omo, the midfield tight. No go area.
The Canal+ commentary I was following in French said "Quel de défense du Nigéria??
grin
The midfield was full of bodies and the defense moved forward a bit such that any attempt to put the ball in, prrrrrrrrrrrrr offside

This guy hasn’t realized that, he is a professional footballer. His eye go soon clear. I remember warning osimhen regarding missing easy chances few years ago and people ignored until now

I doubt Aina would have been able to keep Zaha quiet as easily as he did Boga

lol! If you are experienced in football analysis, you would know that the Super Eagles is the only team playing tournament winning football. We played spectacular football last AFCON what happened? The Senegalese and the Egyptians with their porous football got to the finals.
This is not EPL or Sunday School league, my dear!

The Super Eagles is playing this to win not entertain, however, you will get your entertainment against Guinea Bissau!
The rest of the tourney you would see a compact counter attacking team!

Osimhen is not even 60% yet. Just dey look!
Rockyrascal:
you are spot on but we are not that good either.

We should have won by at least 2 nil!
Marjoribanks:
Ajayi is not playing DM. Ajayi and Bassey will play in a back 3 but will step into the DM role stoping Fofana from shooting both on the right and the left side. Both can also step to either wing to cover for both Aina and Sanusi against Boga and the other winger. Lookman Osimhen and Chukwueze speed will unsettle both their slow midfield and defense. We will get a lot of chances. We have to put those chances away.

It is such a beautiful formation that should give us nothing less than 2nil victory. I am confident.
Paserio is listening!

Good evening house!
I don't know if anyone saw the reaction of A.Musa with one of JPes assistant during the game after Simon Moses was substituted into the game.
What could be the issue?

I saw that scenario, Musa was visibly angry with the inteodution of Simon. We have seen the best of Musa and so he should allow the coaches to do their job.

Meanwhile, I have the feeling that one of Jpes assistants is the unseen hand behind the recent change of formation, selection of personels and the subtitutions.
The tactical approach of today's game is simply top notch. Playing Bassey in the midfield/defence could be our greatest revelation of this tournament.

Kudos to the coaching crew.

As for me ola Aina and Calvin Bassey was man of the match against ivory coast. Ola Aina turn to prime cafu against Ivory coast yesterday and Calvin Bassey turn to prime madini in defense for Nigeria. Nice tactics from Jp

We have been suffering and waffling about with Uzohos and the likes when we have competent hands who can do the job.

Switch up Uzoho with Nwabili, we would have qualified for the last World Cup. But you know, Uzoho trained at Deportivo and Nwabili was in the Nigerian league.
Never again!

This 343 or 541 formation was more balanced than the 424 formation. But, we shouldn’t use such formation against African minors like Guinea bissau. We should only use such formation against team with superb attacking talents or big teams

Impressive win. A lot of positives, Aina doing what he does best, glad to see lookman amongst the best performers.
We should be challenging the title with the talent in our squad and most especially kudos to peseiro and the players but bassey was the man of the match.

When not In possession

Know your formations well
Did you see the possession percentage lol
We played 5 - 4 - 1 for the most part
Guess what, Amokachi said it too
You are the one that doesn’t know what you’re talking about
Watched the game twice already
Super Eagles can’t string passes together and came to defend
Grit & luck won us the game
That’s all
