90k for a 250W mono solar panel
18k for a 30A Pwm solar charge controller
130k for a 100ah 12v gel battery
100k for a 1kva inverter

It's possible, though not an optimal setup. But it will serve till you're ready to upgrade.
I no go lie, that's expensive

Those are hybrid inverters

Yes, but not all hybrid of inverter and charge controllers can bypass the battery, to give you power in daytime.

Hmmm!

This is going to be a recipe for disaster.

One 250w solar panel at Isc of about 7A on a PWM charge controller will never take that battery to a full Bulk charge of 14.4V.

My guy will definitely have issues in less than 3 months after installation because the battery will sulphate from undercharging.

I will advise op get more funds and set-up something that will be worth the effort. An MPPT charge controller will be most appropriate because of its efficiency.
He will need about 2-3 additional panels for faster charging.

My guy, just invest the 350k and do a good job later.
You are not ready yet

you are talking rubbish. I had a setup with one 150kw solar panel 200 amp hour battery and 500 watt inverter and it worked perfectly the trick is to also connect it to main electricity supply so it’s powered by Nepa when there is light

I'm curious to know how you connected 6 x 150W solar panels to a 12v battery without surpassing the power setting for 12v on a PWM charge controller?

That's why he used a 60A charge controller. At max of 8 amps per panel, in parallel, they add up to 48A. But those 150w panels should be like 5 Amps each.

Good day guys,

I have 350k set aside for solar installation, and I intend to use it for 2 laptops, 2 Fans and my gadgets. That's all. I don't mind just a solar panel and one battery.

Kindly advise me if this is feasible. If yes, Where can I get this stuff. Thanks.

2 180 watts solar panel 120k.
1000 watts sachet inverter charger 70k
Or 500w inverter with automatic change over ups inverter 80k.
30 amps with amps display PWM solar controller 12v to 48v 20k
100ah gel battery 140k

Budget 400k to 450k i will get you this with installation fee,
Note:nepa light can also charge the battery

Please how does a solar generator work?
Blaze14k:
That amount is too little unless you want to purchase solar generator. A good solar generator could cost you about 550k without panel. We also have solar gen of about 300k with panel that will last couple of hours when fully charged. But if you intend buying an invert it will cost you more,, let's say about 900k or more.

What if I buy the one with higher power (over 1000wh)?
Can't it power a fridge of 200w-250w?

For solar solution to refrigeration. The best solution starts with buying the refrigerator. Do not use you AC refrigerator.

So you buy a solar refrigerator with DC 12v or 24 v compressor. You can also buy a just the DC compressor and replace that of an existing AC fridge. Preferably an old one in your house.

Depending on size, Powering a DC Refrigerator requires 1 or 2 300 W panels, and 1 car battery for 12v or 2 for 24v. You do not need a solar charge controller or inverter. Just connect the solar panels to the car battery which acts as an accumulator to smoothen power variations. The connect the DC compressor to the car battery. The refrigerator will cool in daytime, and defrost at night, everyday which is enough to secure anything you have inside.

Obviouslyblunt:
laptop depending on the type has a capacity of 90w. Now if it is a power hungry pc it can go up to 150 to 200watts. He mentioned using Fan with it, let’s say it’s a standing fan of 40watts or a ceiling fan of 100watts, 2pieaces of 200ahs will give him about 14 hours of use. We know for a fact he will be charging phones and using bulbs, now add the power the inverter itself draws while on. 1 pieces of 100ah battery will be painful for him.

Na old school laptop e dey use?

You will realized I analyzed the wattage

Moreso, I mentioned DC fan which is 10watt

Even on Nepa, nobody use high wattage appliances to cut down bills

The battery is inbuilt, just fix your solar panel to recieve sunlight, and u r good to go.

Mind you, I only use it for TV, my phones, a laptop and a fan. Its last up to 5-6 hours after full charge
