There are some cheap college that have been posted on this same thread you commented. Kindly go through it for your choices of college.
That being Said you can opt for PG in business administration course and explain in your SOp how this will compel you in your career and future engagement. Going with your family all depends on your financial capabilities along side with all thr dependent going with you. In other to be more strigent and having strong ties back home it's always advisable to apply alone whilst your husband joins you later. Either with Swop/kids(visit visa).

I didn't know anyone answered this my question as I gave up and left. Thanks so much, I appreciate your given time

I studied Business Admin, but I work as a product designer. I'm thinking of studying interactive media or animation, but I was told it is easier for me to get admitted into a business related course.

The business admin program you graduated from 10 years ago or there about shows that you have a long Study Gap.

To show career progression as a Product designer or if you have been into related jobs for the past 5 to 10 years , it's will be ok and convincing for a Canadian Visa Officer if you go for Post-graduate certificate programs such as UX/User Experience, Interactive media/animation etc. at Canadian colleges

But if there are Business Management components in your work experience, then you can go for a PostGraduate Certificate in a Business related program.

Advice pls.

Is it advisable to state my Master's degree when applying for my study visa for a 2yr graduate certificate?
I'm trying to avoid being overqualified?
If I don't state it when applying, is there a possibility that I can tender it in future?

It is WES verified and intend to use it when I get there. And it's relevant both to my experience and the grad certificate I'm applying for.

Thanks

I think you should state it and back it up with a strong SOP. I personally know of one that hadn't finished his MBA when he was submitting his application. He declared the in-progress MBA in his application, backed it up with some strong SOP, and eventually got his SP approved....to the glory of God.

Wifey and two young kids already secured Study permit in Canada. The other two old kids (ages 10 and 12) are with me in Nigeria. The plan is to allow the 10 years old to join mum later in Canada for her studies. Two options are available for me when I intend to apply for visitor visa:

1. Apply for visitor visa for myself and the 12 yrs, while the 10yrs go on study visa.

2. Apply for visitor visa for myself and the rest of the other children (12yrs and 10yrs). Then while in Canada, the 10yrs converts her visitor visa to study visa. The 12yrs will certainly be with me in Nigeria for now.

I have been really disturbed on the best option to take. I need gurus to help out please. @Lekiboboe, @Frankrbbn1 please advice. I know this is like your bread and butter grin
Any good advise is welcomed.
Thanks All.

Hello Heffalump,

Best to apply for a study permit for the children. However, you do not need to apply for the VV for the children again since they already secured the SP. The VV is concurrently processed with the SP. You can only apply for them if the VV expires before they enter Canada.

If you don't intend to come back to your economic activities until the end of your wife's programme, consider applying for the SOWP. For prospective applicants with kids, it's more convenient to apply for the SP for the children instead of the VV from the onset.

Hello Tomoarika,

Whether to disclose or misrepresent facts of non-disclosure of your highest qualification depends on your ableness to give convincing reasons as to why the decision to study for a PGC is paramount.

A reason could be that becoming an academic is not of any interest to you nor is it beneficial to your career as an industry professional. Why a Ph.D. or a 2nd Master's does not favour your professional development.

If your previous Master's is Course-based, it could be argued that the programme didn't cover some skill-nurturing aspects of your career areas adequately.

Given that a PGD/C is equal to Course-based teaching with different learning experiences and more focused in areas of industry-practice teaching that forms the necessity to choose the PGC, which will also consolidate your already attained Master's qualification. If you are unsure of writing a convincing and qualifying Statement of Purpose (SOP), chat with GCMSWriters on IG/X.

Note that the non-disclosure of your Master's qualification whether it is WES evaluated or not makes it void for future use, especially when it concerns Canadian immigration.

Hello Ide2012,

It is insufficient. Amount up to your first year LE is better. If possible, try as much that the total received sum doesn't make up a large portion of your sitting bank balance. It's dire to explain and provide supporting documentation for any lump sum.

Unless Your father should put it in writing the details of the property and that he is owner of the property, that you are his son and you are the caretaker of the property, signed and provide his ID/international passport...
And submit the documents of the property in visa application...

35k CAD * exchange rate + travel expenses

If you can put 30-35M you should be good to go.

Be sure to pay reasonable deposit for the school ooo. Cause having money and not paying reasonable amount for fee deposit can also raise suspicions

Hi did you apply from England?

Landing gist!!!
Live in Ontario !!!
To God be the glory, though the experience has been like a cat's peaceful slumber. Traveling with a family of five from England to Canada is no easy feat. We arrived in Ontario on January 12, facing a lengthy immigration queue at Toronto Pearson YYZ Airport due to limited officers.

