Oga show me the book where Zik said this. These lies no dey hold again. Zik is highly cerebral to make that kind pedestrian talk.
You are given a link, instead of you to open it and see first, you are asking for a book? How can you be given a book in an online forum other than being provided with a link?

How can I go and read such a book when you Igbos have been claiming all along that Zik led the fight against colonialism in the entire Africa to the extent that the British overlords were afraid of him? Now you claim that the same Zik was coerced by the same British to accept ordinary coalition with NPC supposedly against his will? Zik the almighty independence fighter and Pan-Africanism giant? Don't you see the contradiction? Obviously someone is lying between you who now claim that Zik was coerced into Northern partnership and other Igbos who claim that Zik was an omnipotent anticolonialist. That is the issue here.

It is clear you are really a mental case. Why are you everywhere. What is this your statement about, because it only a mad person that talk like this. Oga I am not going to engage a mental case like you.

This is a faceless forum in which no one knows anyone else to warrant the thought of recruiting anyone. That you think I recruited other monickers in a faceless forum once again shows how daft you are. People are only responding to you because they see that you are throwing lies around and refusing to accept facts. Even your fellow Igbo monickers who were initially defending Ironsi with you have all abandoned you because they have realized how daft you are.

Oga go and read Ademoyega's book. He confirmed that they wanted to install Awolowo as Head of State. Please stop lying
That Ademoyega wrote it in his book does not automatically make it the truth. No author writes a book to indict himself but to justify himself and rationalize his actions and opinions however stupid and wrong they might be. So when reading a book you don't swallow everything in it hook line and sinker else you will be a fool. When you read a book therefore, you actually read between the lines in order to separate the truth from the lies. Ademoyega made some very terrible self contradictions in his book which cannot be easily noticed by a shallow brain like yours. For example in one of the pages he claimed that the coup's major objective was to root out the corruption rampant in the corridors of power being perpetrated by the government of the day. In another page he claims that those of them in the plot had started the plot since 1961. Now the question is this: Nigeria gained independence just two months before the dawn of 1961. What corruption could a new government which had hardly fully settled down in office have so much perpetrated all within two months to warrant planning a coup to topple it? There are many other similarly illogical claims in Ademoyega's book which only show that the book is more of a poorly thought out plethora of lies aimed at rationalizing a very senseless killing spree committed by his friends in the army.

Read this.

So that you will see that a coup was carried out in the east

In Max Silloun’s book, “Oil, Politics and Violence: Nigeria’s Military Coup Culture” (page 54), he wrote:

“Contrary to popular myth, a coup was attempted in Enugu (East) and Benin (Mid-west). Overnight Major Ifeajuna sent orders to the first battalion in Enugu asking them to deploy soldiers to take over key installations and arrest government ministers in Enugu and Benin. As there was no military formation in the Mid west, no soldiers could be deployed directly from the region. For several hours the officers mulled over the strange but seemingly legitimate order (my explanation: operationally, the first battalion was under the command of the Lagos-based second brigade commanded by Brigadier Maimalari. Ifeajuna was the brigade major and could pass off instructions in that capacity, but they must be approved by Maimalari, a no-nonsense officer who trusted his brigade major. Alas, he was not aware of the illegality Ifeajuna was perpetrating in his official capacity). Finally, they took position at the Enugu airport in the early hours of the morning. A different company of soldiers under Captain Joseph Ihedigbo also headed to the Mid west region’s capital of Benin. The Igbo premier of the region Dennis Osadebey subsequently speculated that the life of the Eastern region’s premier, Dr. Michael Okpara, was spared because the head of state of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios, was his guest at the time of the coup. A more plausible reason for Okpara’s survival is that the officer assigned to arrest him (Lieutenant Oguchi) was one of those who advocated a bloodless coup. As soon as Makarios departed to return to Cyprus, Okpara was arrested.”
Yet the same Ifeajuna drove past Benin that very day but couldn't just stop over briefly to see how far those he stationed in Benin were able to do their duty? You are indeed a clown. Max Silloun is a very brash revisionist. He was not a soldier in the first instance talkless of being a participant in the coup to warrant him having first hand knowledge of what happened anywhere. On the other hand Nzeogwu who was a participant in the whole thing said in the interview as follows: "......In the East, Nothing practically was done. They let us down"

So they spared Okpara because he had as guest the head of state of Cyprus? Okay, which visitor did Dennis Osadebe too have that made them spare him too?
So after Makarios had departed, why not then proceed to kill Okpara? You must have thought you are talking to kids on Nairaland.

And come to think of it, according to the coupists, the main target and number one on the hit list was Azikiwe. But long before the coup, it became public knowledge that Azikiwe had travelled out of the country and was already overstaying his return date yet they still went ahead to carry out the coup. It is like saying you want to set fire on a bush because a dangerous snake lives inside it but few days to the time you planned to actually burn the bush you saw the snake escape to a far away place yet you still put fire on the bush all the same. It shows that it wasn't really because of the snake you wanted to burn the bush but only used the snake's presence in it as a cover up for your real dubious intent.

Oga is it that you are very dense or what. When Makarios the Papal Nuncio left the coup had already failed and according to special branch the guys tasked with carrying out the coup in the East were arrested in time and Okpara released. Also no time did Ideajuna drive past Benin. Obasanjo,Achebe, Madiebo and Joe Garba in their books all stared that Ifeajuna went through Seme border with Chris Okigbo. That was how he escaped to Ghana.

You are really mental and sick in the head walahi. Because only someone who is mental will pursue this thing with so much hatred like this, even the victims of both 66 coups have moved one and one idiot that is so inconsequential in the scheme of things is crying more than the bereaved.

So wait you are making excuses to exonerate Ademoyega and the same person you are making excuses for wrote a book with his full chest praising his role in the coup and how he actively with Ifeajuna recruited the other fellow plotters.

Are you sure you are not mentally sick in the head. Any sane person would see the stupidity and foolishness in your response, because you cannot fathom that a Yoruba man was a principal actor and fellow conspirator of that coup, so it scatters the theory that you want to spread that it is an Igbo coup.

Even the theory that the plot started in 1961 is a big fat lie. Let us use the special branch report which you use as evidence when it suits you, which stared that the planning started in 1965. Oga go and rest your plans have failed. You are desperate and you are not sensible in your argument.

Show me any newspaper publication nor a press release from the old eastern regions which announced that Makarios was in Enugu? That is question 1. You see you are not a smart person when you want to argue and you are calling me and idiot when clearly you are the idiot here, because your reasoning is not correct.

Question 2, was there a military formation in the midwest(Benin) at that time? Yes or No? Because all the people who wrote books and also your favorite Gamji and even in special brach report attributed to the coup not taking place in the Midwest to the absence of a military formation in that region.

Oga go and rest you have failed. If you cannot answer those two questions then you are liar and a evil person intent on spreading who deserves to be locked in prison and not see daylight anymore.
