The price of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, has recently dropped from N640 and N660 per litre, as seen a few weeks ago, to N620 per litre in certain locations across Lagos state. This decrease corresponds with a significant appreciation of the Naira. APC will be considered to have made fuel cheap in Nigeria if APC reduces the price below ₦150 per litre, just as Naira will be considered appreciated when it is less than 216 per dollar. If fuel price becomes ₦200 or ₦150 per litre in Nigeria under APC, saying that APC has made fuel cheap will be wrong. I say this because fuel price was below ₦150 per litre in the year 2015 when APC said the price was too high. 6 Likes |