In the queue, a kind individual noticed we had kids and assisted my wife, triggering a barrage of questions about our family, her academic history, and our plans for the kids' school enrollment. They even requested documents like the kids' previous school records, medical reports, and our marriage certificate. Eventually, they asked to see proof of funds on my wife's mobile app, fortunately, we had sufficient funds.

Lesson learned: always be prepared with ample funds, despite assurances that they won't ask for proof at the airport. Prepare for the unexpected.

Best wishes to all, and if you're a student at Caandore College in Brampton, feel free to reach out.

All the best to all the ppr waiters!!!
welcome to Bramptadesh.

It's yes. If your passport was requested, it means you have been approved. You will receive approval letter in your gckey account. You will submit your passport to where you did your biometric for stamping either in person or by any courier company. However, if you choose to submit yourself, you will have to book an appointment online. I just sent mine yesterday too to same Lagos. Is it detailed enough now?

Thanks @Justmellow.
You didn't understand the question asked exactly. You may kindly peruse again.

I have two sets of children here. The first set are 2 young kids, and have already secured SP with mom. No issues with this at all. The second set are equally 2 (10yrs and 12yrs), and are with me in Nigeria. The plan is to arrange for the 10yrs join mom later on SP. So, I'm considering VV for the 10yrs initially, then convert to SP while in Canada. For myself and the 12yrs, we are OK with VV. Hope you understand the contemplation here?

Hello Guys,

You don't get to read this quite often here, nevertheless, you may want to read this.

For those who have gotten their PPR, congrats to y'all. For those who are yet to receive their PPR, you will get it.

When coming to Canada, please get your shit together at the point of entry. Depending on the immigration officer that you will be meeting, they may be nice to you, while others will probably not be. Whatever tone they take with you, remain calm and answer to the best of your knowledge.
Please know the answers to simple questions, such as "What course are you studying?", "What is the name of your school?", "What's the duration of your course of study?", "When will you graduate (month and year)?", "where will you stay (address)?" - They may decide to call your contact should you say you will be staying with a friend - If you said Airbnb, please keep your receipt ready. If you did GIC, I'd suggest you log onto their Portal with your phone and have access to your transactions - be ready to show it.

As a JJC who is coming to Canada for the first time, please come with enough food items. Most airlines offer 23 x 2kg, so I'd suggest you have your clothing in one 23kg and food items in the other 23kg. No go pack cloth full everywhere, unless, of course, you carry better bar de come, otherwise na hunger go first kee u b4 cold and rent go use u play monkey post. Groceries cost o. Research abt Canada outlet (electric socket), if you ft get the appropriate adapter for Naija, I mean the one wey go match ur phone/laptop charger, carry am de come, e go save u a few dollars and waka around.

As per accommodations, you do not need to get here first before before looking for a place to stay. You can start the arrangements from Naija. I find kijiji dot com more secure. But Facebook is even cheaper but dem get plenty scammers. You can sublet a room from a student who is going for a co-op (internship) and may want to lease their room for a period of 4 to 8 months. Subletting is generally cheap, although some of them do inflate the prices of those rooms, but as naija pikin, always negotiate! If you are using Facebook posts to look for accommodations, do not pay until you arrive in Canada, and with your two legs and eyes, see the room. Please don't fall for a housing scam! If you are in doubt, always ask questions.

After getting your study permit at the Airport, ask a security person or a worker where you can get your Social Insurance Number (SIN). Remember to carry your luggage afterward.

Get a USD/CAD prepaid card from your bank in Naija, deposit some funds into it, and come with it. Or you can buy CAD from Aboki and come with it (Remember to check for fakes). No go carry USD enter here and come de change am to CAD for airport, their exchange rate is horrible.

Lyft (a rider app) is generally cheap (as compared to others) in my experience, you can download the app and book a ride to pick you up from the airport. There are also Uber and Airport Taxis, but I find them quite expensive.

The Nigerian community here is pretty much not as strong as our Indian brothers, but you will get to meet Nigerians who are quite good (and I don't mean carrying your burden or catering to your needs). You will also get to meet those who are aloof. If you meet a naija brethren here on the first day, you may think they are "feeling too big" but don't worry, you guys may soon become buddies. Always reach out, you just never can tell.

And don't worry, Nigerians de small for this country. Asians de run the streets, so no allow anybody tell you say pple dn full here, na lie, there's enough space for all of us. Depending on the Province wey u de enter, student work ft hard to get, especially in Ontario, you go suffer small oo, na y I de say, come with food (and money for rent, even if it for a few months b4 you find something doing) otherwise you might get discouraged, which may even lead to depression/break down.

Remember, do not take your eyes off the price!

I wish us success! And I wish us well!

Has anyone applied for a study visa with their family (spouse and children) and received approval? I know it's advisable to apply alone and have the family join you later. I just want to know if people do get approval at all.
