Might not be a scam.

Depends on the type of lease. In some cases, the private seller sells the car to offset the loan. Usually the buyer asks the seller how he intends to clear the finance so can buy the car.

celi4ever2k5:
I remember seeing a post by Lexusgs430 warning about scams on the marketplace when buying a used car. I had an experience where a private seller listed a vehicle for sale on Autotrader, claiming no damage (non-Cat S/C/D/N) or stolen history. However, the CARVERTICAL report showed that the car had an active lease. When I contacted the finance company, SANTANDER CONSUMER FINANCE, they advised me against buying the vehicle. I want to warn new migrants to be cautious of such scams. I had to lower my preferences and buy from Arnold Clark since I needed a car urgently for work.

My Intl Passport will expire September this year. Please how long does it take to get a new passport in UK after application and when is the best time for me to apply?

Thank you.

The seller did not mention that the vehicle had outstanding finance or was on lease.

You can watch this video to learn more about the experience I mentioned. I am not prepared to deal with the stress that comes with ownership or the lack thereof.

Can you tell how you went about the research for the lender without using Mortgage advisor? Thank you

Congratulations.
Sorry for the late response, just seeing this. We went to all the banks, building societies and credit societies in our city centre and made enquiry about their mortgage. Eligibility criteria, because we don’t have ILR yet, interest rate, product fee and everything. Banks like Lloyds , Barclays, Santander didn’t have mortgage advisors in branch but we were given their number and we rang them. We did between 8 to 10 lenders and eventually chose Barclays because of good rate, 10% deposit and great terms and conditions.
Lloyds have great terms too because I bank with them but they require 15% deposit. Any bank you choose will give you a mortgage advisor which you don’t have to pay for their service, they are paid by the bank or finance company they work for.I hope this helps. Cheers

The nurse has worked in the NHS for 15 years but she was still referred to as "Nigerian born" in the article lol

The consequences of her actions could have been avoided as the judge remarked
" When you are entitled to something, you are entitled to it, but when you're not, you're not."
It's the Daily Mail, and it's literally their job to whip up racial hatred. Unfortunately for this Nurse, she will most likely be kicked off the NMC register.

You dodged a bullet...... Never buy a car with outstanding finance or logbook loans...... (Unless the seller is clearing the finance, in your presence)...... And you call the finance company afterwards........ If you don't want that stress, another much better vehicle, is always around the corner........😂

The importance of conducting an HPI check.......

This has got nothing to do with racism.

The nurse knowingly broke the law. She knew she wasn't entitled to the parking permit and forged her way around it. Her contriteness is what spared her a harsher sentence.

Walsall is cheaper than other parts of Birmingham...one bus to city center, depending on the particular area of Walsall. Accommodation is manageable.

Interesting read!

"A single year’s intake of international students in 2021/22 generated nearly £42bn for the UK economy"

"Only 3% of the public have any idea of the scale of that contribution."

Walsall like NezzyMike said, is one of the cheapest places in West midlands, cheaper rent, bus service is great, they have tram services also, train services isn't that easy but it's central to Birmingham and Wolverhampton also, it's black friendly also but I havent been to everywhere there so I cant be 100% on that. Its a great place overall because you can work in Birmingham and live in Walsall, it's a good place

Your insurance broker or insurance company in Nigeria should be in a position to help.

Tell them your policy number and what you need

Does anyone know why an insurance company won’t renew your premium.

I reached out to the customer care but they couldn’t give any reason.

I don go back to admiral jeje since marshmallow has refused to give me a renewal quote.

Only downside is admiral says I can’t protect my 2 yrs NCB. The minimum is 4years

£20 per day is equivalent to £7300 a year. Thats over 300% . There is no safe investment that'd give anything close to that.

Even £20 per month which works out to 12% is a very far stretch.
Safe GBP investments are in the range of 3-5 % at the moment. Most potentially higher returns = more risk

If any "low risk" investment, could guarantee £20 daily returns, on a £2000 investment....... None of us would bother going to work........ 🤣

I go just find £100,000 loan, put am for this "low risk" investment...... 😜😭😂

Taal17:
She is Nigerian born na, even with UK passport she is recorded as having naturalized citizenship
It's a classic example of racial microagrression - a way the media has used to frame public thinking over time.

It was more rampant in the past moreso in reporting misdemeanours by healthcare professionals. Classic example was that of Dr. Hadiza Bawa as every article then began her story with 'Nigerian born...' It was years after the incident I got to know she had spent years in the UK and even went to uni here. When they do well, its not 'Indian born' or 'Nigerian born'. For some reason, some news outlets stopped using that format after a while

It's not about whether those statements are true or false but what they dubiously set out to achieve. What it does is create in the mind of readers a subconscious racist narrative that foriegn born/BAME workers are inherently less capable. Not just that, it festers on in institutions as institutional racism where the immigrant or BAME staff is always scapegoated when things go wrong and much more likely to be reported to the regulator than a white colleague.

This has raised the most dust in medicine. A judge had to recently blast GMC for being institutionally racist due to clear bias on how they handle cases. Of recent, it was the case of a doctor who was suspended due to a flimsy disagreement around a laptop which drew the ire of all medical bodies as it was almost certain not to have happened if she was British white.

Next time you see that phrase, remember what the author is targeting.
Examples abound- The UK football team reached the first major football final in decades thanks to several black players- no one remembered their skin colour until they lost the penalties then unprintable names started being passed about. Or is it Megan? Even the IHS you pay today was largely thanks to such narrative.

Daily Mail strikes again. Its "investigations" have played a big part in the tightening of various immigration policies over the past 20 years because love or hate them, they have a large reader base and influence.

Cash for care jobs.....people were warned that the clampdown day would come but they said "they (the UK) need us more than we need them"

And now dodgy care agencies and homes are losing their licenses left and right, and when the new policy kicks in officially next week, it's going to become very difficult to get a care cos due to an oversupply of immigrant labour,
tighter CQC regulations and greater home office scrutiny.

Smh, too much "overdo".... same way the masters route got cast

I agree with your write-up.

However I do think there is a bit of a double standard/victim mentality amongst some immigrants who would cry out as "victims" of the white man racism, but often times display or ignore worse discrimination against other clans or tribes in their own home country. Even in the UK I've heard Nigerians slur a fellow Nigerian just on the basis of their tribe. Indians are largely the same. They only recognise "ism" when it's directed at them.

So while we speak out against racism in the UK,whether real or perceived, let's also be introspective and speak out loudly against any form of discrimination among your own people.

High-risk investment dey average 8-15% ROI per year and you are looking for a low risk investment with 365% ROI per annum?

If such exists people no need to dey work naa. Just investment £50k and make £500 quid daily. Even bank no go dey give you mortgage at less than 5% interest rate
