Bruh.......CIV deserve it more than us. Forget Ref, he wasn't really bad as we really wished. We too like to blame Ref anytime we lost in the final. Let the gentleman breathes.

JPes?! He has no business coming back to Naija. He should fly directly to Lisbon from Abidjan. LOL!

Dude was bad. He demoralized our moral.

Jpes out.

We did not play well. I said so before and after we scored. As a SE fan, I'd have been happy if we had won but I don't think I'd have watched the match a second time. Our play was terrible.

.....really terrible. We were outplayed until we were chasing the game. JPes actually wanted to play attacking footie as evident in our first match.

He went defensive cos it worked for him in the 2nd Match. LOL!

The boys tried their best, unfortunately today is not our day.

I can only look on the positives from this tourney, the excellent performance of Nwabali and our tight defence ,the emergence of Onyeka in our midfield ,Lookman,Ekong all round solid display and other good things to take from this competition which will help in our WC qualifiers.

His current heat maps in Portugal says you are wrong. He has decent lungs to play the 90mins game. And a brilliant DLP don't have to run around. They control the game with intelligent positioning and space exploitation. Their passes always incisive, game changing and game opening.

If a player has to run around too much, it means he is using brawns to cover for lack of or little brains.

forgiveness:

Dude only got good long passes but no lungs to run around.

I already saw his game from U17 and I knew he could have problem in modern football but you thought I was hating.

My brother, I said nothing before this game, I had a hunch we will be in for a shocker. I was rather taken aback reading all sorts with people predicting how we will spank Ivory coast.

If we went toe to toe with them we would as can be attested to in the dying minutes of the game

I have never been a fan of Mourinho, but that man has won a lot of trophies with his "negative tactics." That he's having a tough time now, doesn't mean you should downplay his efforts.

I have been a Barca fan all my life, and possession football is my forte, but calling Peseiro's tactics a fluke is like putting a dent on the efforts of those players, who worked so hard to get to the final.

Some countries played good football and got eliminated. Will you call them flukes too? The South Africa that outplayed us, where are they today?

I have not changed my mind. I have stood by it for decades. Parked bus is fluke. No matter the titles won with it, it is fluke. Whether Mourinho won trophies, doe snot change that it was fluky reigns.

Ndidi is not a controller either. None of the midfielders in this team to CIV 2023 is a controller. None.

This team needed an Nwakali but Jpes kept playing dumb and stubborn.

Ndidi isn't a pass master himself.

Ndidi is way ahead of Onyeka in the game of passing.

On balance of play we simply didn't deserve to win. We even got lucky Ekong scored from that set piece.
The defence didn't trust the midfield, they kept lumping it up to Osimhen.
The fans themselves were over confident. Where all the confidence was coming from, I had no idea.
So your team will play and enter final and you'd not be confident they'd win? Omo so your expectation was that we'd lost the match? Weren't the Ivorians confident? Why did they come to the stadium? If they had lost, you'd have told them that it was their over-confidence as fans that made their team lost?

I really detest misdiagnosis.

This fan talk is what I don't get. Is it the fans that play the ball?

Except we prefer to lie to ourselves
We need Nwakali in this team
We need to hold possession
The way we lose balls is too embarrassing for a team of our caliber and this has gone on for YEARS!

It looks like Bringing on Moses Simon didn't do anything to stop Adingra. I thought it would. But taking off Chukwueze did nothing. Moses Simon came on and Adingra kept having joy against Aina
I wonder where Simon was all the time Aina's position was being attacked. He was nowhere to be found and it's very strange because his activities helping the flanks is what made the coach sub him in.

This is another factor that caused us the match.

Alot of people were living in denial. We got to the final to play the host, a power house like Ivory coast, came to the thread all I was seeing was talk about spanking Ivory coast. On the back of the South Africa outplaying us in the semi final.
I think it was the moniker Forgiveness who said we should stay humble, that God rewards humility.
As a people I hope we take home a lesson from this episode.
