Mujtahida: What your saying is devoid of facts and reality. How can you relate tiki taka to negativity? When Tiki Taka in its purest is about creating waves and loads of scoring chances. Look at the screenshot below of Manchester City in their last two games. How can you say negative? As for Spain, they got to the finals of the last Euros and won the Nations League. Defeats your horrible theory. 1 Like

A big congratulations to the Super Eagles for coming thus far. I never envisaged that we could even get to the finals. Kudos to everyone for making that possible. It's no time to trade blames as we cannot undo what has happened. We can only draw lessons from the tournament. Who knows?,we can be Afcon winners next year if we fix areas that are broken. It's high time we move on to the next game which is a world cup qualifier against our rivals,South Africa next month. Nigeria has underachieved at the Afcon looking at the number of times we have reached the Afcon semi finals. From a reliable source,Jose poseiro won't continue as Head Coach. Poseiro may take up the coaching job at Zamalek. Wherever he goes,we but can only wish him luck in his future endeavors. Should the NFF source for a Nigerian to lead the team, who should it be?. I personally think it is high time to give a Nigerian the role to excel in it as soon as possible as time is no longer on our side as the WCQ is fast approaching. The second dilemma stems from the fact that certain players need to exit the team as their services are no longer needed but well appreciated for their meritorious dedication to the country's badge. We will really need to include quality players to the NT without dislodging the nucleus of the team. Who are the players that can add depth and stealth to the current team?. 1 Like |

A very good tournament for Nigeria and time to reflect on how to fix the team up for WC qualification. It is time to give the likes of Akinsanmiro and Eletu the chance cuz it was glaring we couldn't controlled our games in the middle in all our matches. |

Kog45: Sometimes you've just got to gamble and hope it works out cause at the point we have nothing to lose. We've had same midfield problem for many years and if giving Eletu, Akinsomiro and Daga a chance will potentially be a solution we should go all in. Simon Adingra who did the most damage yesterday is 22. 3 Likes |

With this unbridled toxicity from Nigerian fans, how do we convince foreign-breds to come play for us? 5 Likes |

We could have probably won the tournament if we continued with this formation. Despite we didn't win our first match against equa guinea we played better, created enough chances and this is the only match we won on possession out of all the games we played at the afcon. When the coach started this his defensive formation, although we managed to win games but we were playing badly, wasn't controlling the ball well and finding it harder to keep possession. Some of us knew we couldn't continue like that but some were blinded my the euphoria of lackluster Victories 1 Like

Joebie: You get? I don't know why empathy is such a foreign concept to fans. Do they think they're more affected by the loss than players themselves? These tournaments are part of the players careers, they are used in their profiles and used to judge the success of the career. You wey no dey pitch, no fit dey more interested in the win than the people who give 90 minutes of their sweat on that pitch, so, to pile on them on top their own feelings of failure is wicked. |

Daninya33: This has always been our issue, we can hardly build on our successes going forward but I have hope that if we could fix our goal-keeping crisis just before this afcon then we should be able to fix our midfield crisis too. I've listened to some of our ex-players like Oliseh, Osaze, Amunike, and others, they were never too comfortable with this defensive pattern we deployed throughout this Afcon. If we indeed have a technical team, they should start with a thorough assessment of the football tactics we used during this Afcon and perform a true SWOT analysis of this team. From there they should know the players who need to be appreciated for their service to the nation and allowed to ease themselves out of the team while new players ( many have been suggested here) should be given a chance. The national team is not anybody's father's property. Am grateful to Paseiro, we can build on some positives and value he has added to our team, I wish he could stay on but we can't tie him down if he wants to go. If we want to get another foreign coach or even a local coach, let's remember that he will need some matches again to understand our players, I hope it won't come at a cost with the World Cup qualifiers already here. 1 Like |

Barryseal: Let us be real, throughout Peseiro's time here, we have never built our midfield. We did not freeze on the occasion. We never grew. That is how we ran with the myth that we had no keeper. Scout and screen and freaking build a team. Nigeria is not a country that fields chickens as players. Pound for pound, Brazil had far better players than us in 96, but we did not cower, we gave them hell. 2 Likes |

Going forward, perseiro is not the one for us he is too timid and defensive. While he has improved our defense, he is too lazily a coach to scout for midfielders. This bad tradition of carrying 4 midfielders to major tourneys must stop Iwobi can't be starting for us. This tourney showed that he isn't really as good as he is touted. A good sub nonetheless but not a starter for a title contender. Osimhen tried. He just wasn't getting services Zaidu sanusi shouldn't be starting. We need to get a solid LB or draft a player there. Maduka Okoye should come take the place of Uzoho. His time with is is over. We did great and surpassed expectations. Just need a new coach and some few tweaks here and there. Maybe Angola's coach or Hugo boss since he has more experience...or herve Renard. Emmanuel Amunike wouldn't be bad but I'm not sure about him I'm talking of coaches that are realistically within our reach 1 Like 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe:On the contrary, Peseiro have tried to develop our game to be more possessive. Nobody can deny we controlled games prior to this championship, we just couldn't keep a clean sheet thanks to an unbalanced defence and Uzoho. Alot of people commended our posessesive play against Saudi Arabia and Uganda abi na Mozambique, even you, I remember reading your blue font. Just like the way we struck gold with Nwabali, I feel same will happen to that midfield in fullness of time. I hope we get the next managerial hire right. Alot depends on that 1 Like |

Blueelf:Blue baba,Alex Iwobi made eagles as academy player...my 14 years old son is playing in U18 youth league and a starter playing from CB. I think we just need to fix things up ...you said can we get Daga but Eletu and Akinsanmiro are too young. |

Blueelf: Dude played with an injury, He is one of the players am most grateful to. He wasn't 100% fit for this Afcon yet he gave his all. Twice in the early minutes against SA and CIV he went down, how he still gets all that energy to press upfront is a wonder. His APOTY is no fluke 1 Like |

Blueelf:well daga plays for enyimba. I quite agree that they should be tested professionally before we throw them into our midfield. It's not a big ask considering players their age are already playing top flight football in teams like Barca, Liverpool, man city and the likes. We know they show promises but we are yet to see how well they can perform on the big stage. We have players we can still call up while keeping tabs on their progress. Apart from iwobi, I can't think of any other player we played in our team before their professional debut. Even osimhen had to wait a long time before his debut for us. |
