That's why I said e pass you.

Peter obi the so called best of the three candidates, a man with experience as a bank chairman, as a state governor could not manage or oversee the finances of his campaign. He cannot manage the members of his team

Let me Para phrase - a ceo who cannot keep track of 3.5 billion naira and who cannot keep members of his team in check would be sacked by my board immediately.

Everything happening is an indictment of the ethics and integrity of the obidient movement and of the competence of Peter obi and also of his personal judgement

Who are the members that needs managing

You can manage people you are bankrolling..

Obi-dients isn't a party but volunteers with different jobs outside politics....they are at liberty to accept or reject jobs at their discretion....

In d midst of the movement, there definitely will a mole,a greedy bastard and a Saint......

Obi isn't managing the movement, neither has he chose officials to hold key positions......who do you think is the leader of the movement

LP on the other hand has a chairman that can even remove Obi 4m d platform, the movement isn't hinged on LP but one man called Obi,if he chooses to form a party,Obi-dients movement will remain but LP is gone.....

As it is...the Obi-dients movement is not an organisation that could be managed by anybody, you saw donj calling him a coward, you saw people waiting for a tweet from him so they could hit the street....

I think he will definitely be overwhelmed by the huge support by such diverse crowd and mind you absolute loyalty is not guaranteed......

Talking about managing the finance, you don't expect him to know every drop of donation if there was somebody already managing the account........

He gave accounts of the amount b4 him and promised to go further to audit it...(one of a kind in Nigeria politics).

I think we major too much on the messiah-isque tag placed on him

These ones still dey do campaign after election. I just skipped most of the past pages on senseless political talks.

If you've been following Nigerian politics for long, you won't find all this unexpected or shocking. I don't know what the clowns are celebrating ... campaining after election

Less than one year their principal entered office, he don sink the whole country

Tinubu never spend one year for office, yet many now regard him as worse than Buhari, Nigeria's worst president in history

What's more shocking? It's these same fools that supported Buhari till the last minute before they started criticizing him.

One would have thought they'd learnt their lesson under 8 years of Buhari's failed government. But they're doing the same thing now with Tinubu, a worse version of Buhari

Now, dem dey post useless things all about concerning LP to distract people from the monumental failure of Tinubu

You can't run a government successfully using propaganda. When will APC and their delusional supporters realise that?
As Long Peter Obi name is painted in mud, they are fine.

When you support a criminal, it's right the nearest person is also classified as criminal too

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by livelongprospa: 8:55am On Mar 06
That I have to say this is a shocker.

Obidients exist outside LP.
There's a reason they have been begging Obidients to join the LP and majority has refused.

Now that it is out of the way.

Let us look at the minor actors in the scheme of things yesterday.
Fs Yusuf and serah Ibrahim.

These people supported Obi during the campaigns.
And they were not paid to support.
If anyone has any evidence that both these people took money from Obi or the campaign funds, please come forward.

The back and forth of yesterday was about PDP approaching them for support of their candidate in Edo elections with morris and serah refusing.
While Fs Yusuf agreed.
What Fs Yusuf does outside of Obi is his business.

Serah Ibrahim seems to have been the one to even cast Abure.
The people that ate from campaign funds are traditional LP members that have been in the party and haven't seen that kind of cash before.
Even Okupe so far has not even been mentioned yet in the stealing. Don't you find that funny? We wait and see.

Obidients proved their relevance in 2023, make some of them sef chop dollar. Shout out to all Obidients again. (That one say i dey look for likes and shares 😁). $1000 collected by LP delegate is still small as compared to $100,000 Tinubu gave APC delegates each.

Again i hope all the exposee will help reduce hunger in the land, Yorubas are crying "ebi pawa" while Northerns are looting food in stores, wharehouses and trailers.
LP collect 1k dolls but APC boys collected 100k, guess who are getting dragged the most?

Of course, a criminal will always want to drag others into his stinking level of criminality

It is not apc members who are wilding out on social media accusing each other right left and center while Tinubu looks on helplessly, unable to maintain unit discipline and coherence

I can only hope his silence is not because he too is implicated in this.

https://punchng.com/understanding-new-campaign-finance-law-in-nigeria/

By law the presidential expenses of a campaign should not exceed 5bn

Maybe it is only businesses that are supposed to track their funding and spend to ensure they are not in contravention.

