Look at the ignorance that's coming out of the attached picture, Africans are so stupid we deserve every misfortune that comes out way.

These zombies will kill the bat shouting their slave masters name JESUS.

Something you could have set free or kept as a pet.

It's a fruit bat which are endemic to this part of Africa. Our people are so ignorant or the local wildlife. Imagine that many don't even know that the name "Aluko" in Yoruba refers to a peculiar west African bird with distinct plumage.

As we've become more "educated" and western we've lost our "knowledge" of who we are and where we're from.

Oga, seems you don't know bat is one of the main sources of rabbis.
Hope you know rabbis has a 100% mortality rate. Once bitten and the vaccine is not taken with 24 hours, that person is walking dead. Once the symptoms start, that is the end of the person, no treatment. Only 1 person is known to have survived, an American girl, bitten by a bat, the treatment given to her could not be replicated on other patients.

Both men in the below videos all died.
If you have a tree with bat's in your house, please cut it down.

Same with dogs, squirrels and a host of others. Africans are superstitous. Your fear of bats stems from brainwashing, not experience.

Oga, I just cut 2 trees in my house because of bats, just 1 moth ago .
There were lots of them, active at night. How do we know if one gets rabid, bites someone or even a dog that now attacks people? My bingos know no life outside the compound so it is only through bats infections can come in. We have no squirrels here in urban Lagos.
2 twice I have seen rabies and what it can do. Many years ago, down my street, a young girl was bitten or scratched by a bat. About 10 year old. That girl went through hell, it got to a stage she was barking, frothing from he r mouth till she died.
2nd time I have written on this forum before. If you know anyone in UI 1993, surely they will give you the gist of when a profs dogs went rabid along Amina way biting people. I saw a lady walking, a dog sneeked on her from behind and grabbed a chunk of flesh from her leg and ran off with the "beef" in its mouth! That was how knew something was wrong. The whole area went on shutdown with gunshots all over. Long story, 15-20 people were bit and had to take rabies vaccines at huge cost.
Nothing like superstition, brainwashing here, you do not need bats around you, especially if you have pets or worse, kids, why? Kids may not tell you something scratched them, before you know, symptoms show and at that stage, a painful death is inevitable.

Nobody.
..but let me just set it straight.
When I was young, I remember my dad acquired a large piece of land close to a forest on the outskirts of our town. Bats in this area were like in their thousands, hanging on trees every here and there. There was a day we followed my dad to this place with an hunter. Don't be surprised that five sacks were filled up with bats shot by this hunter. But I remember the hunter asked us to always hit their head with a big stick before making any attempt to pick them up. He said some of them which might have not really died can still give us a serious bite. On getting home, it took us two days to roast the entire bats, damn, they were so many.

My next experience with bats was when I became undergraduate at OAU Ife. Old students of Ife can relate. There's even a local joint in Modakeke where we dey enjoy fresh palmie and bats pepper soup. Na dat time I know say gyration dey sweet wella. grin grin grin

The joint you mention is it Bestos in Aserifa 2007/2008/2009

We have lots of trees at home. Birds visit a lot, owls, bats, crows. No one has ever been infected in my house.
