Hypocrisy. Will you also ban the manufacturing like the west? All other states need to do is to impose heavy tax on such plastics or products from Lagos state.

It's a good step on the right direction.

I guess this is rather coming late.

Nevertheless, implementation of the ban is what I look forward to see ..

We all need to support the government on this..

Take away packs have really caused enormous amounts of damage to our environment..

Imagine the blockage of our drainage system and depiction of the ozone layer when it's burnt 🔥🔥.

It won't still work, the only solution to the all Lagos wahala is to decongest Lagos by dredging of River Niger is the major solution.

How do people live, work and survive in Lagos is still a mystery to me.

Stop whatever you just started smooking

They should have given them timeline. In some African countries, they don't use polythene bag(nylon) to sell things, they rather use paper(a degradable material).

They should ban nylon too.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment & Water Affairs should calm down and take things easy. This is peoples solely source of income and I believe there should be time frame to this.

Calm down for what?

Livelihood that's destroying the environment.

So our government thinks it is smarter than the U.S govt? Even UAE are gradually phasing it out by introducing alternatives but 9ja everything is done abruptly! Anyways anything that amplifies the suffering of the people is always the main aim of the Nigerian governemnt so we need not be SHOCKED!

So what will mama put use to sell her food and pay her children's school fees?

There should be a timeline with an alternative in place.

You keep squeezing the necks of the citizens because you are emboldened by their cowardice after dividing them along tribal and religious lines.

Tueh!

Wrong policy, how can our society move forward.by this singular action, many jobs Will be lost as the company will Stop production

Can't they weight the pros and cons before taking any decisions or is it a vindictive action

Lagos state government could have established recycling industries to recycle this foam and plastic cans and you will be surprised that it won't be found littering all over the place

It will also create jobs and employment for the people

These materials can be recycled for the production of chemicals and there are companies in Nigeria that recycle such wastes to chemicals. BASF is one of them

Government should be more creative in their approach. Sustainability no be by gra gra. Consult professionals before making such decisions

They can make the decision ... which is good ... but must give time for sourcing and delivery of biodegradable replacement containers and to phase out the plastic containers in stock. If it's a one man decision ... then I can say he has no foresight ... but I'm sure more than one came to that de ision to ban it overnight. Are they all that shallow? ... orna bunch of sissies that go along with what one person says? Clowns everywhere.
