Mine is not a feeling just an analysis of where we now are viz a viz the points we have, that outcome is likely.

Nwakali is one of Eguaveon's favorite players
How? In Afcon 21 he played just one match. He wasn't part of the double headers WC qualifying matches. So how did you reach this conclusion that he's one of Eguavoen's favorite players?

My fears about continuity are coming true.

Many may not fancy JPes but NfF(It's a Nigerian thing) has a perchance for making predecessors look better than the new ones. Echelon Ineptitude.
I really don't understand how just about everyone is saying that the appointment of Eguavoen means Nwakali is back. How many matches did Nwakali play with Eguavoen in charge?

He is not.

If he was, he would have been invited for the Ghana match.
I'm surprised at this totally unfounded assertion that Nwakali is one of Eguavoen's favorite players.

Does Eguavoen even have favorite players?

I have said it numerous times here, that we played our best football under Equaveon.

I said we could have easily walked over 2021 AFCON if Iwobi was not red carded against Tunisia though we were a goal down.

Equaveon was the most unlucky Nigerian coach in recent history.

He drew Ghana home and away without a single midfilder completing 180 minutes! In fact he had no single DM/AM in the 2nd half at Abuja. (All injured)!
(No Iwobi, Ndidi, Onyeka first half in Abuja, Bonke-first half Accra).

Equa and Finidi should be given time no matter what happens! Time and support!

Welcome back Nwakali!

God bless Nigeria!
I really liked Eguavoen's team play and wanted him to continue even after the WCQ miss. We should give room for people to learn and grow. Success is not magic

But where are you guys getting this on this bandwagon that Nwakali will be back? Does the facts support it? He was part of the Afcon 21 team. He featured in the dead rubber game and nothing beyond that. That doesn't speak to this forgone conclusion that with Eguavoen Nwakali is back.

Very nice point but what many miss is the true picture. After the success of Pep Guardiola and Spain, there was a massive understudy of the system and overhaul of team tactics.

A lot of teams adjusted and picked ideas to boost their plays.

So why the success diminished was actually due to the superiority of the system and adoption of it by other teams.

Take talented players without the current ideas and they will be vanquished by less talented players that are sound with the tactics.
National team dominance is just tournament by tournament. Nobody rules for decades like in league football.

Where's spain's dominance today? You put out several long quotes about how Spain carefully planned football led to success. Nothing new. Nothing exceptional.

I've shared the book 'Das Reboot: How German Soccer Reinvented Itself and Conquered the World' on this thread.

Where's Germany today? Yes still a footballing giant but dominating? Certainly not.

So mastery is good. Having developmental strategies is good but if you think it would guarantee you dominance, you are deluded.

It is actually proven by Spain.

Remember the quote.

I'm shocked. Must be some form of hypnosis the way everyone is singing the same welcome back chorus.

I use to think this way before too. The truth is God still honors the covenant that God had with Abraham for the Jewish people. They were supposed to be the light through which other nations will be drawn to God. God raised them for that. It has nothing to do with them being good people, it is just a gift and calling of God, which the Bible says it is without repentance [irrevocable]. They have a small population of 6 million yet they are very effective and successful, only God can do that.

the two guys that also invented Google/YouTube are Jewish. Albert Einstein is Jewish. The founder of Dell is Jewish, the people behind Warner Bros, creators of Popular fictional Characters like Superman are Jewish. God greatly prospered Microsoft when a Jewish man—Steve Ballmer was appointed CEO of the Company in 2000, just like God greatly prospered Potiphar's house when a Jewish man—Joseph was put in charge.

The greatest and most popular figure of all—the Lord Jesus Christ himself is Jewish

I will like to also add here that although the Lord Jesus was a Jew, he was also a Gentile because his ancestry was made up of Gentiles too—the likes of Tamar, Ruth, Rahab. He could save and redeem both Jews and Gentiles because he was one of them.

He will be assisted by Finidi George, who has stayed the longest with Peseiro among all indigenous coaches appointed to work with the Portuguese by the Amaju Pinnick led board for 22 months.

Midfield problem finally solved😂😂😂

I'll take Eguavoen even on interim capacity 10x over Peseiro, Egu's team actually played beautiful attacking football at the AFCON 2021, that QF loss against Tunisia was just down to a string of unfortunate events (like Iwobi's red card and a plethora of misses from us).

At least the Nwakali fans can be happy cause he will finally be back in the team if we get to play international friendly games, Eguavoen might even be allowed to prosecute the WCQ games cause finding a brand new coach outside the obvious candidates (Amunike, Oliseh etc) will be hard and expensive with little time to bed in his coaching philosophy.

At the bolded, nff knew jpajero contract will expired at the end of AFCON and to stay or go is fifty fifty, if theirs ' have been a meticulous organization they won't be giving a coaching job in interim capacity to a coach in some few months to a crucial WCQ, so if Nigeria did not qualified is not because we lack players but due to organization deficiency

I think he is good.
We lost our match under him due to goalkeeping problem then. I fancy his philosophy (attacking football). With this current hitmen we have, we may start seeing loads of goal again 😎

Eguavoen is a terrible choice. Oliseh should be their top priority. His record in Europe speaks volumes about how good he is.

I know he can be hotheaded, but he is the best candidate for the Super Eagles job.
Oliseh should never near the Super Eagles

Peseiro might still return.. his contract expired, so it's up to NFF to offer him a new one.
One thing is for sure, he will want a better deal than the one year deal that just expired..

Nff cannot bankrupt themselves trying to hire him. It's better he goes now. We can't pay his demands and he will take us to court.
He is not our saviour and is just average.
Let him go now and forget him.

I watched Chavez vs Arouca which ended 5-1 in favour of Arouca and those goals were scored within the space of 58 minutes,Nwakali got subbed out in 60 minutes and I came to realize that eagles would need more than Nwakali to bring stability to our midfield…I trust local coaches, time to see Daga,Akinsanmiro,Eletu,Bashiru and Nwakali in the folds. These guys just need wildcards invitations and hope to see them doing what Nwabali did to our goalkeeping dept.

If midfield issue is not solve we are not going to WC.
