September to September is 13 months. August is correct!

The payment ends in August. So the next date to pay is Sept 17.

you post is not clear
i believe you are new in the compound

what date was written on your receipt?

when i packed into my compound, i paid May 24th but i told the landlord clearly that the receipt should reflect from June 1st even though i packed in June 6th
it is what is on your receipt that matters

I have been staying here for 2years Nd it has been a norms to renew rent on the exact day of the date we made payment the following year but agreement rapidly change the beginning of this year...

So if he pays in August, he will repay another one in July and so on?

Don't be a cheat. It is September to September

Good day NL

Please don't air me. I paid my last rent in September, September 17th to be precise. When is my rent suppose to expire, is it not September the following year?

How come they are counting August?

If you do your birthday March 5, are you celebrating your next year birthday by February 5?
OR
When a new child is born on Monday and named Monday the following week, why didn't the naming be held on Sunday..

We calculate everything right but when it comes to rent, we draw the line?

Please come to my rescue and explain because I don't understand again.

When is my rent suppose to expire I need clarification. Thank you.

You are paying in September. That is the norms.

So if you pay August, when will you pay another one? July?
Re: Rent Issue! by ivolt: 12:11pm On Jan 23

I paid September 17 and what was written on the agreement is August...
It is what is written on the agreement that carries weight.
So, you rent is due by august.
You should have negotiated for the extension of the due date when
paying your first rent.

Don't you have tenancy agreement?

It is September to August, that's how we calculate it on all the properties we manage.

Do well to pay your landlord on time

If that is how you manage it, when will he pay the second rent?

September October November December January February March April may June July August..... Count and tell me how many months are listed here 🤐🤐🤐🤔👀👀

So if he pays in August, that means the following year he'll pay in July abi.

Nazgul:

This one month deficit calculation is mostly done by greedy barristers, caretakers or agents in charge of the property and not the landlord.

That's why it's always good to let them know before making payment that you'll be renewing your rent after 12 months and not 11. Eg if you make payment today 23rd January 2024, it should be due on 23rd January 2025 and not 23 December 2024.

If they refuse to agree with you that you'll be due on 23rd January 2024, tell them you're no more interested in the house and leave, they'll call you back to make payment.

If you just make payment without settling this issue, there's nothing you can do than to arrange their money by 23rd December 2024.

So just arrange their money by August for them, and sort it out before making your next payment

Of course, there is something you can do. That's because they can't force you to accept 11 months as 12 months.

change ni?
if ur payment is structured, there shouldn't be any problem

if u have been paying monthly, 6months or yearly, you shouldn't have any problem

again, your post is not clear

Oga August is correct

Sept to August is 12month

You are confusing yourself self with sept 17 date not knowing the agreement is saying sept 1 to August 30 now there is a fight over 1- 16th days

Finally check the tenancy agreement you signed that the referee

Note your tenancy does not start counting the day you made payment as people usually assume, the tenancy start counting on the date agreed and written on the receipt and on the tenancy agreement

Rubbish. So next payment will be July or the same August? Deluded folks

Imagine I can see so many people on this NL that always castigate whatever govt does, they complain like tomorrow no dey, abuse govt like kilode, common to calculate 12 calendar months they no fit, you see them saying Buhari no go school, Tinubu get fake results, see whole lots of arguments just to calculate 12 calendar month, September 2023 to August 2024 is 12 months while September to September is 13 month, so if you pay house rent for 1 year which is 12 months, the calculation will be from September 16, 2023, to August 2024 which is 1 year. I hope the Coconut brain people will be able to understand this.

Lol. We have to be specific about the date, that's the main thing. With this your calculation, we can correctly assume that you have never paid or accept rent in your life. Otherwise, you would have known that it has to be September 17th 2023 to September 16th 2024

The audacity of this empty-brained numbskull to call people dumb while being completely wrong.

September 17 2023 to September 16 2024 is how many months exactly? I want to see if there's hope for you or if you're a total lost cause.
Re: Rent Issue! by gerizzim: 12:29pm On Jan 23
17sept to anoda 17sept the next year is one calender year.

the landlord is not suppose to count frm sep1st to sept16 for you since you dint pack into the apartment as at dt period.

He is shortchanging you if he tells you your rent expires august the following year.

He can only say your rent expires the following year if you packed into dt apartment sept1st

16th September to 16th August .
That's 12months rent .
Count every 16th of the month after September till you arrive at 12months exact .
Your landlord is 100000% right. Do well to pay his rent on time .
