I went through the last 25 or so stakes that mrbanks posted on his telegram group on stake.com. He won only one which was 2 odds.

There's no way on earth that guys bets those things he posts and stays in profit. Contrary to popular belief here, one win will not wipe the losses he would have accumulated.

I don't think he has quite told us how he actually makes money. It's certainly not from the betslips he posts.

Anyone who understands how probability works knows this is the most likely outcome.

Those betting companies arent stupid and you arent going to win the house. A lot of factoring goes into what you guys call odds

Even their programming guys who've spent years trying to tilt outcomes will still advise you against it.

Now is there the off chance that you may get lucky, Yes! and this is the only reason why you should do it. Just like dem 2dollars lotto/powerballs and co, You do it and dont bank on it and just hope on luck

Seeing as most people have become fully reliant on it and think its the way out, Its not looking good. Infact these sort of people are likely to come back and still lose it to the betting companies if they ever get lucky

Which is different from what is obtainable here and something that can be mirrored in Nigeria. Betting companies set limits on how much you can wager on a prop and that invariably affects to a reasonable extent, how much you can cash out. How and why is anyone allowed to wager millions in Nigeria?

Think its the same thing if you think about it.

You arent going to bet an amount greater than the cashout, So whats the point.

But you can deposit more and have different bets running at the same time

So a billionaire shouldn't be permitted to bet millions, but someone that has never seen 500K sitting in their account should be allowed to bet their last 10K?

I'm sure if Nigeria is ready to regulate the betting industry they'd do so, there's tons of countries out there with betting industries, they can easily copy and tweak their regulation standards, they should just do it right and not move like an Islamic republic would...there needs be regulation, but it has to be done right.

Bokku bread is rubbish, it barely stays longer than a day, and it feels too sugary in the mouth. Their prices on general commodities are crazy though, like I wonder how they manage to sell their stuffs as cheaply as they do...their prices are on the average at least 10% cheaper than their closest competing price.

That's why I always smile knowingly when I see people post " Ekitipikin has won another 50m, his winnings cancel out his losses. ..:. "

Sports Betting is something I've played very well in the hey days of nairabet, 1960bet, surebet , merrybet and dem Bet Colony . Sports betting na just pure luck no matter how good a punter u may claim to be . U are always at the mercy of different factors that will decide the eventual outcome of the event u bet on(since u are not participating in the event urself physically)

U will win some and lose some but there are higher chances that u will lose more. People actually lose more than they win ; that's why betting companies are still in existence .

Anybody that wants to make a living out of betting will only end in penury . Some of those celebrity punters have gigs they do on the side that fetches them money which they stake with . That's why anybody who stakes and wins big is not advised to start looking for how to win another big money before the money runs out; instead he should set something up first for himself before any other thing

Which is why in thinking they are smart but in the long run they are also losing. Typical of the Nigerian cutting corners environment

In your example, The amount of time they take to sell at such exorbitant profits could still be equalized if they were selling in bits at the expected premiums

Plus they would not be losing the goodwill they currently are.

Nigeria is very underdeveloped. While organized retailing controls the major roads, these small scale retailers rule in the hoods.

So they are not losing much because majority of them sell at the same price and customers have little choice than to patronise them.

Like I said, Information asymmetry really is the problem.

People really need to take matters into their own hands and force the retailers hand.

Maybe walk/drive into the pure water factory and buy a number of bags yourself. Start doing most grocery shopping at recognized malls.

Isnt it the same Nigeria where people queue at NNPC just for as little as a difference of N5 per liter?. The retailers cant be stupid enough to not adjust the moment they start feeling the impact in terms of patronage

In my area here, we have factory trucks that going around selling to those retailers and even consumers directly. That's how I know the factory price of pure water because we mostly buy directly from factory.

Middlemen scourge is real in this country.

Fair point

But ultimately you cant give what you don't have - The buyers in this case. If you increase the price of a product astronomically, for sure your sales would also take a hit.

So its still a loose-loose position for both buyers and sellers

If a betting company sets $100 as the highest (limit) amount for a prop, I can not wager $101, even if I have it because it will be declined. Without the limit set at $100, I could wager $1000 on that prop and if I win, it increases my cash out. Simply put, everyone is held to the same limit, irrespective of your pocket. That is the way the companies regulate what you can wager.

That means a billionaire can approach a sports player, lesser know players like the case bribe him on a prop that is individual to one of his stat and cash out big time....

How is that fair across board?

Actually, there are limits (amount varies) and the betting industry is heavily monitored/ regulated by the government. Outside of daily limits, Betting companies report unusual bets/ props and investigations are swift. Infact, there is a case being investigated currently that involves an NBA player. Also, sports betting is illegal in some States like Texas, California, Alaska and a few others.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/jontay-porter-gambling-investigation-explained-what-we-know-as-nba-looks-into-prop-bet-irregularities/

Zero regulation here.

Theres a thread I saw on Twitter last year or so about a guy that won 100m on 1xbet. The bookie voided his winnings, said the ticket was accepted in error by their operator and close down the guy account.

1xbet is a scam trended on Twitter during that period. What did National Lottery Commission do? NOTHING.

Just grease some palms here and there and you can almost get away with anything here in Nigeria.

Na the people wan impoverish themselves jare . I don't think there's any rule in the western world that places a limit on how much an individual can stake ( correct me if I'm wrong ).

It's the people that should give themselves brain na

I believe that and can make that statement as well but recently I am starting to see that some things are not just ordinary they are ingrained in some people

E.g some people have addiction personalities and are prone to get addicted to certain things

All of us don smoke drink watch porn, bet at some point in our lives and moved on but some people will just turn it into full time profession and get addicted
To the extent that they start acting like their lives depend on it. Any small change they get they go spend on the addiction because it releases dopamine into their system and make them feel good for that time

Some of these addictions might just be as a result of chemical or biological composition of different people

Shebi you will hear of epl players earning 200k a week yet a gambling addict. Is it to make more money or what

Some people need help and cannot be left to their devices else they destroy totally

But I also understand that Nigeria has many more pressing demands than to care for people like this so na the family go figure that out

Quick question, Is there a limit on cash out here?

Cos if there isnt, then its almost the same to me. Think about it, there's no way you can bet an amount greater than your cash out on a single slip

Except i'm missing something most odds start at 1 right?
