Dancebreaker:

Osimhen did not look too fit.

Simon should have started to run behind CIV defence like Adingra did to us.
Osimhen was starved of ball.

CIV played sound football and deserved their win.
Sure Ivory Coast deserved their win.

The Coach's formation and tactics prioritized Defense in place of attack.

The midfield was basically not existent and that meant Osimhen was stranded forward.

Nigeria has never played this kind of defensive football.

We are used to a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation.

Worst Player Award nko. grin

None of our players was really outstanding except for Ekong 👍

&perhaps Osimhen who had a hand in several of our goals, even though he performed below expectations

&perhaps Nwabali who helped us dodge a bullet (Uzoho)

The rest were just mediocre.

How many disallowed goals did Osimhen score again?

Make all of una shut up.. Chelsea won the champions league 2012.. with this same tactics.. every team that year played them hands down but they were destined to win it and they won.. morroco, south Africa played good possessive football but couldn't make it to the finals... cotedivoire was destined to win this tournament..way forward.. let the coach continue... let him scout for Good midfielders..we have a good attack if you ask me.. bye..see u next afcon
When the Eagles were winning no one ever thought of or suggested that the coach should be sacked, why now?

If you look at yesterday match , Nigeria coach was at fault for using a wrong formation in the final match.

You were leading , you were still defending instead of the team to change it's tactics to attacking formation.

4-4-2 formation would have done the magic.

Iwobi does not know that as a midfielder you need to be mobile with the ball and be creative as well.

Why does he need to scout or improve? he should simply wait for destiny.

Yesterday finals was between Barcelona (Xavi &Iniesta) midfield dominated and Nigeria. Nigeria was good but Barca (Ivory coast was better), well the fact remains that wen ever a good team play a better team, the good team will appear a mediocre. Ivorian touches were phenomenal, we were out played 90 min. If u play dt finals again they will still win us. The match hid Iwobi who is perceived good, but the Ivorians took d midfield from him, as such Osimen cudnt deliver (Score), even our flank was the worst outing yesterday. The better side won. "When u are intelligent and u were made to represent ur schl in an maths-academic competition, upon getting there u meet a guy who doesn't solve maths before giving u answers then u will undstd my piece"
Victory deserved. Congrats Ivorians!

At least we went further than we have ever done in a decade. Bassey and entire defence was under too much pressure. Ndidi was an epic miss to SE.

And then i remember, i should have said Nigeria has never played this type of defensive football at AFCON.

In the 2002 World cup , i remember we crumbled under this same pressure. Though i must give it to the players we had back then. They played better despite meeting a classic Argentinian team.

You do not understand football...
Watianoengineer:
sad so na this yeye Osimhen Wan go madrid/arsenal and Co? A so called African best without impact. He better remain in Naples and be scoring his Tap Ins. Whether we like it or not Osimhen is not a world class striker. I don't see the reason for the Osimhen hype. Very average. Even Yak and Julius Aghahowa that never won CAF best were more prolific in front of goal. See that Sebastian haller has been a beast since his Ajax days. He was diagnosed with cancer, recovered, started two games for ivory coast and scored both winning goals. That is the job of a sensible striker. We keep consoling ourselves with Osimhen dey disturb defenders, he sabi put pressure but when he was needed most he was no where to be found. If Osimhen had the balls to play all our penalties rather than Ekong it would add to his tally. Such an unreliable No 9. Iwobi and that chukwueze should never be invited again. Very mediocre set of fools

Dude, let's be honest. I thought semi-final would be a huge success.
Winning AFCON would have been an overachievement like we did in 2013.
For their level of talent, they did great in this AFCON.

Even the highly talented pool of 2000 could not do better at home.

Frank Onyeka was lazy yesterday? I know that you watch the final but not seeing Frank Onyeka fought everywhere against Ivory Coast rampaging players was sheer ignorance of what happened last night.

If you watched thesame Onyeka against Cameroon or Angola, you will agree with me he wasn't at his best also. Though he still did more than many in the team.

Onyeka's role is to mark opponents, tackle and fought for ball, these he did absolutely well considering his tackles and prompt challenge against the Ivory Coast players. Ndidi's absence was not felt because Onyeka did well, had Iwobi and Chukwueze played their part well, Ivory Coast wouldn't have dominated the match the way the did.
