Abductors have freed pupils and teachers of Apostolic Faith Group School, Emure after seven days in captivity.

Those freed include five students and three teachers while the kidnappers killed the driver identified as Taye Rasaki.

The gunmen on Monday ambushed a bus conveying the pupils and teachers back to their homes at Eporo and whisked nine away, leaving the bus on the road.

The kidnappers were said to have demanded N100m ransom for each of the nine persons in their den.

The abductors, however, on Thursday reduced the ransom to N15m for all the victims, threatening to kill them if the money was not paid on time.

In the early hours of Sunday, reprieve came their way as the bandits set them free.

The Chairman of Emure Council Area of Ekiti State, Hon. Adebayo Oluwatosin, who confirmed the development, said the victims are in the palace of Elemure of Emure Ekiti.

He added that the driver was killed while eight others regained freedom.

Confirming the development, Ekiti Police Command Public Relation Officer, Sunday Abutu said: “All victims were rescued today around 1:30am but we lost the driver who was unexpectedly killed by the abductors.

I will be glad if the real kidnappers that killed the oba and kidnapped the school children are caught but from eye witness accounts they were all Fulanis and the boys I saw online being totured are not Fulanis…in Nigeria of today if you Dey born plenty children especially males make sure you have money to train them because poverty is now becoming like a felony in Nigeria. These boys are probably children of poor parents who due to extreme poverty and lack of jobs might gather during idle times to smoke weed and anytime kassala burst in that community some people go rush those poor people to use them as a scape goat because they know they can’t defend themselves or have anybody to defend them

That's the definition of sophistication by the Yorubas. After paying and losing 15 million naira, the stragglers found around the vicinity were picked up and brutalised which they recorded to use in deceiving those they can deceive.

Why haven't they publish the names of those they claimed to have arrested? Is it because there was no Chinaza around the vicinity? God will continue to shame the evil people hellbent on propagating a devilish narrative to suit their biases.

If the 15m was paid the driver is still alive. He is one of the kidnappers

LOL I remember the famous response from Jagaban, but he had a valid point. Before herdsmen started kidnapping, it was a vibrant business in the south-south, oil workers were majorly the target back then.

Till this very day, you have lots of Igbos, Niger deltans who are into kidnapping. One chance operators are majorly from the 2 aforementioned tribes, so everyone must be treated as a suspect, not that once you hear about kidnapping, you say they're herdsmen, that's a security flaw that would allow the real kidnappers escape without suspicion..
