If a common heritage conferred peace, then perhaps the long history of conflict in the Middle East would have been resolved years ago.

According to a new scientific study, Jews are the genetic brothers of Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese, and they all share a common genetic lineage that stretches back thousands of years. Michael Hammer of the University of Arizona department of ecology and evolutionary biology directed the research.

"Jews and Arabs are all really children of the House of Abraham," says Harry Ostrer, M.D., Director of the Human Genetics Program at New York University School of Medicine, an author of the new study by an international team of researchers in the United States and Israel. "And all have preserved their Middle Eastern genetic roots over 4000 years."

The researchers analyzed the Y chromosome, which is usually passed unchanged from father to son, of more than 1,000 men worldwide. Throughout human history, alterations have occurred in the sequence of chemical bases that make up the DNA in this so-called male chromosome, leaving variations that can be pinpointed with modern genetic techniques. Related populations carry the same specific variations. In this way, scientists can track descendants of large populations and determine their common ancestors.

Specific regions of the Y chromosome were analyzed in 1,371 men from 29 worldwide populations, including Jews and non-Jews from the Middle East, North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe.

The study, published in the May 9 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, found that Jewish men shared a set of common genetic signatures with non-Jews from the Middle East, including Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese, and these signatures diverged significantly from those of non-Jewish men outside of this region.

Consequently, Jews and Arabs share a common ancestor and are more closely related to one another than to non-Jews from other areas of the world.

The study also revealed that, despite the complex history of Jewish migration in the Diaspora (the time since 556 B.C. when Jews migrated out of Palestine), Jewish communities have generally not intermixed with non-Jewish populations. If they had, then Jewish men from different regions of the world would not share the same genetic signature in their Y chromosome.

"Because ancient Jewish law states that Jewish religious affiliation is assigned maternally, our study afforded the opportunity to assess the contribution of non-Jewish men to present-day Jewish genetic diversity, said Hammer. "It was surprising to see how significant the Middle Eastern genetic signal was in Jewish men from different communities in the Diaspora.."

⚡The West wants to create a new “special envoy” to Kiev who would have permanent direct access to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergey Naryshkin, has claimed. He likened the proposed position to a foreign “governor” of Ukraine.

In a statement issued by the SVR’s press service on Monday, Naryshkin suggested that the US and the UK are trying to convince other G7 states to establish the post in order to “strengthen the mechanisms of direct external control of the territory controlled by the Kiev regime.”

“It is expected that [the ‘special envoy’] will have constant access to President Zelensky and know about all his plans,” the SVR’s statement read. The person will also have the ability to “block the steps of the Ukrainian leadership that are not coordinated with Washington and London, proposing instead the correct solutions, from the point of view of the Anglo-Saxons,” it added.

There has reportedly been a mass casualty event In town of Selidovo where Russian iskander and reportedly cluster munitions from smerch devastated an AFU training ground.

Some are saying over 300 casualties but we can’t verify since both Russia and Ukraine government never reported the accurate numbers completely.

This estimate comes from the accompanying reports that hospitals beds in Dnepropetrovsk have been completely filled.

Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Igor Mosiychuk confirmed arrivals.

We wait for more details, because Ukraine military announced that thousands of troops have arrived in that location, and today Russia military targeted the place with missiles.

My question is that why did Ukraine military announced there troops are coming to that location? Was it for propaganda purposes? I have never see Russia announcing that her military troops have arrived in a particular location, must of Russia troops movement have been done by Ukrainian reporters.

Looking back it was insane how Ukraine telegraphed and overhyped its offensive in Zaporozhye, with massive reports on media like CNN and BBC.

Including massive promo by Zelensky's media team dropped a week before the offensive began and NATO generals running up and down, I think by now Ukraine should have kicked Russia out of even Crimea.

Imagine allied forces announcing to German troops that both USSR and USA led troops will be deployed in a particular area shocked

I said it before that this war will be sweep under carpet if Ukraine government don’t get her shit together. Nothing can be done against Russia again.
USA and her allies have ran out of sanctions, Russia got Gulf nations that helped her heal and massive Chinese government support.
USA and EU government overestimated theirselves, they forgot that the world have advanced and underestimated the Chinese government and the rest of the world.

Funny thing that Japanese government were the one that suggested price cap on Russia oil, thinking they will be getting cheap oil from Russia but same Japan are buying Russia oil above market price.

A bit satisfied. What I wanted to point out was your author trying to write off Ashkenazi jews as substandard jews. Serious research showed there was an introduction to their gene pool but it doesn't change the fact they are jews from their Y-chromosomes. That's the fake news there.

Wanted to attach a document but I keep getting redirected to FP.

"Assumptions, or working hypotheses, are a major part of science. In fact, it is difficult to talk for long with a scientist about science without hearing the words, “If we assume.” In order to make sense of things, we usually have to make assumptions."

Assumption is one of the pinnacles of science is what I said.

You agree with me, but also trying to find means to disagree. You're the one tryna argue for the sake of it. I stated fact.
I have watch you argue here, this is why I always avoid arguing with you.

First, U said "assumptions" and now u add "or working hypothesis", and then u ended it with, I agree with you. How?

Lets even assume this is how you put it in the first place. While the terms "assumption" and "hypothesis" are related, they are not exactly the same. An assumption is something taken for granted or accepted as true without proof. It forms the basis of an argument or line of reasoning but may not necessarily be tested or proven. On the other hand, a hypothesis is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon or a prediction that can be tested through experimentation or observation.

⚡South Africa submits "urgent request" to ICJ regarding Israel's Rafah offensive

South Africa has asked the International Court of Justice to consider whether Israel's plan to extend its offensive in Gaza into the city of Rafah requires additional emergency measures to protect the rights of Palestinians.

The South African presidency said it had submitted an "urgent request" to the ICJ on Monday, adding that the government was "gravely concerned that the unprecedented military offensive against Rafah, as announced by the State of Israel, has already led to and will result in further large scale killing, harm and destruction."

Last month, the World Court ordered Israel to take all measures to prevent its troops from committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, following a case brought by South Africa.
