Lol.. Some of the highest expatriate employers in this country are the Chinese and Lebanese. Na the same Chinese wey we dey owe left right and centre we expect to pay up? The government should come up with a compulsory quota of Nigerians that must be employed in all those oyibo firms 54 Likes 5 Shares |

If you cannot pay the fine, then employ Nigerians. Nigeiran companies should only hire expatriates for jobs Nigerians cannot do. If you have over 133 million able-bodied people living in multidimensional poverty in a country of 225 million people, it's enough to declare a state of emergency across all industries. 38 Likes 2 Shares |

Nothing wey you fit do to please Nigerians. A lot of Nigerians have been clamoring for this sort of indigenous act, that prioritizes Nigerians over expatriate employees, yet a Nigerian body is trying to revolt against it. 30 Likes |

Of course, they would push back. They would rather continue paying millions of dollars to lowly qualified expatriates from China, India, Thailand, Philippines e.t.c. than train and hire Nigerians to take up those jobs. Something that can't happen in those countries I listed. 16 Likes |

If it would deter investment opportunities. Then accept their terms, but make sure there are all paid in the currency of the country (Naira) in which there are working. I see no reasons why expatriate are been paid in dollar while there are working in Nigeria. The double standard is much. And also, always before giving the position to expatriate, the Nigeria labour union should make sure there is no local man to fill in the position first. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Or the government should sell you dollar at a special rate of N10,000 to $ whichever you prefer. Most of your so called investment are not exporting anything else you will have enough $ to pay your expatriate staff. Imagine dangote employed 11,000 Indians he will go to CBN and start asking for $ to pay them some fictitious salary scale. Idiots 7 Likes |

But they are not afraid to bill Nigerian Students thousands of Dollars. Its a good move as it will encourage Local Content. We shouldn't be afraid of reciprocity from any country afterall Nigerians abroad can testify on how much they part with just to be a common caregiver. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Although I am an Anti-tinubu government policies. I totally agree with this policies. A lot of our jobs are been taken away by foreigners especially Lebanese ,indians , Chinese, beninese and togolese. .this are most job that can be handle by Nigerians. Nbote: I think it should be the other way round... Give the employers a quota or ratio of expatriates to Nigerian in technical and administrative jobs and no quota in non technical and non administrative roles... Also tax considerations for companies that train Nigerians for administrative and technical positions even for sending them outside to head divisions or technical jobs. |

seunmsg:Yes oo. Of course they can pay the money. But they want to maximize their own profit at the expense of Nigerians. As far as these companies are concerned, they prefer to bring a Chinese man with secondary school certificate to lord and boss around Nigerians with masters degrees in Engineering. 5 Likes |
