeria hmmm!

Go and bring out the remaining dead bodies na, it was clearly stated in the article that search and rescue were still ongoing.

What is your age? I beleive you still small or never understood the Nigerian government or media. Governor said two people died, just multiply that two by 10.

You are talking as if Nigerian government ever said the truth.

I thought as much it's does quarry people blasting rocks,
The FG needs to ban any form of rock mining in the state ASAP for further notice.

Unfortunately that is the end. We will not see anyone or a name. There names will remain "illegal miners". What a country

it could be those dynamites used in breaking rocks etc.

Someone said it yesterday when the news started after the explosion.

But we really need to know full details and full detailed investigation.

Whatever, that’s probably the case.

No terrorist will plant bomb in a residential area. The market is not far away.

The behavior of the blast is not how a bomb usually behave. Ordinarily, I believe it’s gas. But explosive meant for mining is also plausible.

If you believe it was gas you probably didn't hear the sound

Mr. Governor, please, note that it is better to wait till conclusion of your investigation before bringing illegal miners into the picture. Armed robbers also use explisives to break into banking buildingss. You might be right, or wrong, but thorough honest investigation must be carried out and concluded first.

Based on what I heard about the blast radius, shockwave, vibration and sound...
It is possible the blast is from under the ground.
If it were a surface explosion the effect won't be as strong as vibration felt at Apata and other far places...

So likely a stockpile of explosive kept in underground chambers denoted. Most likely illegal miners stockpile...

The truth would be revealed from the state of ground zero of explosion.

You have a point.

BRO, restructuring can never work in Nigeria, I remember when Shetima said it live and I quote "restructuring my foot" best bet is for every indigenous people go back to their root, we were structured before in the 70s Southern, western and norther region but the military came and destabilized everything to form 12 states. if it can't work then, it cannot work now, even the Fulanis disguising as Hausas who were never part of Nigeria won't accept it whole heartedly.

In my opinion eh, if it was a gas explosion from the station, it would’ve been more deadly.

The shock waves may not even have travelled that far but you see the immediate vicinity? They’re toast there.

My brother’s neighbor was a victim of this as an undergrad.

Dude’s gas was leaking and he didn’t know. The resulting effect not only shattered his windows and others, he suffered a large degree of burns all over his body and there was no fire
