An ex governor with no legacy project na em u de hype like this? He is in the same league as Ortom of Benue and Belo of Kogi. If lamba king was president, the only tweets we would have been getting will be things like: "Today, I followed the Aso Rock Kitchen staff to the market to ensure they do not overpay for food, hunder my government, no cook will buy maggi cube wen we can use salt" _ Lamba King OfoIgbo: |

Kukutente23:I don't if Amen at the end of what I av written renders you irrational and unstable.Well,It is a prayer to God for the Mr president that in God's mercy and wisdom he will continue to lead Nigerians aright with policies that will uplift us from economy quagmire of the past governments. Even the holy scriptures enjoin us to pray for our leaders. |

Exparts in the USA said naira would reach 1100 to a dollar in 2024. If you want to keep dollars, it should be for long term (if the intention is to exchange it this year, it might be at a lose). |

Kukutente23:I don't know how Amen in my write up renders you irrational and unstable. Well, it is just a prayer to God for the Mr president that in God's wisdom and mercy he will continue to lead Nigerians aright with policies that uplift Nigeria economy from the state of doldrums and quagmire of the past governments. Even the holy scriptures enjoin us to pray for our leaders. |

seunowa:The Holy scriptures did not say you should be a zombie for our leaders. Praying for our leaders is a double edged sword in the scriptures. You can pray for good or for bad. It is irrational though to pray that naira will rise to the dollar because you're automatically assuming that prayers will just lift the naira up. Faith without works is dead. The needful needs to be done before prayers will manifest. The bible also talks about lying tongues who are fond of telling leaders what they want to hear instead of what they ought to hear. |

mokwechineme: Oscar Wilde said, "A cynic is someone who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing." Stop judging! The 600 rate is no longer possible. Such a rate at this juncture, considering the economy has gone through in the past year will be suicidal. A lot of the fundamentals have changed. Just considering that the minimum wage will most likely be doubled will mean more Naira will be needed to pay these salaries. Buhari left a huge mess with over 90% of government revenue going to service ďebts. That means there's virtually no money left for the government to spend. The government would need to practically borrow every penny to finance the budget. To finance such a huge fiscal hole is inflationary, and such inflation will make the Naira depreciate. It is unavoidable. Experts had already poo-pooed the 2024 budget which was based on $1-N750. They said it did not add up. However, at anything above 1,000, it greatly increases the Naira revenue for the federal government due to the fact that 75% of government revenue is derived in dollars. Do I give Tinubu a thumbs up? No. The appointment of Yemi Cardoso as the CBN governor was a mistake as he lacks the proper credentials. It seems the president wanted someone he could control. This was a huge mistake. The CBN governor needs to act independently of any political interference and that's why the central bank has autonomy. It was such an unholy alliance that sank the economy to its present depth during Buhari's 8 inglorious years. The central banks refusing to hike interests rates to fight the nairas free fall and generally high inflation is worrisome. The number one duty of the central bank is price stability. It is essential that the central banks governor is known for his anti-inflation mettle. This will give confidence to the market. The present Naira's appreciation should have happened long before this had the governor tightened monetary policy. I believe the renewed sale of dollars to the BDCs had more to do with the current Naira's appreciation than any other steps he took to stop the Nairas free fall. Economic reforms need to go deeper. The government needs to not only end the petrol subsidy does fully deregulate the price has already been done with diesel, kerosene and cooking gas. The price of electricity should be fully deregulated. If the Discos and Gencos can not recover their cost, how are they expected to provide power? In African countries where power is constant, it is not cheap. They need to roll out a privatization and commercialization program. Government has been too silent on the issue. I suspect it will be rigged in favor of cronies which would be a shame. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Tinubu took it from 700 to 1900 and now to 1400 which is still 100% increase in 10 months but you're here celebrating mediocrity. Mind you this naira appreciation is because they're defending the naira, something they refused to do at 700 Sirmwill: |

Kukutente23:Your problem is that you are too dull and incomprehensible. Well that's understandable judging from your background. Since you don't understand the correlation between faith and works. I think u need help in this regard. The works are the policies frame work of Mr president to usher in economy prosperity and greatness through painstaking creation of valued chain manufacturing exports. Faith is our believe and confidence in Mr president competency and capacity to deliver on his promises. And we believe in God will continue to grant him wisdom in leading Nigerians aright through progressive initiatives |

seunowa:Your problem is political jaundice aka zombiesm You came here to gaslight the Op not sincerely pray. You offered prayers out of spite against the Op which makes your prayer empty air. God does not regard hypocritical prayers. The policies are disjointed and ill-conceived which is why there's policy somersault already. A bad tree does not yield good fruits. Faith should be in God and his ability to do things and not in an individual especially one who has fumbled so badly within a short timeframe |

9jatriot: Anambra made it from twenty-something to the first position in the education table during Peter Obi's tenure. That alone, is a huge legacy. He was a part of GEJ's economic team that made Nigeria the biggest economy in Africa, after many years of Yorubas and fulanis, not being able to achieve even the second largest economy in Africa. He was the DG of Securities and Exchange Commission when Nigeria beat the crap out of South Africa and Egypt in the economy table. Today, the tweets we are getting from Tinubu and his minions is "All praises to Tinubu for doing so well such that the naira is now 1600 to 1 dollar. Peter Obi must be mad"--certificate forger/drug-dealer peepoos president |

seunowa:I didn't know Amen is used in a non-religious sense. I guess when you're going to your school, you greet your parents Amen. You're beginning to sound like an illiterate. Amen is a word that signifies prayer not any rubbish you're spewing not to hide your zombiesm. You don't really need to be abusive though especially with Yoruba language. That does not give you any mental superiority you know. |

seunowa:oga the,Tinubu was deceived by voodoo economist cum that he wanted acceptance of the western world, that's why he threw his people under the bus In previous government there was foreign investors not that your Tinubu has found the true value of naira, why are investors divesting from the economy You see the actions of Tinubu in managing the economy cannot be defended by the most brilliant economist, except enemy of the state The results is there for everyone to see,if it was a right move,it will have reflected same in the economy |
