Good day all, so I have decided to take a step on acquiring solar.

I want to start with buying a 200ah, 12v tabular battery, where can I get a good one?

I think you should start by having an optimally designed system, then if you are buying in bits, except for a lithium battery pack, battery should be bought close to when you are ready to install.

Tabular battery 250k budget
4 panels at @50 each cost 200k
1.5kva because of dollar budget 199k.
Charger controller 40k

The rest, 50k for sort ham

I need to learn this shiii...how do you guys just size a system without no prior recourse to the load it is supposed to power? undecided

Hello guys. Please help me out. (I am willing to pay consultation fee)

My MPPT ratings is this:
Max Current: 40a
PV input power
12volt system: 12v 540 watt
24volt system: 24v 1080 watt
36volt system: 36v 1620 watt
48volt system: 48volt 2160 watt.

I want to use charge my double 12volt 200ah batteries. To follow the specification, I arranged with a someone to help me get a 600 watt solar panel. Because 600watt solar panel won't come in 12 volts. I paid for four 12v 150watt panel.

When the panel was delivered, it was a double 24v 300 watt panel. I insisted on returning it but the seller was aggressively convincing that the specs won't matter. 24 volt will still work and all that.. blah blah blah but I gave in sha.

Since I have connected it, I feel like the charging is not working to its maximum. The charge controller specifications is 24v 1080 watt but I am using 600. Maybe that is why it is not working to the maximum.

So far, the highest I get is 240watt an hour when the sun is at its brightest. I don't know what to do.

I don't know if I should sell the panel and but another set of four 12v 180/150 watt and sell this one.

Or I should buy another inverter which is 24volt and wire my battery in series.

Or I should buy another MPPT charge controller?

Please help out.

What is your inverter system voltage? Is it a 12v system or a 24v system?

How is your 24v solar panels connected? Is it in series or in parallel?

You can share picture of your battery connection and the mppt solar charge controller display (during sun hours). This can help answer above if you find it difficult to do that.

12v system.

It was wired in parallel but when I moved to a new apartment, I tried to wire it in series if there's going to be any changes. I didn't notice any significant difference.

You have chosen the longer route to knowledge, which is trial and error.

Firstly, your panels will not always give you 100% of their rating, then factor in other losses and weather conditions. Your 600w panels are sorely undersized to charge those batteries let alone max out the controller amperage.

Some factors that may affect the performance of solar panels include:

1) The quality of the 300w panels. Some 300w solar panels are not truly 300w. They may have the 300w sticker, but in reality they are at most 220w or 250w.

2) The orientation of the solar panels. Some roofs make it hard to get the best yield from the solar panels, especially when special roof mounting structures are not used to adjust the tilt angle . Nigeria is slightly north of the equator, so solar panels have to face south. However, since Nigeria is so close to the equator, panels would be facing almost upward with only a slight southward tilt... maybe less than 10°.

3) Shadow factors. If your solar panels are fully or partially shaded, the yield produced will be low.

4) Mounting solar panels on the wrong side of the roof. The direction of the roof affects the amount of sunlight that the solar panels can receive. Best to mount it on the south side see No 2 for reason.

5) Dust. Everyone is experiencing low yields, especially now that the dust has covered most panels.

6) Solar panels rarely deliver 100% of their rated wattage at all times. The actual power output depends on various factors such as weather, temperature, and time of the day.

Solution: Check you are not constrained by any of the above, and also consider increasing the number of solar panels to four. Two numbers of 300w solar panels may not be enough for sufficient charging of your current battery set up.

Means ur mains is on and ur system is not inverting at that moment, ur bypass capacity is always higher than that of ur inverter, check ur inverter manual for clarity.

In addition I got a deal for about 10 x 355wp panels yet to be delivered though.

Cost outlay

I am so excited about it's features and flexibility.
