Count Stanbic IBTC Bank out of that 17, the only bank that has structure and always compliant with CBN policies 100% is Stanbic IBTC Bank.

I just opened an account with Taj bank. Hoping to use it as my piggy.
Omoh there is hardly network when using their app, it did not bother since I may not be making so many transfers from there.

But now, with this news I don dey reason to transfer my money out. I understand that the worst is that it gets merged or acquired, but taj bank does Islamic banking system, so who go merge with am or acquire am with similar system?

Mk i transfer first I dey come.

Citibank is an international bank.

Standard Chartered is an international bank.

Providus is not a full tier commercial bank. It is a regional bank. So most likely will not be required for compliance in this case.

Others most likely will have issues.

But all these are a piece of shit, if these other banks liquidate, do you know the number of people that will end up jobless, hmmm this is a dangerous path, the government shouldn't go through. It's not like these recapitalization has any much effect to the economy. If not safety of customers deposits.

The only Nigerian banks that I think can survive it now are Zentih, GTBank, Access, FBN and may be UBA.

Stanbic IBTC and Eco Bank are pan African banks and will get funds from parent branch.

and you feel fidelity won't survive this? 😆. Fidelity is as strong as uba. But you won't know till action is required.

Re: Bank Recapitalisation: 17 Out Of 24 Banks Might Not Meet CBN Capital Requirement by skj1377(m): 7:18pm On Mar 16
So you want to crumble 17 banks with your useless policy ?? Recapitalisation is not the only way to endure healthy banks. Just monitor the banks effectively. That's how soludo sacked alot of banker's with his so called recapitalisation. Many years down the line nothing to show for it other than some capital market scams .

This should not stop them to recapitalized. The recapitalization was long overdue and not implementing capitalizing on time gave them the enough room to manipulate the exchange rate against our Naira. They were part of the people that created the current Nigeria's problem, let them feel the mess they joint created with Emefiele and our politicians.

You can strongly predict that the surviving seven (7) will include:

Access Bank
UBA
FBN
Zenith
Stanbic IBTC
GTB
… and perhaps one other in that class of strength and stability.

Easy to see in seventeen (17)

Polaris
Providus
Heritage
WEMA
Jaiz
Unity
Fidelity
Union

Which one remain sef?
