Can you explain more please?

There are so many differences but a major one is that Gambling doesn’t have odds like betting does.

While it requires some skill, strategy, it is mostly luck. Betting has set odds, you have an idea of what u are getting into. You are able to research based on available information on a prop before placing a bet.

With gambling, you have no idea which card you are picking (except you are cheating/ using marked cards) if you were playing “Whot” for instance, neither do you know what the guy sitting across from you has in his hands.. Another example of gambling are slot machines.

Also, with betting there is some sort of agreement between you the bettor and the betting company. In gambling nothing like that exists, you just have rules.

I hope this helps

Driver is a luxury most people won't use because they prefer to flex their car themselves but domestic staff plenty die, in those villages and towns families will even drop their kids with you for free as long as they get fed and educated just to live with you from church mosque and community. In those places paying 10k for housemaid is even considered wastage.

Drivers are only for retirees in those type of towns and it's not hard to get people who will do it in exchange for small money or even minor favors

In a family with one car, driver is expected to drop oga at work and continue on to drop the children at school. Pick madam and the children from school etc while oga is still at work. And at the end of the day, go and bring oga from his place of work after dropping kids home. It's about functionality, not whether oga likes to flex his car himself. Oga will flex on weekends and to church on Sunday, but drivers job covers the whole family waka.

Looks like fraud full this crypto world. ⁩ imagine a market where top CEO of different big crypto companies are getting charged with corruption

fraud is inevitable

the whole point of cryptocurrency is an unregulated currency where transactions cannot be tracked

if you pay me for a service in crypto and i decide to run away with your money - you have no options for redress

if you have money in crypto and i steal it, you have no option for redress

if i pay you for a service in crypto, there is no record of it ans do i cant be taxed

grin grin that's why fraud is too much there.

Traders cheat

CEO launder money, steal money

Scammers create fake coins and vanish with people's money

I still haven't seen anything to criticise Tinubu on except corruption which is a fact of life in Nigeria. All steps he's taken have been from the neoclassical textbook and required bravery which I don't think any other President would have. The man is really a free market capitalist. Unfortunately shock therapy is shock therapy and Nigerians must cash the structural adjustment cheque they have been writing for the last 15 years.

Ibime:
As concerns our current hardship, Tinubu go inevitably suffer the anger of the people. I'm 100% certain he knew what he was walking into and the sapa that will be unleashed and I believe he is ready to take the flack. I don't share the same anger as people directly impacted by the current inflation, I'm sure I would in their situation. But I think Tinubu and Cardoso are taking steps I would expect, albeit too late for Nigeria and akin to putting a plaster over a gaping wound.

Examples are clearing FX backlog, auditing FX liabilities and rejecting fraudulent submissions, CBN oversight over NNPC remittances, and increasing our bpd production with the return of security contracts to Tompolo. Nigeria has lost 30-40% of it's production in the last decade, and more importantly so, lost a good portion of its onshore production which produces more favourable income sharing than offshore where the oil companies take more % due to the complexity and cost of deep sea drilling. I would also now expect a restructuring of all of Nigerias loans to more favourable long term loans. None of these would balance the Naira sufficiently but at least someone is doing something unlike Buhari and Emefiele who buried their head in the sand and passed the problem on.

Abeg anybody don try this renewed hope passport process, does it work as fast as us advertised?

Normally use those agents to run passport, and it takes like a month or so, want to know if it's something I can do personally and get it quickly, or will I have to use agent and get it quickly (renewed hope quick).

I know Otedola is their majority shareholder, but First Bank is becoming even more useless. The Bank is just happy to stick to their "old generation Bank" tag without any innovation, 10k withdrawal only when we are not in a time of naira scarcity.

Juju punter on twitter wins way more than he loses. He mostly play single or 2 game bets and has more than 80% win rate. He only stakes on Betano.

For him to be making profit, he will need to be staking really high and by doing so he's exposing himself to more risk sef .

Anyways most people who bet hardly follow that model

Zero regulation here.

Theres a thread I saw on Twitter last year or so about a guy that won 100m on 1xbet. The bookie voided his winnings, said the ticket was accepted in error by their operator and close down the guy account.

1xbet is a scam trended on Twitter during that period. What did National Lottery Commission do? NOTHING.

Just grease some palms here and there and you can almost get away with anything here in Nigeria.

Hello! We understand your worries, especially when you hear cases where winnings were not paid out. 1xbet operates under a license and is verified by the relevant authorities. Therefore, our company cannot be called fraudulent, since we operate within the legal framework.

We have hundreds of thousands of clients and pay out winnings. But there are situations when players try to cheat using schemes prohibited by the rules of the bookmaker, such situations are checked separately and if the player really cheated, then measures are taken. Read the rules and play honestly for your own pleasure.

Our task is to provide the most convenient platform for relaxation, games and excitement.

Meanwhile his biggest rival (just joking) Mr Banks won 37k Dollars on Stake yesterday
That's close to 400million won in 2024 alone. That guy is a cheat code.

I believe that and can make that statement as well but recently I am starting to see that some things are not just ordinary they are ingrained in some people

E.g some people have addiction personalities and are prone to get addicted to certain things

All of us don smoke drink watch porn, bet at some point in our lives and moved on but some people will just turn it into full time profession and get addicted
To the extent that they start acting like their lives depend on it. Any small change they get they go spend on the addiction because it releases dopamine into their system and make them feel good for that time

Some of these addictions might just be as a result of chemical or biological composition of different people

Shebi you will hear of epl players earning 200k a week yet a gambling addict. Is it to make more money or what

Some people need help and cannot be left to their devices else they destroy totally

But I also understand that Nigeria has many more pressing demands than to care for people like this so na the family go figure that out

The bold is the koko. Nigeria has a myriad of challenges and nobody will bat an eyelid if an adult chose to gamble away his income. The fact that the two major religions frown at betting/gambling ; even some cultures like Yoruba culture also frown at it is enough warning to anybody na.

U know Yoruba have sayings like " Oni tete ma pada te ni " ( a gambler will end up in shame/penury)

U wrote 4 paragraphs that ended up not address the particular case he referenced to. How can u accept a bet and later turn back to claim u accepted the bet in error ?

Isn't fraudulent that u close down the person's account when the initial "error " was from your end ? How is that transparency ? Is that how to do a legal business ?

10 fold ke. Something like 30 fold. I am certain the guy hasn't played bets up to 300milion in his entire betting career. Add that 400miillion to his overall winnings over the last 3 to 4 years and it's getting close to 800million if not more. When he starts losing again they will still drag him grin

it's possible bro.

I don't follow Mr Banks. He bet games so randomly. He stakes game on Stake, sporty, paripesa And several others. Anyone following him is likely to get wreck Sha. But I know he is making gains. Last year he smashed 400k dollars on stake, it made news then.

https://twitter.com/PulseSportsNG/status/1716174135284420896?t=E-Se8-WVxoN4J8wm4UXryg&s=19

As for mayor, that one is making money. He has already used majority of his winning to establish several biz in Abuja.

Mr Banks himself have eaten up to 1billion in Naira from last year till now. Some people were now asking Mayor to move to stakes to earn more but he refused grin
