Shut up, do those houses look clustered to you?

You're demolishing beautiful houses like this while people are living in makoko and other slum areas in Lagos.

Stop defending rubbish

Is it okay when a beautiful house is built on a drainage path?
Because it's beautiful it shouldn't be demolished?

Our insane environment is the output of insane minds.

Everything you see around you once existed in someone’s mind.

Restoring sanity requires flogging until the madness flees.

Sadly the developers, builders and rogue planning approval personnel don’t get to bear the direct consequences.

Gistmedia10:
The Lagos State Government's enforcement of building regulations has led to the demolition of several houses in the Eti-Osa area. The demolition, carried out by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), is part of a wider effort to sanitize the built environment and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Reports from the scene in Eti-Osa reveal a significant number of houses being brought down, with LASBCA officials and demolition equipment working tirelessly to clear the area. The affected houses are said to have been constructed without proper approvals, violating building codes and posing potential risks to residents.

Why are you adding pain to those who are already in pain?

Instead of demolishing the houses, the government can ask the landlord to pay a fine.

So says a poor pauper who can't afford house rent talk more of a house.
There is no way an illegal unapproved structures in their hundreds will get to completion stage if they weren't approved by authorities.
You're now poverty stricken to them if you say the truth. Why always judging people you don't even know Why must you always link demolition of houses in Lagos state to one particular tribe when Lagos is not even their land? Why so much hate from you people? Why so much frustration? Why so much confusion

The thing is that they said it’s Eti OSA. What part exactly that’s how we can know if it’s really on a drainage path.

Investing in Nigeria is dangerous!

If you so desperate to invest, look into other countries and continents.

And with dwindling Naira, your value is more protected.

10 beautiful houses on a drainage path can cause loss of lives and properties to thousands.

Beautiful houses or not, as long as they are verified to be on drainage path, the houses should be removed. I am sure the govt would have given a notice period but because some Nigerians are adamant, non chanlant and gullible.. they would still believe nothing go happen..

We shall be alright undecided

After demolishing thousands of Igbo properties without warning, has it removed abject poverty from your people? Bunch of idiots and generational failures

Anyone who builds houses in Lagos without building plan will have his house demolished whether you crybabies like it or not.

To be clear, if I catch any Igbo man building without approval, I will get his house demolished.
Carry your madness to your region.

Come on!!!!! Enough of this tribalism, what is the matter with you people self? Tho I do not blame you because Nigeria lacks good leadership from top to bottom.

Please always reason before you comment & treat your fellow man with respect.

Many houses will go down in Edo as the ban CDA are massively selling roads and lanes guess who are the buyers? My Igbo brothers majorly not limited to. I encourage you from SS not to buy roads and lanes from Beni youths and don't buy power line from them, a good government is coming someday to demolish such houses, the sellers would have already been wayward by then. You can't offend the land by selling illegal lands and have a bright future. Erosion is coming for BENIN CITY. Go punish Lucky Igbinedion and other Governors that didn't follow Ogbemudia master plan.

For the past couple of years most of the houses demolished in Lagos are around that area.

The owner might be targeted, but for them to demolish the house, it means the structure was on the wrong place.

Do you know what that means?

You go see the rubbles on Nairaland

Is this how jobless and pained you are. Bros you are a liar, and we know a liar when we see one.

Go and show your bravery to the bulldozers.

The owners of the buildings demolished at Ikota were more yorubas involved. I guess you didn’t know about this. Until you get arrested for hate speech your eye will clear. If you think you cannot be tracked you are really dreaming.

It's a sad situation but Nigerians like doing illegal things.

Some are saying that the government officials giving out the approvals should be sanctioned. Are you sure there are actually approvals? If these people have approvals then they can go to court.

Government officials are very smart, nobody will risk his job by putting his name and signature on a fake approval. I'm yet to see anyone showing his approval though.

The average Nigerians mentality is that we will cross the bridge when we get there. Money can settle anything- very wrong mentality to have.

I see buildings with stop work sign on them, yet the people keep building after settling the officials. Did they actually address the reason for the stop work sign being put there in the first place? Crazy nation.

Its better to play by the rules
Using corruption to twisted the official
May backfired after the official is gone
You will bear the cost

This time the culprits should be made to face
Criminal charges and also pay for the cost of demolishing.

Go get the damn approval and do the right thing. Nigerians are naturally chaotic, noisy, uncivilised and unplanned people. The beautiful pedestrian and green areas/trees over here has been taken over by street traders.
Oga , Houses don't grow over night. Who approved them ? You collect money , approve it and come back for demolition.
