This Professor left his comfort zone in the US to come to this hell to die in a most unfortunate manner. Kai. If he had stayed back in the US, he'd still be alife. Very unfortunate country. If you are carrying any kind of firearm, I'll gladly give you a 1 mile gap. Just like that, the professor is gone and deposited in a godforsaken morgue.
Being around a crowd in this country is very risky. Being around security forces carrying guns is even riskier. The way they will handle you if you unfortunately get shot go shock even the devil. Nigeria is really cursed.

He gun shot at the leg shouldn't kill that quickly if they bad rushed him to hospital immediately or done enough to stop the bleeding. Am sure that as usual, they went after the gunman and not after saving the Prof life. Its pathetic

You are right, really pathetic.

These are some of the reasons I don’t attend parties, or go to gatherings, or public events where I am not totally in control.

What’s the point of asking local security to fire in the air?
What’s the point.

And the foooooolish mob, instead of killing only the security guard, why didn’t they also kill the man who asked the security guard to fire in the air

Because he was a prince i told someone about 4 years ago that Nigerians are f$$$ish people.

That bloodthirsty people killed the accidental killer? Is that what isn't adding up?

Most of these local vigilante were not properly trained on how to use the gun, both technically, physiological and emotionally

You can't be drunk or over zealous and be handling a weapon, it will cause damage.
It happens sometimes within the nigerian armed forces.

This was no accident believe me

They wrote politician in his title.

Unfortunately, one of the bullets struck the Professor, resulting in his death, and the enraged mob subsequently killed the security guard.

Security personnels in this country are often careless with their weapons.

He died after being shot and the security guard was killed by the mob, dangers of jungle justice. The prince that ordered the gun salute walk free. As usual, investigation is ongoing that will amount to nothing.

The first suspect is the prince that ordered the shooting. And why did they kill the shooter? Looks like they are hiding evidence.

It also baffles me that someone died from loss of blood when he is not alone when the incident happened. Why don’t they stop the bleeding immediately? Even soldiers are surviving gun shot to the legs on a battlefield, rather than a man surrounded by idle people.

Mtchew.

Varies on which artery the bullet hit.

There are certain arteries on the leg that if they are hit, wahala go dey.

Something is wrong with the whole incident. Farewell shots are usually fired into the air, and how could the bullet kill the professor? Considering the poor quality of the guns that our security officers are using, this seems almost impossible. Perhaps an assassin shot at him at the same time. There is a need to investigate the son who organized the farewell shots and those who killed the security guard instantly. I think it was a cover-up.

FIring gun into the air is still unsafe...what goes up would come down..and people have died or been injured by 'celebratory gunfire'

So sad.
Poor cultural education.

Now, should an individual be in possession of arms apart from the government forces?
The whole thing from the west to the third world is anarchious and stupid of a world of 21st century

How i hate indiscriminate shooting
and you think its ordinary? Coincidence with spiritual force. Ask that professor whether he do fervent prayer regularly and he will laugh over . Ask him whether he got pastor or Alfa who pray for him day and night especially for this travel plan trip to Nigeria and he will say NOT REALLY if not God would have shown his people calamity that would happen in the future and what can be done to avert it. Death na strong thing, once you died, you are not coming back again. Anything else be can retrieve if lost but once you lost your life ...

Always make sure your hands are clean to the top.

If you escape, your innocent children will not escape.

This is a matter of nemesis, it waited for him to return to his own home and land before striking at the victim. I am certain the evil was done in that same land.

Let us do what is just and fair to others in all our dealings, or else, we shall also share in that pain now or in the future.

When the king’s son wanted to bid his guests farewell, he ordered the local security to fire guns to the air, as a gesture but unfortunately, one of the security’s guns was facing down, instead of firing to the sky, he fired the bullet downward, the bullet hit Professor on his leg, he fell, before we could rush him to the hospital he had lost a lot of blood
This is what you get from ill mannered, undertrained gun handlers. How come your gun is facing downwards and you still pulled the trigger? He was probably over dosed on jedy or small leafe.

Secondly what is the essence of shooting in the air. You're not in the parade ground. TH you're not even a uniform personnel. That was how i lost a bro who made it big after school and decided to come back home only to be killed by same policemen he gave money beyond their wildest dreams. In the process of celebrating him he was killed instanta. There should be laws against the indiscriminate use of police/ security firearms for undue publice display and the penalties should be very stiff. See how a promising man was cut off at his prime cry

This shxt happens every week in lekki, when all these Nigeria celebrities are leaving night clubs, that's how their escort keep raining bullets, not minding it's a residential area.
