How are they purchasing train for red rail when the construction is yet to commence? Blue rail phase one took 15yrs to complete, red rail covers a farther distance, I don’t even want to use blue rail as an estimate of how long it will take for the red rail construction to be completed.

Now let’s stay on topic, the red rail was touted as a separate rail different from the NRC infrastructure (current one that runs to Iddo), except they plan to use that how is the red rail ready? I haven’t seen any construction since I last visited Lagos, they are not using a subway model.
Remember blue rail construction has been ongoing for 15yrs and only phase one is done.
Is the phase one active? can you confirm you can go ride the blue rail today.
Its not about what is said on the news but what the ground reality is.

For now, red line is not electric because it's owned by FG. Lagos state Gov is only using the FG track for it's Red Line transit. If FG electrifies the Lag-Ibadan rail, then state government can easily put electric trains on it.

Red line is ready. Fully ready. The fact that you haven't seen it does not mean it does not exist. I have seen it.

Yes it does share right of way with lagos Kano in places. Which is how train systems should work. Interoperability.

The only thing that held up the blue line was the refusal of the then PDP federal government to grant right of way over Federal land. This is no longer an issue.

Well, Lagos can raise cash in tax for the rail, (and even borrow self). Anambra cannot, because it does not have the populaiton, so stop the mockery.

If Lagos was never the federal capital or the main port, it would have been as broke as Anambra.

Oh in that case xpect d train to stop at middle of nowhere regularly. Not even eko electricity can guarantee constant power.

Lagos was the capital of S0uthern NIgeria from 1906, then Nigeria from 1914...till 1991-5.

Oga just use your google and twitter. LAMATA have issued several videos and statements on state of the infrastructure. The track is like 95% and the LAMATA lady said all stations except one is ready. And yes, they use part of the new Lagos Ibadan corridor and track for some parts and i think fresh or old track for other parts. Just google pls

How come no one is asking if the extra Red Line rolling stock being purchased are more of those fudge ugly sets they got from the yanks or are the Chinkos (hopefully) providing diesel versions of the Blue Lines EMU's, this should be interesting .

Trust my governor, it's gonn be EMU as emission and fossil-free environment is the direction the state's place its focus.
