Movies I watched this week -

Nymphomaniac - 7/10 - I was curious about watching NC-17 and X rated movies that are artforms but not porn and this movies stands out above every thing else. Better than Showgirls in my opinion. It is about a nymphomaniac and her sexcapades. Apart from all the many sex scenes where we could see her sucking stuff without blurring anything. It is just like porm but with a story. Mia Goth, Uma Thurman and the Dune guy is even in this movie. Nuts!

I still preview am few weeks ago but the length na die.

Downloaded one Indian movie then found them speaking English (dub) i deleted it with the speed of light. Nonsense

I enjoyed Kick Ass 1 more than its sequel - because of Mark Strong.

I dey always wait, no matter the duration. Had that experience when I watched Black Panther in camrip, felt it was a bad movie but after I saw it on a clearer copy I swore never to go near anything low quality.

And I believe most of the silly reviews people drop here are cuz of the low quality they download and they'll say the film no make sense meanwhile na the yeye sh!t them download dey deceive them.

You're so right. I watched the first iron man on dvd cam rip. It was horrible. I wondered why there was so much noise about it. I then got a clear copy and that was the end of low quality video for me.

Lol, I remember watching MAN OF STEEL in camrip quality on one of those alaba dvd disks. Omo, it was shite. Until I rewatched the movie years back that's when I knew first hand how picture quality impact one's enjoyment of a film or TV show.

Now, I don't mind waiting 3-4 months for it if I can't see it in cinemas.

Like!!. He didn't even give the normal 45 days gap between Theatrical release and VOD, and this is arguably thier biggest title this film year. Totally absurd if true.

They are like the most reliable source for VOD release dates and they are hardly ever wrong. Infact, they were the first outlet to announce "The Killers of the Flower Moon" VOD release date last year and people doubted them, and it turned out to be true.

So them announcing this, when WB even has a contractual 45 day after cinematic release clause, on the 31st of March, screams April fool to me!.

i am totally in my French Cinema era atm and this was among the ones, right on top of my library.

This riveting French courtroom drama centers around two women in a twisted moral quandary, setting the stage for a gripping exploration of humanity's darkest depths.

Enters Laurence Coly, totally disillusioned with life and facing a seemingly eternal cycle of uncertainties and sadness, who stands accused of murdering her 15 month old Child, an act she thinks, it's "mercy", but to the all white judicial panel, with obvious residual racial undertones, are convinced it's borders on stark insanity.

Enters Rama, a writer, observing the court case as an inspiration for her next book whilst being pregnant herself and facing similar uncertainties about life, thinking Laurence Coly might actually not be mad at all!.

For a plot based on an upsetting true life story, this was in stark contrast, cathartically beautiful to watch, no thanks to the extremely well layered acting and characters that provides multiple interpretation and dimension to the subject matter that made the whole thing so realistic and compelling to digest, and of focus, the french language is in the top 10, best language for a dialogue, so this was obviously more seasoning to an already good meal.

The film seems to ask more questions than it provides clear cut answers...but at the end...the answers becomes pretty clear...well depending on various POV anyway.

8/10.
