NHS nurses being investigated for ‘industrial-scale’ qualifications fraud

Scam involves more than 700 healthcare workers who used proxies to pass test in Nigeria enabling them to work in the UK

Hundreds of frontline NHS staff are treating patients despite being under investigation for their part in an alleged “industrial-scale” qualifications fraud.

More than 700 nurses are caught up in a potential scandal, which a former head of the Royal College of Nursing said could put NHS patients at risk.

The scam allegedly involves proxies impersonating nurses and taking a key test in Nigeria, which must be passed for them to become registered and allowed to work in the UK.

Off course this is true . I know a lady who used someone to pass her license exam. Omo the thing is expensive but that's the only way a lot of them are able.to.get their license.

It's not new in Nigeria. For instance clear and blatant Forgery has been proven to be legal in some exceptional cases which has been justified by the court.
They should ask the President and his aides.

Why is the test to qualify as a nurse in the UK conducted in Nigeria? Or why is the UK not in charge of the conduct like IELTS or ACCA.

The UK needs to tighten the exam process but I disagree that patience lives are at risk. Sitting and passing an exam doesn’t always reflect ability to do the job. I know people who speak fluent English who can’t pass IELTS.

That is why many fools will not ask themselves to know if the issue of NHS certificate scandal just started now or since early last year even before our president contested election.
