Teams like CIV,Mali,SA,DRC,Gui will be praying for Nigeria to be kicked out since our high Ranked peers are out. If Angola wins(Godforbid 🤦🏽‍♀️) the remaining countries will fancy their chances of winning…Like this now they all see Nigeria as the biggest threat in this tournament.
CIV will not wanna meet 9ja
SA will not wanna meet 9ja
Mali will not wanna meet 9ja
Capeverde will not wanna meet 9ja(Although those ones will be priding that they are the portugal of africa, so bring on 9ja😃)
these 4teams has seen shege in the hand of Nigeria in the last 10years
grin angry we can safely say that the entire continent want NIgeria out of the tournament, Ghanaians and Cameroonians obviously want NIgeria out, while the others see NIgeria as the biggest hurdle to them winning the trophy

It seems we have been sleeping on the football rivalry between the North African countries. Go to the Morocco /SA highlights video on YouTube and see Algerians celebrating like crazy. One of them said he will congratulate the Southies for 50 years nonstop😂😂😂.

If not for language barrier, footballing banter with North Africans for sweet die. Those guys are very humorous and passionate with their bantering.
Algerians and Moroccans don't see eye to eye on the political front. So that waters down into football.

How is this a bad thing?

80 percent of the team play together day in day out.

They know every little detail of each other
Not saying it is bad but it will improve them the more.

At the root core, it's political.
At least our banter with Ghana is not political just friendly (after 1982) but Morocco and Algeria have been at loggerheads politically.

In case of any injury to Osimhen, can we really rely on Onuachu to lead the lines because it seems the only role he comes in to play is to help see off a match(time wasting) and not to score goals.

I've been studying the profile of the Angolan coach Pedro Goncalves. He's looking like the next Havre Renard. Here me out

He comes from the rich Sportin Lisbon lineage where worked as a scout and youth team coach. Trained some of the best young talents in world football like Bruma, Jao Mario, Eric Dier and Rafael Leao. At some point he was close to convincing Leao to play for Angola.

He worked his way up the ladder at Angola from an academy to U17 then U20s/23/Chan and now main team. He has successfully brought to fore a new generation of Angola players while instilling a fantastic style of play which we have witnessed. 6 of his U17 boys are in this AFCON.

His contract ends soon and he's obviously not renewing. At 47, I feel he's the ideal candidate to replace Peseiro, who could leave post Afcon. Young Portuguese coaches are very much in vogue. There are many of them working behind the scenes at Arsenal and Man city and Liverpool are hustling to get on in Ruben Amorin.

He should renew his contract with Angola

Yea.. Let me add that they lack X-factor too. They're too reliant on their home-based players.
well it's not as if they have foreign based players they refused to call. They have to make do with what they have.

Our imposing and compact style of football will see us over Angola. This Angolan coach may have done well for a team like Angola, but that doesn't mean he is good enough to replace Peseiro. Some coaches do better with managing relatively small teams.

Did you study mathematics in FUL because that is where Victor Ikechukwu Orakpo was said to have shone brightly before that Bayern tournament that made Tottenham and New Castle to hunt for his signature which his management turned down in favour of Nice to avoid the red tape rule

How good is the boy?
Very good. Can play anywhere upfront but he loves to bend it in with his right after one or two touches. Very sweet 1st touch. Doesn't waste time once ball lands at his feet. Also good with his head if he's not taking ck himself. Accurate long passes to opposite wing. The mendem love selecting him anytime it comes to evening or morning football.

I just thought I should put it out there, not that I trust we have brilliant HRs at NFF who can identify a next gen coach.
We can scuff at him working in Luanda but we all know some of the best coaches started their journey from relative obscurity. Someone identified Klopp at Mainz and made him the& manager at Dortmund. Mourinho started at Uniao de liera before Porto spotted his talent.
The Angola coach looks brilliant and he is one to watch out for wherever he goes.

You need to start following Luton Town matches bro. His other team mate, Chiedozie Ogbene has already played for Ireland.

AFCON 2021 QFs: Senegal, Egypt, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Cameroon, Tunisia

AFCON 2023 QFs: Nigeria, DR Congo, Angola, South Africa, Mali, Cape Verde, Guinea, Ivory Coast

Every single nation replaced by another. Unprecedented in major tournament history.

Best defence in the tournament.

Only one goal conceded and that was in our first game.

Consequent games have seen opponents starved of the 18-yard box, how much more a goal. Very compact defensive line. Angola may find it hard to penetrate that.

I'm still hopeful Nwabali will be back in time. He trained fully yesterday, the knee knock may be healed by Friday. Angola's #1 Goalkeeper will also not be in the lineup because of his red card, so, this may be good for us, as long as his second is not an Ejide to his Enyeama.

Oma Akatugba was on Twitter trying to sell some BS that Nwabali is not better than Uzoho, by the time they brought out clips of Uzoho gaffes, omo, abeg we cannot have that calamity in goal against Angola. Mbalalu abi wetin, go use am do nonsense.

One guy said that Uzoho has been to 3 different AFCONS and he has never been first choice at any of them. In 2019, Akpeyi had the #1 shirt over him, in 2021, Okoye had the shirt over him, and now, Nwabali is the preferred number one.

How have you done back up to 3 different goalies in 6 years if you're actually decent?
Oyinbo signee fit don sign the Werey Akatugba too 😂
