El Rufai alleged that 20 years after Tinubu left office, he was still collecting tax revenue from Lagos (sometimes as high as 70% of the state's money).
Elrufai is now a god sent whose message is sacrosanct. All because pandora gringory lost election. Spew all the hate and curses against Nigeria, that fraud will never be Nigeria president.

Same people always screaming there is no job. If you like, insult everything about Nigeria and Nigerian govt, gringory obi will never be president of Nigeria. You can cry more.

Mumu is seeking foreign investors then taxing foreign experts to run away. Can he go to UNILAG and trust any of their doctors or engineers with his life? Who would give us experience. You know he intend to pocket everything eventually.

If you cannot pay the fine, then employ Nigerians. Nigeiran companies should only hire expatriates for jobs Nigerians cannot do.

If you have over 133 million able-bodied people living in multidimensional poverty in a country of 225 million people, it's enough to declare a state of emergency across all industries.
You are a very good man. I have observed a lot of your post. You don't play politics with emotions.
When you see good works, you commend and when you see bad policies, you condemn it without insults.

It is a stupid policy, in the context of Nigeria.

You can't be hunting for foreign investors, and then force them to employ your crooks and poor attitude, low competence afflicted fat bellies in the name of local 'talent'.

Build a country where the environment is conducive, the locals are productive and competent, and the market large and buoyant, and then the foreign investors will beg to come at whatever condition.

Small yansh no suppose dey form shake.

Same engineers and doctors are doing well abroad.
You can blame the medical Infrastructure e.t.c as not been properly funded, but that's also the reason why subsidy and other social programs are being reformed so that there would be no way to fund development.

Did baba deny the allegation? He made it almost 2 years ago. Na lie⁉️

And most importantly; El Rufai (who is a supporter of the president) did he refused/withdraw his own statement?

First off, what even brought elrufai supposed allegation into this if not that Nigeria is infested with some cursed animals whose prayers day and night is the downfall of Nigeria? This is about govt policy intended to favour Nigerian job seekers. But cursed creatures have somehow derailed to what they claimed "elrufai said some 20 years ago".

Lots of companies employ useless "expatriates", bringing in plumbers, carpenters and mechanics to Nigeria and labelling them "Engineers".

I encounter these people all the time and in most cases I know that I can do the job better than them. Yet, they earn many times what Nigerians can dream of earning.

I don't know, somebody who is notorious for taxing his state (even after leaving office) is now charging foreigners 10 million naira and above. Is your head correct to not question such position/motive?

The NECA got it wrong
Because we are looking for investment should not deny our citizens the right to be trained and function in such organisations
Secondly, because investors are leaving should not make us close our eyes on our able bodied youth. If they had been Nigerians working with this organisation if they decide to leave, Nigerian can buy off this organisations. It a win win for Nigeria.

Finally if this employer consultative association cannot list ways they have in recent past ensure that multinationals employ and engage Nigerians instead of expatriate then they should shut up

This levy must stay.

Take this nonsense to biafrasay or radio biafra. That is where foolishness is praised to high heaven. This thread is about govt policy for the benefit of Nigerian job seekers. Or you may go create another thread to discuss what elrufai and other politicians said about Tinubu some one million years ago.
Re: Employers Reject Fg’s Expatriate Employment Levy by Primusinterpares(m): 6:57pm On Mar 04
This levy is not well cut out.
You can't be bringing these laws and at the same time you want foreign investments.

Institutions mandated to monitor the expert quota in the work force in the country e.g labour unions have failed in their responsibilities instead of firing the redundant agencies that are like liabilities to our taxes you are bringing another Draconian law.

Nepotism won't let some people think straight

U don start with tribalism.

How many UNILAG engineers can solely construct the just commissioned Red Line Railway? What of Dangote Petroleum?

Who is going to train them to eventually get that skills from experience? No one would hire a foreigner to do what a local can do for faar less... And Tinubu is a looter.

Let's blame Biafra jor.
Re: Employers Reject Fg’s Expatriate Employment Levy by humberjade: 7:08pm On Mar 04
In saner climes, you must publicise every vacant positions, and at the end, you can only employ an expatriate after you must have interviewed 3-5 locals and deem them unsuitable for the position.

It should be enforced, especially for a country like ours with very high unemployment rate.
Re: Employers Reject Fg’s Expatriate Employment Levy by Diligence: 7:17pm On Mar 04
Tinubuconomics is all about taxes, import Duties, hike interests rates, hyper inflation, expensive items including food items, BUT at the end, you search for what the money was used for, it becomes a case of THEMOREYOULOOKTHELESSYOUSEE!

Most sadly, Tinubu doesn't care about multiplicity effects of his policies!

They must be mad. The fine must stay. Check Chinese companies and see the day light robbery going on there. They bring dead brain Chinese to Nigeria, who do not know his right from left, they make them understudy you for 3-6months, pronto, they become your boss, when you even do an IQ test for these lizards, very very poor, yet they are paid an equivalent of 3-7m naira in Chinese currency.

Where there are no fines, there are no deterrent. Whether Nigerian officials will steal the money is a question of another day, we will treat that with time. Chinese, Lebanese and Indians are enslaving Nigerians in their country through slavery whilst they stay in Nigeria and claim expatriate (expatriate with no good education or intelligence) and become millions in a country swimming in poverty....
Re: Employers Reject Fg’s Expatriate Employment Levy by Goke7: 7:41pm On Mar 04
For any UK organisation to employ any foreign worker from outside the UK, apart from visa fees and health insurance fees, the company also pays an immigration skills charge of over £5k for a 5-year visa. When you add everything altogether it's well over £10k.

Nigerians should be well informed, any sane country will protect its local workforce.

See how they are trying to blackmail the government with "foreign investment". As if, a foreign investor is coming to dash us money.

Same opportunities a foreign investor sees and want to invest in, can be seen by a local investor to invest in too.

But the government should regulate both local and foreign investors for the good of the people.

What do Nigerians know?

Certificate buyers and cruise catchers?

Who wan employ them?

Our universities are only churning out sales boys and girls every year due to poor welfares of tutors in tertiary institutions and other factors like genuine incompetence on the tutors themselves and poor learning environment.

Our national budget can only be said in whispers due to the shameful amount allocated to it every year.

Employable Nigerians are very scarce.
