What happened to the smk? What was the setup like with it in terms of protective devices/panels seeing as its just the inverter that got bad and needs replacement from ur submission. That wud help in advising u further.

SMK inverters are bad. A friend bought two and the two had problems in months.

Hi House.
My charge controller drops from 5 bar ( 13.6 volts ) to 3bar ( 12.4 volts ) after full charge on a load of 150 watts within 2 minutes.

What could be the issue ? Setup was done a week ago.

Note had to charge with external intelligent 20amps charger to full bar.

This is my set up :
1. 2 x 335 watt GCL panel in series
2. 60 amp PWM Charge controller
3. 220amps Caesar tubular Battery
4. 1KVA MSW Inverter

The main issue is the battery dropping from 5 bar to 3 bar on the charge controller with 2 minutes once load is applied on the the battery.

When using a PWM controller, for a 12v system, ideally your panels should not go beyond 200w per module except the distance from PV to your controller is very far.

If you want more power, then you parallel more panels of same range and make proper cable provisions for minimal voltage drop before power gets to the battery.

Recommendation:

1. Buy an MPPT controller
2. Change your panels to 200w units and parallel them, then sell of the 335w modules
3. Buy more 335w modules and parallel with existing units.

Note that apart from the total load on your system, in this case 150w, how long you run this load(s) on the battery and time of day also matters aka load profile.

My big ogas bigrovar, niyi I can't recall other names now, and anybody with useful advice.

Please has anybody used a 3 phase, 50kva that can be paralleled?

I'ld appreciate some recommendations.

Just Get an MPPT controller to solve this issue.

Agreed, one top user here wrote years ago that it doesn't charge with Generator.

Still running it through its paces and so far so good. Only issue i have is it's slow charging via solar when load is on. Doesnt do so with NEPA

What's capacity of panels connected to it, the VOC of each panel and how many panels did you connect in series?

Thanks boss. Had to edit my post for more clarity.

The issue I am having is that the battery drop from 5 bars ( Full charge ) to 3 bars after 2 minutes or less on any load no matter how small, then remains on on 3 bar for like 3 hours before I power down the setup.

Bassdow said 300w pv is good for pmw cc, even when I argued.
People that do not have sufficient knowledge about RE must be very careful with some information derived from this forum as most of them are misleading.....
I see no reason we should not adopt universal rules here.

Good Day my bosses.
What is the best series or parallel combination for my pv.
I have 2 ploy 300w panels.
2 mono 280w panels.
1 300w mono panel.
Will be adding 4 300w mono panels in a couple of days.
Is the 3s3p or all parallel combo best for me.
Thanks.

Someone on here guided me to disconnect the PV wires and battery wires from the cc and reconnect again, and edit the level of battery charging on the cc(can't remember the exact settings).

That was what we did and everything is working fine now.

3 300watts panel, VOC is abt 39v all connected in series. Max I av gotten with it is abt 350watts. (Max amps like 3 to 3.5 from Isc of abt 9 and Volt is abt 110v). Feel I should be getting better yield though but guess that's the system limitation

Let me say this here, people that have browser internet and read all manner then to spend money more than people that agree they have less knowledge.

Like if you consult someone, you should give the person the allowance to work with his experience.
Clearly state your concerns and leave the remaining for the person

Please where did you counter it ?

I want to go through the counter comment to be sure. Probably there's something you guys said I don't get.

My response was more along the line of if PWM charge controller would work for a 300W solar panel.

Don't forget, I have always often prefered MPPT to PWM charge controllers

wait Oooo, He's refering to a 12-volts system.

You see, my response was along the lines of "if 300Watts solar panel would work with PWM charge controller". Not the scenerio you posted above.
