Good evening everyone,

I want to ask, is it a good idea to mention in my interview that I am a single mom and my daughter won’t be coming with me as I will be leaving her in the custody of my parents.

Yes you can fill out a new DS160
You don’t have to pay a new fee
Birth tourism is highly likely to get you a denial due to the current immigration issue in the US. In addition, a State.Gov rule to VOs states birth tourism is an impermissible reason to obtain a US visa.
Date issue is above my pay grade… I have no info

Hey 🤠

1. Who told you that this is the only question the consular will ask you before he or she issue or deny your visa ?

2. Single mom or single without kid or married , your visa can be denied or issued . You have to table your whole application profiles to the public in order to receive reasonable opinions .

3. Your question above is like : I am going to London, should i take my clothes from Nigeria with me or i should buy clothes when i get to London. What are you going to do in London in the 1st place ?

You have two options for getting your tax refund: you can either do it at the Galleria mall, where the tax place is conveniently located right beneath the Apple Store. You'll have a clear view of the Apple shop from the tax stand. Alternatively, you can opt to do it at the airport, but this can be more stressful. Keep in mind that not all stores participate in the tax refund, so it's best to check online for the ones that do. Also, note that you'll receive only half of the full amount.

Hello everyone!

My mum has a UK visit visa and she will be visiting in June. She visited the UK previously. She wants to visit my brother in the US. Can she apply for the US visit visa from the UK? Also, she had been denied twice in Nigeria for no just reason. Would this denial affect her application in the Uk?

Also, any one has an idea the current appointment availability in the Uk and how to book it?

Lastly, is it possible to book the interview appointment in the UK without completing and submitting the DS-150 form?

Thank you for your prompt response.

Hey 🤠

1. USA Embassies are not bias towards anybody. For the fact that your mom was denied twice has vindicated the 1st consular who denied her against any mistake. Therefore, your mom was denied for reasons.

2. Yes, she can apply for the USA visiting visa from the UK but her visa application is 95% likely to be denied again . Her previous 2 denials are the major blow which is helping another fact that she does not have any ties in the UK.

3. Your mom has a good travel history but you or anyone doing the process of the USA visiting visa is not doing somethings right . The best place to secure her USA visit visa is still from Nigeria except if she has a UK residency permit.

4. I dont think (that) she will be able to book any USA visa appointment without completing the DS 160 form. Even if she is in Canada, she will have to fill the DS 160. USA visa procedures does not give priority to anyone regardless of location . Your mom USA visiting visa is 85% certain from Nigeria than any other places (because of the 2 previous denials...she should correct what the embassy wants) except if she is a citizen or resident of her new application country .

While the approval rate is very high in Canada, making Canada a better place to do your interview but for the appointment date. You still have a chance in Nigeria. Think about home tie as not planning to permanently relocate to the US as opposed to having your family back in Nigeria.
Your family is in Canada and so you would be demonstrating that you do not have intentions of moving permanently to the US.
You may also keep checking for earlier date in Canada same way you could get an earlier date in Nigeria. Also, if you can demonstrate reason visiting your sister for health reason, or emotional imbalance due to distance from your sister (perhaps a therapist can provide a statement or letter), you may be able to expedite your appointment in Canada.

You still got a chance in Nigeria, I dont think your family being in Canada would demonstrate weak home tie. if not for the date constraint, you are better off going for the visa interview in Canada with 76% B1/B2 approval rate as at 2023 than in Nigeria where it is less than 40% approval rate.

Quick question, since your family is not planning to go with you for the interview in Nigeria (if you eventually decide to do), do you know if you can cancel your family appointment without affecting your own appointment. If you could check and let me know that would be helpful.
I sent you a DM.

Enick:
Hello,

Your advice is needed please.

I and my family of 4 applied for a US B1/B2visa in 2020 but was cancelled by the embassy due to covid. I later had it rescheduled for April 23, 2024.

But he is the issue, we are all in Canada now on work permit while the kids are on study permit.

I need to see my sister in the US and I am also missing home. But attempt to get a early date here in Canada has been unsuccessful.

I thinking of flying back to Nigeria alone to attend the interview but I am wondering if my chance of getting the visa approved is weak since my ties( family, Job, Homes and others) are no longer in Nigeria.

What are your thoughts?

Hello everyone, i went to Us Embassy last Friday 22nd March 2024 for a visitor visa but i made the worst useless mistake even as a regular traveler. My interview goes thus :

V.O : Good morning ,
Me: Good morning sir,
V:O ; You are going to Florida
Me : Yes
V;O ; Why do you choose Florida ?
M;E ; Because of the Beaches and outdoor attractions which makes it one of the best to Visitors.
V;O ; Where are you staying in Florida, is it Orlando Florida or Florida City ?
M:E : I am staying in Florida City.
V:O : How could you stay in a hotel in Florida City and going for look outs in Orlando Florida ? From Florida city to Orlando is about 4 hours drive and very far from your hotel. How did you think of that ?
M;E ; Didn't say anything again because no need.
V.O: What do you do ?
M.E ; I own blabla bla and i deal on blablabla.
V.O : Sorry you are not qualified and the reasons can be found on this paper.
He handed me the paper and i left.

Immediately i came out, I used Google and it was true that Florida city is very far from Orlando Florida.
It is well, i will apply again next year

Hey 🤠

1. If you have handled the whole application procedures yourself, then i will accept your self-blame. Otherwise, those who process the visa application for you are to be blamed for lackadaisical handling.

