No. Ibragimov up till now has been more of an AM/LW. Wheatley is a classical target man CF. Also, Wheatley is bigger and stronger than him right now and far more ready for Under 21, which he has played a few times already.

Ibragimov at Under-18 has played less than 90 minutes, and even though he showed glimpses of his talent i don't think he dominated enough to throw him in Under-21. You also have to remember that he is just returning from long-term injury. Scanlon at AM, Missin and Williams at LW should be the ones getting those Under-21 minutes now, not because they have more talent but because they are older and more mature at this time.

I saw it happen with Shoretire, and i actually complained about it here back then. That is why i am concerned.

It would make better sense to promote Wheatley to the U-21s and get Ibrahimov a run of games at CF for the U-18s- if they want to groom him as a striker.

Exactly. Wheatley has outgrown Under-18. What he did to those Liverpool defenders was a crime against womanity.

Yeah. There’s still time for him to grow. They just have to get the diet right.

A lot of the U-18s have been training with the first team for a while. Amass as well.

I have seen Tyler Fletcher play a few times. Mainly subs and I think one start.
I think he is stronger and faster than Jack, but not as skilled in dribbling, passing, vision. That’s probably why he is the one playing CDM.
The good thing is they use different feet so they can’t be mixed up.

We don’t know, maybe he’ll (Tyler) be the one to make it here. Remember the da Silva twins? We thought Fabio would be the one to make it but it ended up being Rafael.

We ought to lessen how strong the emphasis we place on physicality for the youth players and be more patient and helpful to the technical ones. I know I’ve said this before but we really need to do this because the level of technicality at the senior level is quite poor.

I can say we play ultra defensive and bring out a picture in which all our players are camped in the box at the moment to push the agenda.

Btw, Ten Hag was heavily grilled by the Dutch media in his earlier years at Ajax mostly because of the transition aspect he was adding to their football. They all ended up shutting up though.

It is only for the last few weeks of the season, and the guy played 90 mins every week for so many months this season already. Next season he will step up fully to the Ubder-21s and get enough minutes.
