yea, that's actually what universities are. They are a place for advanced learning. Your comment is actually a pass mark.

Btw, I'm happy the East is now investing in private universities.
The first private university in Nigeria was established in the East

Liar, that was how they sold crap to us telling us private universities were mushroom schools back then, until I got to AFC, and did a bit of consulting that was when i realised that that private school guys are dominating at the top and they were just as good as the guys from federal schools

Cool environment. The 140 Jamb cut off mark is no no!! Just too poor.
Should be moved to 160.
Polytechnics are not even accepting 140.

It's not about moving it..

If there is high influx of applicants then definitely the threshold will be high

Enugu govt should go and help the guy do road and pavement around the buildings and grass, before people go begin treat am as toilet.

The chairman try. At the end of the day, it is a business avenue for him. As much as it is philanthropic, it is a business for him.

I respect his effort, but let us not loose sight. Enugu govt should go and build roads there, all the way to the main road. Na only Nigeria, where no one helps you when you do something this big. It is until he starts doing criminal activities that all these so called leaders will ask him if he needs any assistance.

The SE needs to cleanse itself from incompetence, greed, criminality, stark naivete, ignorance, and arrogance. We can and should do better.

While I commend the owner of the University for thinking it wise to establish this Institution, I am skeptical on the standard or quality of education that will be delivered. I sincerely hope that same business model used in running Peace Mass Transit will not apply here. I mean where lives will not matter and the enentire focus will not be on the profit thereof.

Tertiary Education is not for the poor
Even in the Developed world

How the poor get educated overseas are through sound academic performance in post primary or via scholarship from the institution, Government or rich individuals

Top Schools like Oxford, Cambridge, London school of Economics, imperial college, Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT etc
There school fees in naira is over 100million per session

The poor go there if they are academically sound.
Example Barack Obama and His Wife went to Harvard, but they were poor, but sound academically so scholarship helped them

Clean structures but where are the learning facilities in accordance to the #21st century ref. Still plenty theory but no practical hence adding more to the labour market rather than creating employment through professional skills acquired while learning a degree.
That's why many final year student always acquire there machine projects from outside school and present it as project defense but can't make such machine themselves for the market to buy.

Kemi, cleanse your heart. It is full of hatred.
American, British and Canadian universities all invest in advertising
Even Coca Cola advertises. So, why should a new school avoid doing that?

Education has always been for the rich right from the beginning. Only that govts do provide subsidy to make govt schools affordable. If you doubt meet a professor and ask him to teach you and see him bill you 10k per day for lessons alone. The poor have vocation centers to learn handwork.

My only concern is security, the owners should be proactive and don't wait until something happens, with all the issues of herdsmen and bandits, they should ensure there's adequate security.
