Hi guy,
A blessed morning/evening to y’all..

Please I need an answer to a question which is one of my close pal is planning to go on a week or two weeks vacation back home around April while is passport will expire by September and also as well his study permit. Though he already booked his renewal appointment But here is the question Are they going to take his old passport from him once he go to Ottawa for his passport renewal biometric or not.. because if they would take the old one from him then he can’t travel anymore since his visa is on the old passport.

Secondly, I heard someone said to me once that they can only start processing renewal of passport until the old one is submitted please how true is this ?

Please guys it’s urgent he booked his flight already going through Ottawa then to Nigeria

Thank you guys for all your answers and assistance
Appreciate it all

Good morning everyone,

Can anyone help me with how to get a master program in any Canadian university. I studied Animal science and biotechnology.
When i did my research all the sch I could get are always asking for references from and supervisors as part of the application requirements.

I just someone to guide me and put me through, i want to apply for September 2024 intake.

If you're going for a thesis based Masters (research based Masters) in Canada, all those things they asked you is compulsory most especially securing a supervisor before you apply. It is usually Mandatory by most Canadian Universities, and you can only do that via mailing (COLD MAILING) a Professor at a Canadian University you have aligning research interests with based on your Academic Background.

Also note that, in most cases as mentioned on the Admission Requirements of Canadian Universities for a Masters degree (most especially Thesis-based Masters), you need to have a Minimum of 2nd Class Upper and good grades (GPA) in your Last two years in the University.

For the application process check the Admission section of the school website and you would see information and guides on how to apply.

Can anyone help with this? I am also in the same situation. My Primary Visa office is RROC while Nairobi is Secondary. Is there any reason why applications are transferred to RROC?

Applications get sent there when the visa officer needs to liaise with the International Network. Program Managers at the RROC usually have better local knowledge (usually language related) and they help VOs verify required information

A new passport cannot be issued unless the old one is cancelled.
The best thing is to postpone travel or postpone the passport renewal.
One must give way.
Thanks

Good morning everyone...

I really don't know what to do any more . I applied for study permit on 11th November, 2023. My medical was passed dec 13th 2023. Uptill now there has been no update from IRCC. My application is almost 12 weeks now.

I have sent series of emails and webform and the response is always . My application is undergoing processing. On Monday I got another reply that it is with Rapid response office in Canada.
Is there any thing I can do at this point please? Kindly share...

Mine was processed from November to march. So do not panic it is not abnormal but it can frustrating, what you can do is to locate the MP of the area where your school is located and email them about it.

Please guys I need responses as his flight can still be cancelled or delayed…

Morning my ogas,

Please I want to book flight from LAGOS to Halifax directly, so I saw a flight that suit my pocket on trip app, it's a long hours, but I don't mind. The flight moves from Lagos to Casablanca, then from Casablanca to Montreal YUL and from there to Halifax.

I am flying for the first time and don't know much in this area.

1, I want to know if I will be needing transit visa if I book this flight?

2, Which port of entry will I be interviewed or asked questions, is it Montreal YUL or Halifax airport?

3, If it's Halifax, how friendly are they at Halifax airport to immigrants from Africa? I have read people's testimonies about various airport but I have not read anything about Halifax.

4, if it's not safe to pass there, maybe I should just go to Montreal YUL first and go and book a local flight to Halifax.

Please, help your boy make he no enter one chance.

No transit visa required for this route...

You point of entry is Montreal, that's where you will be interviewed by the immigration officer.

Once you do your biometrics for the new passport you are required to drop the old one in a self addressed return envelope, which will be used to send both the old one( with a red stamp showing it has been cancelled on both ends). And the new one will be sent to your address.
According to one of their emails you can choose not to drop your old passport after biometrics but you will not get the new one until they get your old one.
This is where my advice reach, from here you’ll have to contact Ottawa NHC.
