He said Blackface was the leader of the defunct Plantashun Boiz that brought 2Baba to the spotlight. The veteran singer appeared as a guest in the latest episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu, Deity Cole, and Husband Material. Speaking in Pidgin, Abdulkareem said, “Most of the things wey 2face be today, na Blackface make am happen.” DAILY POST recalls that Blackface, 2Baba then known as 2Face, and Faze were once members of a band called Plantashun Boiz. The band defunct after they split, launching their respective solo careers. Blackface had in several interviews accused 2Face of being responsible for their split. Music fans in Nigeria already knew Tuface before they started knowing more about a group called Plantashun Boiz or any artist called Blackface. Tuface was the one who actually helped both Blackface and Plantashun Boys to become popular all over Nigeria. The artist that first brought both Tuface and Blackface to the limelight was Tony tetuila when he featured them in his popular song Omode Meta. In the song, Tuface was that lanky young boy with a sweet voice singing " oh o! s'ere o, won n s'ere ayo..." Only a very few knew Blackface or Plantashun Boys during this time. I stand on my word that Tony tetuila made both of them popular, and Tuface was the first to come to limelight in that group. I never said Tuface started the group, but he was the fans' favorite. On this one Edris is very correct .If you were Festac brought up you would know it was Blackface that brought Tuface to Lagos ,scouted him in his uncles”s apartment in Festac while they formed Plantation boys . Blackface started having problem because of his wife (Dayo) who used to flirt around with sugar daddies as at then ,leading Baba to always high on ganja and lost concentration.