Your argument is that a political party should not have a proper framework for finance and a proper set of rules, but should be freestyled.

You are seeing the results of free styling in real time. Hopefully this mess will lead to properly laws of campaign finance going forward.

Ok, Good! I like this.

1. In January 2024 A chieftain of LP in an open letter requested that Obi gives an account of his campaign funds.

2. In February 2024 Obi releases records of his campaign spendings made available to him by his party's leadership. He didn't stop there, he called for his party's National Working committee to further. (The news was actually reported on February 15th, 2024)

3. The link u posted stated the maximum a candidate is allowed to spend on campaign is N5bn and Obi's campaign had cost N3.5bn .

Now anybody who read ur post earlier would've thought Atiku and Tinubu had released their respective campaign financial report, that they had appointed auditors to audit the records and that only Peter Obi is lagging behind on this.

U might no like to admit the fact , but definitely Peter Obi is a different stock from those other candidates u are trying so hard to equate him to.

As regards being incoherent and looking on helplessly; that is exactly what Tinubu is doing as far as our economy is concerned. This is evident in how things have fallen apart and we are closer to anarchy than we are to a renewed hope. Like the economy and the balance in this country is shaking like Tinubu's arms during the campaign bro

first you have another member of his team on record with a differnt account

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/02/n3-5bn-scandal-peter-obi-seeks-probe-of-labour-party-campaign-funds/

He said, “For the party (LP), I am a member of the party, and they have chosen to say that I am the leader.

“What we need to do in the party, and I have discussed it with the leadership, is that we must now appoint a reputable audit firm to audit and be able to deal with the account of the party.

at least he admits to what you have been denying - that he is the defacto leader of the party. the buck stops at his table and he is ultimately responsible for anything going on in his party. we are still waiting for the audit firm to be appointed. any minute now . . .

U might no like to admit the fact , but definitely Peter Obi is a different stock from those other candidates u are trying so hard to equate him to.

Peter obi ran as atikus vice in 2019. he would have run again as his vice in 2023.

he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. the argument of the average obidient has always been that peter obi is different

Wetin be this? That's English now. He says he's a member of the party , but they say he is the leader. Like u don't get his point ?

He further went ahead to say he has gone ahead to discuss with the party's leadership.

For the party (LP), I am a member of the party and they have chosen to say that I am the leader. What we need to do in the party and I have discussed it with the leadership is that we must now appoint a reputable audit firm to audit and be able to deal with the account of the part

What excatly did I say that was different from what he said there? He is a member of the party, they chose to call him the leader but he, me and u know that's not true. He then went ahead to discuss with the real leaders who are the NWC to carry out an audit.

What excatly do u want him to do again? He should kill himself while Tinubu mismanage the country ?

U have only waited 21 days after he released the campaign financial records. We have been waiting for almost a year for UAE to lift visa restrictions on Nigeria, We have been waiting almost a year for CNG buses to hit the streets, We have been waiting almost a year for student loans to materialize, We have been waiting for almost a year for dollar to go back to at least N600.

All parties are required to submit their financials to INEC.
Not the public.
It's when you do crowd funding, then you owe the public explanation. Which both LP and APC did.

LP has already submitted some and more to come from an audit facility.

In order to promote accountability and transparency in political finance in Nigeria, the political parties are expected to file three reports to the election management bodies, i.e. INEC. The first is the annual report. S. 86. (1) of the Act says “Every political party shall submit to the Commission a detailed annual statement of assets and liabilities and analysis of its sources of funds and other assets, together with statement of its expenditure including hard and soft copy of its list of members or in such a form as the Commission may require”

The second is election contribution report, S.90 (4) of the Act says “A political party sponsoring the election of a candidate shall, within three months after the announcement of the results of the election, file a report of the contributions made by individuals and entities to the Commission.” The third is the election expenses report. S.89 (3) of the Act says “Election expenses of a political party shall be submitted to the Commission in a separate audited return within six months after the election….”

No be write the law bro. The PDP will submit report of all contributions they received from members, private individuals and entities just like other political parties. They will also submit report of their election expenses. Na electoral act mandate them to do so
