Go and get a bottle of coke 🍾with a smile , you are getting agitated and all fired up with rage 😡😡.

But why 🤔

It really depends on what unit of measurement will you use to decide world class. For me it's one word CONSISTENCY over time.

When I say Kane, Lewondoski, Mbappe, Ronaldo, Haaland, Salah, Messi, Lukaku, are WORLD 🌎 CLASS what you will notice is CONSISTENCY. These players have been at the top of the goal scoring charts for some over a decade.

VO is an absolute excellent player in what he does with a unique skill set. However, last season 2022/23 after three seasons in Seria A he was the golden boot winner. He did not do that in the Belgium, Bundesliga and French league one.

Now that he has achieved this outstanding accolade the real test is to do it again or at least stay in the top 5. To prove the consistency of world class top quality,it has to be done , in this season and the coming seasons.

Without prejudice I would not call him world 🌎 class yet. He is getting there but has not arrived. Unfortunately this season if he can get to the top 5 that would be outstanding to prove he is truly world class.

Would you call call Martinez, Dusan Vlahovic, Giroud world class ❓

for you mental health avoid this guy. This is not normal any longer. This has been his pattern for years.

Osi came at a time most have given up we will ever have a Nigerian player up there again. it looks too unbelievable to many that such a player could rise to the ranks so quickly. I mean it was looking as if No Nigerian could never win APOTY again, that's how we have fallen so badly even within Africa, even at Lille, the guy was delivering and he continued in Italy, which European league will he not excel in, and yet someone thinks he's not world-class. Some people have problem o, they say seeing is believing but in Osi matter, the player may need to die and resurrect before they can believe.

You are being too fanatical and loosing all sense of rationality in an emotive roller 🎢 coaster.

When I call Mbappe world class it's because he has been top of the scoring charts in the French league for the past 5 years plus that's astounding consistency in addition he does it for France in every competition.

Essentially VO has had one break out season where he got the golden boot, absolutely fabulous. Does it make him world 🌎 class to me No, but Yes on the journey to getting being world class.

He had two good seasons at Seria A not exceptional, he had another good season in French league and a good one in Belgium league.

You said so quickly it's taken him , I would not say that. My view it's taken him almost 7 years to get to this level, throughout sheer hard work relentless determination and through injury as well. That level being highest goal scorer in Seria A last season.

Football ⚽ is a marathon not just a sprint. Remaining at the top is even harder than getting there.

That final was ours' to loose and jpajero did not disappoint. Having played 5games straight up using dsame formation, personal opinion wise I was expecting the rigid coach to tweak his formation-since he has nothing to loose; but alas he handed the cup on a platter of gold to CIV. After he discovered dat formation he was just too predictable.

We could have still won that match if he made changes early and replaced all the tired or injured players..
Even with the same predictable formation, the players did their part, they just needed their coach to do his..

the only issue I had with jpes was the personnel used in the match. Civ didn't really play anything different from the group stage match. It was our injured players that made the difference.

That guy and his hypocrisy..
There waa a time he used to rubbish the Turkish league especially when we used to call up players from there, but the moment one of his innit boys, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru moved there, he stopped criticizing the league and clamoured for Bashiru's invitation.. ironically, he bragged that Bashiru was headed to AC Milan until they guy carry am handicap anf ended up in Turkey

It is generally low level league 😕 I haven't changed.

However, there are some outstanding players there, very simple.

Stating the facts is not bragging, Fisayo playing for league one Sheffield Wednesday refused to renew his contract and generated bids not just interest from Championship, EPL and other clubs from Europe.

He settled for the money 🤑 and went to Turkey, in that poor league he is still generating interest. I wonder why 🧐

and 7 years to you is still a sprint? what a contradiction! At this point, it's obvious to everyone that you're confused. The more you talk about this player the more you're confirming his exceptionalism. English is just your problem. You're expecting him to be Methuselah before he can convince you he's world-class. Sincerely, the bolded part do baffle me but if his contract is to be extended he needs close monitoring.

I do know, National Failure Federation we never hire A grade a coach because there is always no money but we were all here when Algeria offered humongous amount to jpajero, an oil producing nation like Nigeria. A shame on a nation.

Bro, I disagree on your analogy. To me, a world class player is a player that can play at the highest level and is extremely competent regardless of his consistency. For example,Ronaldinho prime was from 2002 until 2006 and he was world class during that period. Afterwards, he lost form and sadly went into oblivion. On current form, there are not many number 9 better than osimehn and he is presently capable of excelling at the highest level. Osimehn main roadblock has been his inability to perform at big games and once he sorts that roadblock, the sky is the limit. He is the type of player that will guarantee you goals against small teams while being quiet at semi, finals etc. furthermore, he is definitely a world class striker in 2024
Every goalscorer is as good as his team mates. I wonder how people expect a player in a team that played 80℅ of a match in their own half to just conjure goals. A striker can only score if he has opportunity of even shooting. If a striker is denied of that he will become anonymous. Carry halland and put in burnley. Play him against Man City. I want check something.

Sir Marjori, cuz JP reached the final then I should not say my minds on his tactics.

Pls we are here to talk football and not necessarily we should be on the same page.

Ekong is out for the rest of the season to justify my earlier comment.

Yes a very tactical coach will not forced injured players to play with 25 man squad.

JP should understand needs to maximize his full team than forcing players to play through pains.

Oh 1994 team, you forgot that it takes a very good team to come from behinds and leveled up,especially in semi and final games, twice against CIV and once against Zambia.

Pls go and watch 1994 team matches again to really understand the team

Yes I did not believed in the team and does that make unpatriotic. My man it is football we are talking here.
Like Goke7 said if Jpes had played subs in place of the regular team and we lost, he would have been blamed to no end with people repeating the mantra that you never change a winning team.

Before Afcon, he set his team up to play as many attackers as possible, he was criticized. He was forced by the situation in CIV to adopt an ultra defensive strategy, he was still criticized.

The truth is that he's damned if he does and still damned if he doesn't.

All I know is that I am grateful to our players for the wonderful effort. Shikena

In all my years here I avoid tagging people as being hateful on the basis of their views but I've seen enough of komekn to know he's biased to the point of being hateful towards Nigerian players. His attack is usually aimed at the most successful or potentially successful among the new generation of our players.

One time it was Iheanacho. Then Osimhen.

If another Nigerian born player displaces VO, trust me, he will direct all his vitriol towards that player.

Yet he's never so critical about foreign born players. Those ones he hypes, lauds, pampers and makes excuses for them.

Your words in bold is wisdom packaged for free for people like komekn who talks cho cho cho all the time. Sometimes keep quiet and let time judge.

My point here,do we need to play players out of steam to the extent they are ruled out of the season due to injuries when we have players who can do it on the bench.I’m not talking of changing the whole team but forcing two or three players to play can affect the team.

JP can do better in this regard next time.
