China has a population and a land mass that is way much more bigger than Nigeria yet the Chinese enjoy uninterrupted and affordable electric supply. There’s electricity, water and WiFi access even in remote villages. Make una no dey make excuses for the failure that Nigeria has become; e no make sense one bit. Nigerians would’ve been living better and prosperous lives if our leaders, and politicians hadn’t been inherently corrupt and inhumane. Stop making excuses for the failure that Nigeria has become. As a Nigerian, my greatest desire is to see a better Nigeria in which affordable electric and all the basic amenities of life aren’t considered a luxury for only a few well-off citizens.

Let's face realistic expectations. Let's know exactly what happening in other countries so we don't give ourselves with high blood pressure. OP made some valid points. For example, people had often unfairly compared us with a small country like Ghana. Indeed, it is easier to power a smaller population than big one. But Nigeria can do much better if not for past vision less leaders that we had and fantastically corrupt politicians. I am looking to this current govt to break the jink of power and other issues. Irrespective of what anyone might say, Tinubu remains the most visionary leader Nigeria has had and Lagos has proven that with it's steady progress when compared to other states. Lagos would have been on 24/7 electricity since 1999 if not for envy. Tinubu was the first to attempt to do IPP for Lagos in 1999 but was frustrated by the Federal govt who said you must feed whatever you produce into the national grid. Now that he is at the Federal himself ,I expect fast electrification of the country. He only needs little time to stabilize his govt then the goodies will start rolling in.

Do you enjoy throwing insults at people in order for you to be heard? It baffles me that some Nigerians still defend the failure that Nigeria has become despite all glaring indicators that Nigeria has performed abysmally low when juxtaposed with nations that have less natural resources than it has. China has a population of over 1.24 billion people yet there’s adequate electricity supply for everyone. Even in heavily industrialized parts of Northern China, and commercial hubs of Southern China where in summer temperatures can reach 30+ degrees, the govt still ensures there’s electricity supply by urging consumers to turn off electronic appliances that are not being used. If a huge country like China can provide electricity for its citizens, what is hindering Nigeria with a population of about 240 million people from providing stable electricity for its citizens? Again, I urge you, stop making excuses for the failure that Nigeria has become. Have a good one!

Even 35 years ago china's power crisis could never be as bad as Nigeria's power crisis today. China then could be at Nigeria's level then in terms of power crisis. But did you know that Nigeria's power problem has gotten worse since then?

Since December the #1000 worth of units I bought has not being exhausted, for you to know how bad the situation is. For weeks we go without power, in the same area where we used to have at least 12 hours per day on average.

Also, don't forget the fact that this is an energy rich country. No matter who you compare us to, that fact alone should tell you that something is terribly wrong with Nigeria. If someone like you becomes the president you are not going to do anything about Nigeria's case. You would find succour in the belief that other countries are also suffering.

Nigeria's population is not bigger than Indonesia's own but their situation is not as bad as this. Do away with this kind of cold comfort.

Germany was NOT “almost completely wiped out” in WW2.

Their power grid wasn’t destroyed. A few cities getting bombed doesn’t mean the country’s infrastructure was destroyed.

And have you heard of the Marshall Plan? The US gave Germany tens of billions of dollars to rebuild for free!

As for Indonesia, they are not way ahead of Nigeria. Their GDP per capita is $4,300 and Nigeria’s is $2,300.

Indonesia got independence in 1945, and are 87% Sunni Muslim, so less friction in society unlike Naija.
