not much really, Malema is a clown and most farm murders are committed by illegal foreigners, once all illegal foreigners are deported and our border secured then a good deal of SAs problems would be solved

Do you think the Nigerian Air Force would require more assets after this?

2x AW109 Trekker helicopters
2x Beechcraft King Air 360 ISR
4x Diamond DA-62 ISR
6x T-129 ATAK helicopters
3x Wing Loong II UCAV
2x CASA-295 medium airlift/surveillance aircraft
12x AH-1Z attack helicopters
24x M-346 trainer/attack aircrafts (First official confirmation from CAS).

55 aircraft’s in total, so far 10 have been delivered;

1x Beechcraft King Air 360 ISR
4x Diamond DA-62 ISR
2x T-129 ATAK helicopters
3x Wing Loong II UCAV.

For me we still need more assets; especially male UAV, long endurance UAV/spy UAV, transport & logistic aircraft both for logistics/transport for fixes wings and rotary aircraft.

Not e need more fighter aircrafts for power projection; probably the JF thunder block lll and in the nearest future su 75s/Su 35s or better still go for a stealthier aircraft.

They should focus more on NCO training, gear and standards. Tbh, a lot of Nigerian personnel still look and act almost like insurgents and that's not good at all. I've seen way to many videos of Nigerian personnel showing both poor training and discipline.

NCO are the workforce, strength and image of a nations military. If the skill and discipline of the average NCO is poor, the military as a whole will be ineffective.

I've noticed most investment in the Nigerian military is limited to officers and select few men. I used to think it was due to resource constraints, but now I see they can actually do much more.

An equipped army that has a serious NCO problem is always a calamity waiting to happen. Example was the Afghan military. Even with the level of equipment and aircraft they had, they still fell to the Taliban. Two years before Taliban fell, I remember watching a special forces officer in the Afghan special forces talk about how bad the army was, and they couldn't do much since the US forces were very few and they also were few compared to the regular army. You just can't end terrorism from the air, you need thousands of able men who know are not just skilled, but disciplined enough to be adored by civilians.

This is a major problem, but in this case I'm referring to Air Assets mainly.

However some of the recent videos I've seen leave a lot to be desired.

I don't think standardization of equipment is even a major issue, while it's cost effective to standardize on a type of equipment, we've seen, especially in the war in Ukraine armies will use multiple types of equipment efficiently.

A major problem is training or the lack therefore of adequate training for NCO.

I think we have enough MALE UAVs, where I believe we need more aircraft is in transport and logistics.

The C-130s we have are getting old, and are in need of replacement. The KC-390 is the perfect replacement for them.

On this Fighter Jets issue, I don't think we need more Fighter Jets. The M-346FA we're buying is Fighter Attack, this means that we would be getting an aircraft that's capable for any type of mission, and the numbers also makes sense.

We currently have 13 upgraded F-7NI's and 3 JF-17s for a total of 15 aircrafts for power projection.

Can we boast of 20 Male UAV at every stand up time ?

We need long endurance UAV in the North central/west and other theatres to combat kidnapping/Bandits.

For fighter jets and trainers, I think we are good. Has for the power projection both the upgraded and jf-17 are still in 3rd generation for me. @Kabe I want to see an airforce that can compete or get close to the likes of Egypt and Algeria etc I believe we can achieve and we have the purchasing power. This is just my own take.

Has for Faithfull007 I totally agree with him;
during Retrd Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar tenure we saw alot of investing in training of NCO/COs but has time goes it declined over the years. I miss that man's administration, His still my best service chief we ever had in recent time. I don't know if the force are still training more SOF/PANTHERS, the rate of training and standardization was rapidly improving then.

Anyways the NAF is on the right track and direction, Rome was not built in a day. Am proud of what the airforce has achieved so far.

The S-70I Black Hawk helicopter and the Bell 412 are options we can look at for medium lift.

Philippines bought the S-70 from Poland, 30 + units for 400+ million a couple of years ago.

We will not be able to buy Russian aircrafts for now.

Nice photos; seems the NAF only went for unguided rockets and the (4 x 4) Cirit 70 mm guided rockets.
We didn't see any photos of UMTAS and L-UMTAS ?

We haven't seen any ATGMs, but I'm sure NAF would have placed orders for it too.

I dont get your point ?
What aim saying is we should get aircrafts for power projection but for now we can improve the numbers of JF-17 thunders.

To your question; "the Su-57 opts for a more traditional canted tail and horizontal stabilizers, the Su 75 Checkmate instead features a ruddervator that with fewer surfaces. It would presumably be stealthier than a conventional tail assembly and it was designed to be a light weight fighter aircraft"

I think there's a re-approachment towards American gear, I think we might not be able to get Black Hawk helicopters from the US, but buying from the Polish manufacturing line might be easier.

There have been some reports stating the Caracal or Airbus helicopters are high maintenance and expensive to procure so I really don't see that happening.

The MI-17 is the best option, however in the unlikely hood and given the current situation that we can't get them, the S-70 and Bell 412 are the best bet for the Nigerian Air Force.

The United States will not allow Nigeria buy Russian aircrafts, we might not like it, but this is the fact.

We could make the JF-17s a full squadron.

Bell isn't a medium lift helicopter na

The Agusta AW101 or Airbus H225 (Superpuma family that we already have experience with). 24 passengers at a go.

The Medium Airlift Group of NAF deserve attention if there is any left to give sha