2. Nevertheless, your lack of mock training (perhaps due to your confidence of travel histories) and the mixed up of your hotel location with travel destination only springboard the consular decision to deny you. That is not the major reason (s).

3. Don't apply with this same gimmick next year . Florida Beaches is an over-used vacation reasons.

I handled the whole application process by myself and also booked the hotel myself but to be honest, i don't know that Florida city is different from Orlando Florida. I don't know if i can still continue but maintain only Orlando Florida during the next application or different city. But i think focusing at Orlando Florida for all my stay and activities will be better but any other ideas from gurus here will help me a lot.

B) I used Florida because my wife has been using it since 2014 and they have not rejected her visa. She just did a drop box last month and was given 5 years. The Florida City and Orlando Florida was my major mistake when i booked my hotel and i guessed they highlighted it when i submitted my application hence the reason why the V.O focused on that part. My wife also had my two kids in Texas around 2016 and 2018 respectively. I am not just lucky … Sad !

2. Should I consider a student visa instead of a visit visa?

Hey 🤠

*** I am used to writing that people should always ask an honest (complete not half baked) questions . My opinion just prompted you to let it out. Don't do that next time sir.

1. Your wife used Florida in the year 2014 which supported my point that Florida Beaches has been over-used. I knew that year we started using the scope and i have used it to secured nothing less than 15 B2 visas for people. ** That's not where we 're going .

2. Now, i am an immigration officer under USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). * Between the year 2016 & 2018 , your wife (who entered the USA via B2 tourist visa) gave birth to your 2 kids - Visa Fraud Committed (giving birth and relocation is now her original intention) - Thats consular's conclusion.

3. Last month February 2024 ( Visa Fraud-Sins Forgiven because she has 2 American citizens as kids already), she was re-issued a 5-years B2 visa as a necessity because of (perhaps medical and other benefits) the kids.

4. Now tell me as a consular : Do you think that i will give you visa on the basis of the same (Florida lies) route your wife got her visa ? ** Fine her visa sins has been forgiving but you (especially the direct next of kin /spouse) and any of her family will have a cumbersome kind of USA visa hearings in the future because of her original entry history .

5. Jettison the Florida idea and tell me you wanna go n visit your wife and kids (next time they all travel) since you v not been there since the year 2016 when the 1st kid was born . Thats the only honesty that can prompt any VO to consider you.

This is not correct. The wife didn’t get a family visa otherwise he won’t be applying for the first time. Their visas are not linked. The immigration officer knows nothing about the wife based on the interview. They are not linked in anyway.

@KASIDAVID
Location has nothing to do with your visa approval. You can as well go to Alaska . However, if you are going for mainly touristic activity, it means you are a seasoned traveller. You can’t leave the whole of kuramo beach, Cape Verde, Zanzibar, Mauritius all of them in Africa to to go a beach in Florida AND YOU CANT PLAN THE HOTEL STAY CORRECTLY. That’s a red flag.

A seasoned traveller knows how to plan his vacation. He stays close to his places of interest while on tourism.

The officer doubted your original intention based on that. Don't work yourself up unnecessarily. Maybe you should go elsewhere before you attend the interview next time. Like I said, if you are so keen about going to the beach for vacation, a visa denial to America won’t stop you since you don’t even need a visa to do the same in Mauritius. Go somewhere else then apply again. It shows your intentions are genuine.

*** In the USA , a person gains the legal status of an adult from age 18.

**** Your chances of getting approved is high if you follow the USA embassies procedures in any of your chosen routes .

1. If you are presently working with a large organisation , then you may consider educational seminars or conferences.

2. Don't attempt visiting families or friends except in occasional cases like " graduations , burial ceremonies or weddings .

3. If you were the person who typed the above questions yourself, without the assistance of anyone to proof-read it before you throw it to the public , then I will consider you a potential student. ** GO WITH THE STUDY ROUTE. Its one of the best types of US visas.

No my wife lives in Nigeria with me and has never stayed in U.S more than 3 weeks each time she travels because she is also very busy here. I guess you think they are based in U.S ? Not at all, my kids are schooling in Nigeria and only visit U.S for few weeks and back to Nigeria. They recently visited Texas last October for two weeks and are back to our base in Nigeria. So i don't think there's anything like breach of Visa protocols at all and we have zero balance even after birthing of the kids till date.

I am the one that needs to avoid that Florida as you have just stated completely. May God bless you for this insight and guidance, i will be following up with any other ideas and information sharing. God bless you all

Hey 🤠

1. I got the hindsight .

2. I will liken your state to 2 ladies (twins) i knew who were married to American citizens . Non of them was granted tourist visa (they tried thrice) in order to visit their spouses until they yield to my advise and applied for spousal visas which ended their ordeal.

3. Just as you have reasoned (with my opinion). Wait till the next time your family are in the USA (perhaps during Xmas or any long holidays) and apply for a B2 visa to visit them. Indicate in your DS 160 your intention to visit your family and that you have the financial and travel experience capability to do so.

4. Another route i can vote for is business travel which can come in the form of conferences , seminars or short professional trainings .

Pls does a person reapplying needs to update her profile with the new ds 160 code? I followed my friend to her appointment last Friday, but she was not interviewed because they said the ds 160 code and appointment code does not correspond. They said she should have updated her profile with the new ds 160 code 72 hours before her appointment but she never knew she had to do that. Now she needs to buy another visa fee
