It's incredibly annoying when people claim Nigeria is broke or poor. Whenever the masses demand basic necessities, politicians and those abroad often use the excuse of Nigeria's supposed poverty to justify their inaction. Yet, funds magically appear for useless projects, lavish purchases for government officials, and sponsorship of religious institutions. As someone pointed out earlier, if the APC can win elections despite cash and fuel shortages, it's a grim sign for Nigeria's future, and I share that sentiment. Honestly, Nigeria didn't seem ready for independence when it was granted, considering the current state of affairs. 15 Likes 1 Share |

https://www.nairaland.com/8002173/ASUU-raises-alarm-over-governments These folks will never learn. Imagine trusting the Nigerian government to honor agreements. The last time they went on strike I said it here that they should hold on as long as possible even if the strike last for years, they should wait for the government to implement whatever promises they agreed to first before calling off the strike if not they’ll be back to the beginning of their struggles in few months time. Nigerian Fg doesn’t obey court orders and doesn’t honor agreements unless such orders and agreements favor them. Very funny country. 10 Likes |

GloriousGbola: That app - TikTok is an evil app. Because of the hype surrounding it, I decided to download it. Any time I login and hope to spend only few minutes, but before I know it I end up spending hours there and missing important gigs. I just knew that shit wasn’t meant for me and deleted it immediately[ with tears in my eyes] 3 Likes |

TemporaryHansel: petrol is 1.29 US Dollars per litre so assuming the current batch was brought in when dollar was 1200 that is 1548 - 568 which means a subsidy of 980 / litre you could simply do that small calculation instead of hopping on gejs dk gej and buhari were bad presidents GEJ was a spineless spenthift who let nigerias money run through his fingers - buhari was a project man stuck in the past who wasted the small money we had on misguided projects. the two truths are coexisting if you want to lie to yourself that gejs actions are not part of what set nigeria on this path, feel free to engage in 20/100 hindsight 3 Likes |

GloriousGbola: Why is your man tinubu, who is a good president still paying subsidy? I thought he said no more subsidy on his Inauguration Day? Your man keeps proving that he can’t keep to his words. In 1997 he said he doesn’t believe in one Nigeria, yet he still went ahead to campaign for president in the same country he said he doesn’t believe in. 7 Likes |

GloriousGbola: They kept mentioning it in their videos. U go know say na common pain point be that. In fact, I have seen videos of some people accusing the nollywood actresses deserting MC in his current predicament. Someone even did a video advising Sego to beware of the nollywood actresses that will be trying to cross over to his side. |

TemporaryHansel: let him fully remove it so we can start paying n2000 / litre . is that what you want? because i see people complaining bitterly about the skyrocketing cost of living, and you are defintely among them. so for the purpose of performative activism, you are calling for tinubu to completey erase this reinstated subsidy which will lead to even more inflation make it make sense . 2 Likes |

Itsrm: the funny thing is most of us here are adults with responsbilities and we know how it goes. once your income has reduced you will adjust your lifeteyle or be forced to adjust we did not adjst our lifetyle and now we are being forced to adjust. others have outlined exactly why we are where we are. if you want to believe there is some sort of magic where our reserves will suddnely grow, our oil production will suddenly jump im all ears You can't on one hand praise him for taking the hard decision to remove it and still praise him for returning it. i am not praising him for returning it - but i recognize that with the current state of things, he may have no other choice. unless we want to accelerate the riots everyne is warning about 2 Likes |
