Police Accused Of Demanding ₦250k Bribe From Kidnapped Victims’ Family In Abuja by MadeINchenzen2(op): 6:18am On Jan 24, 2024

Popular TV talkshow, Reality Radio and TV Talk Magazine narrated how a family was asked to pay N250,000 to the police before they could get any assistance to rescue their loved ones who were held hostage by kidnappers in Mpape, a suburb of Abuja.

According to the presenter who was revealing the information, they managed to raise N100,000, which they offered to the police, hoping that they would swing into action and track down the kidnappers.

However, to their dismay, the police advised them to negotiate directly with the kidnappers and pay whatever ransom they demanded.

The police assured the family that they would pursue the kidnappers after the victims were safely released.

This alleged act by the police reflects the corruption that plagues the country, especially in the face of the rising spate of kidnappings for ransom.

The police never disappoints in matters of demanding and accepting bribes.

The patriotic zeal for the job has been sacrificed for the allure of self aggrandizement.

The rot in the force rises up to the top hierarchy and only an "excision biopsy" can rid it of the putrefaction.

If you believe Nigeria will ever work again, believe me your ancestors are ashamed of you in the land of the dead.

They can't believe their descendant is a monumental fool, they are totally disappointed in your life.

If that is true then it shows Nigerian Police are still in the habit of stylishly requesting for consultancy fee. Like they are the middlemen to banditry transaction to ransom proceeds.
When the victim get released after ransom payment they will now be claiming that they rescue.
