Excellent! I am yet to see any Nigerian TV analyst with this in-depth knowledge of the way this Nigeria team is set-up. Peseiro has really done well for this team
Walahi, they are good. They make me see things I don't see in the heat of the moment.

See how our players keep their defensive shape.

If only we can solidify this method as our foundation and then build our offensive play. As in for the future

For a team ranked 23rd in the world South Korea are abysmal. I have not seen such a disjointed performance from a semi finalist.

No drive. No power, no passion, just pedestrian loose passing and looking for Son.

Their keeper is their best player. He's been made to work extra today.

I watched this analysis, far better than those citi sports guys, in fact towards the end was the most excellent analysis I have ever seen using stats to explain how Ola Aina completely marked out the Angolan striker, Gelson or what's name, dude had no shot at goal at all. They were all wondering where all the Angolan strikers went to, that past was so funny and exciting.

Pls for the umpteenth time. Is sundowns bigger than Fulham. Even the ones with the narratives that good players play in big clubs and earn fat salaries are fidgeting because of ordinary sundowns players. I bet, if a Nigerian player in SA was called up for this Afcon we for dey hear all manners of prejudice and nonsense. Don't tell me Nwabali because his case was because no borough GK has declared his intention. Pls ya all should rest. SE all stars from top 5 leagues will play against Memolodi Sundowns. Their league is rated nowhere in the world. And we have men from top 5 leagues. I just don't understand the fears. If SA win us then if I hear consistent top performance in top 5 leagues here again before call up to National team. It's better we loose to CIV or Senegal, even Congo than SA oh.

Good analysis.

in summary
1. Peseiro found this setup after injury to Ndidi and later Yusuf. He had to deploy Iwobi to a more defensive role
2. The team is well drilled to defend as
a unit and occupy spaces as well as transition to attack quickly.

My issue with Peseiro remains making tactical changes not just because he is forced to but to switch up play either to kill the game or counter when the opponent has made changes and are attempting to exploit weak areas in the team. Angola exposed Peseiro in this.

Since the AFCON started and until the Angola game I’ve not criticized Peseiro. Even after our first game vs EG which ended in a draw, I praised the team.

I will never start Osimhen in bench in a crucial knock out game. But in a final group game when all looks good, yes. Then bring him on in the second half.

I don't know what you guys think. I personally think Obafemi was a better finisher.

95% of Onyeka's game for Brentford has been as a CM/box 2 box midfielder. He even has assists and goals in that role. You can use sofascore.

Yusuf can also fit in as a DM.

Our current mid-field set-up requires one CM/DLP and one box 2 box midfielder/CM or rather 2 CMs.

This is why Raph Onyedika couldn't come on against Angola. Yusuf who is a box 2 box midfielder replaced Iwobi and Aribo another box 2 box midfielder replaced Frank Onyeka.
3-4-3 doesn't use box-to-box midfielder sir. The work of the two midfielders is to hold the middle and provide security. That's why the formation metamorphoses into 3-2-5 when attacking.

Ndidi has been playing further forward for Leceister this season. That doesn't mean he is not a DM. Yusuf can't play as a DM...we will be limiting him that way. Did you see the pass he gave Lookman immediately he came on against Angola?

If Osimhen had scored 3 our 6 big chances, he’d have 4 goals now. So Osimhen could excel in this set up. He’s just missed some chances.

Likewise Moffi. All this set up talk. In a 3-4-3 you have a point man. Moffi has played in a variety of formations in Nice. As a RF/RW in a 4-3-3. As a CF in a 4-3-3 and even as a CF in a 3-4-3 (where he also scored). See below their game vs Lyon

zicky:
Uncle kc and Moffi can't score in this setup, how many has Osimhen scored in this setup that was made just for him. Bringing up R16 with a different coach and Uzoho abi maduka in goal to buttress your point. I'll say it again God forbid but if Osimhen can't play our next match Nigeria will not lose. You forget Moses and lookman contribute as much as Osimhen in this so called setup you keep calling. You don't even see how Bassey, aina and ekong have been key in this setup, but what you keep saying is if Osimhen don't play Nigeria will lose because he's Messi abi Ronaldo (R7 even sit on the bench for Portugal)

Osimhen may just save the best for last. It’s a question of converting his chances not getting past the defenders. He will definitely get chances against SA. I expect to see him score.

Thank you o, I thought am the only one thinking this way. Penalty shoot-outs are part of the game if you can't score in regulation time. The best approach is to prepare for all situations and scenarios. All this talk of taking chances is all assumptions, what if the keeper keeps saving all your efforts in regulation time, won't you fight till the very end? Looking at Cape Verde, it's obvious they didn't prepare enough for penalties while SA prepared totally. From the knock-out stage, teams are expected to prepare totally for all scenarios, we have even seen teams missing penalties given in regulation time which still reflects preparedness. Imagine Ekong missed the penalty against CIV, no be abuse we go abuse am? We got to be ready for all scenarios jare
and someone here was engaging me stating that penalties are 90% luck.
And I asked him. "If penalties are 90% luck, why then do players train for it?".

It's would have been better if he had stated that it's a 50/50% chance not 90%.
