Pls any insight to this refusal letter for my wife SOWP & Study permit for the kids.

Note: I’m still in Nigeria when I submitted SOWP and study permit for them with my wife bank statement that has a sufficient fund to cover their stay in Canada.

Now I’m thinking maybe I should apply for visitor visa for them instead of SOWP and study permit

Please I need your contribution

First thing first, you need to review the funds submitted for your wife. Is it sufficient? What sufficient to you may not sufficient to the VO. Most of the time, if you submitted sufficient funds and you been denied based on insufficient funds is mostly you didn't submit enough evidence as per the source/s of the funds. You need to show how your wife accumulated her savings. If she's a business owner, show previous receipts of job/contract done and the business bank statement with her personal bank statement. If she's an employee of a company, she will need to show employment letter and payslip. Another thing is that of you need to show CAD30k for example, ensure you add minimum of CAD5k in case of exchange rate fluctuations.

As for your kids, that reason is associated with the purpose of their study. I think that has to do with your SOP or not inline with their previous studies. Ensure you explain in such a way that a kindergarten boy will find it quite easy to understand. You may also order their GCMS Notes to see the real reason behind the refusals.

Thanks vikkyexman. I really appreciate your insightful, well my wife has sufficient funds in her account with documentary evidence for the source of the funds.

I applied separately and gotten my visa 4 months after before I submitted their application.

Are you saying I need to show proof of funds up to 30Cad? Does it matter to be Canada bank account statement? Or if I have funds in my Nigeria bank account?

I’m thinking I should apply visitor visa for them ?

Hello everyone,I'm seeking advice regarding a situation with my husband's admission to a Canadian school last August. We applied for visas, which were granted. However, as a dependent, I have a visitor's visa and was informed that I could flagpole upon arrival before the new law. My husband is set to resume his studies in May this year. I'm wondering if it's still possible to change my visitor's visa to an open work permit upon arrival before September 1st. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

At this point, the new law is nor categorically clear on when the SOWP law takes effect. If it takes effect from September as propagated in the media, then you should be able to flagpole when you enter in May

Please house, for a refusal that states that you did not demonstrate that that your spouse is a full time student in a qualified program in a DLI school. Please I want to ask if IRCC have implemented the law because the spouse school fees, enrollment, study permit where all included and the school is a DLI but is a 4Years degree programme. Please I need help on what to do. Is there any other way around this to explain to IRCC or is uit just to reapply again.

Any fund you are showing whether its in CAD or Naira has to be proved. So show the sources of the fund.

also waiting for response, also preferably from people that have travelled with minors on visiting visa. was it compulsory to buy return ticket for the child issued visiting visa?

My neighbors traveled on d 1st February using ethiopian airlines to Toronto..she didn't require a return ticket for her kid on a visiting visa..though the child's visiting visa expires in august 2025..
The mother of the child had a valid SOWP.

Ordinarily biometrics collection letter should appear on the portal 24 -48 hrs. after submission. It is impossible to schedule without the letter, some information on it are required to finalize the booking.

I’m thinking I should apply visitor visa for them

Okay, if you have shown enough funds and with enough evidence, then your LOE would have be the problem maybe. If you are planning to reapply either it's visitor or same visa, then I will say explain the funds and it's sources in tabular form. The Funds, The Source and The Amount in CAD. Then reference your proof of each sources in another space in the table. So when the VO look at it, they will go straight to the proof you shown through that reference for each funds. With that they will understand better.

Kindly note that, the visa officer that reviewed your own application may not be the one that will review theirs since it was submitted separately. So if you are planning to reapply, kindly ensure you explain well in your LOE as every applications are treated on its own merit. In addition, kindly note that visitor's visa holder can't work in Canada unless you are able to covert it to closed work permit in Canada with eligible LMIA employer which may not come so fast as expected.
