I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to my journey towards obtaining my U.S. visa. The knowledge I gained from various sources, including here, has been invaluable in preparing for my application.

Last November, I successfully completed my interview and was granted a B1/B2 visa. Today marks 60 days since I arrived in the United States, and I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the moderators and individuals who generously share their knowledge, both at home in Nigeria and abroad. You are the true frontliners in our quest for information and support.

In light of my positive experience, I am eager to pay it forward by offering assistance and answering questions about the visa application process, from preparation to the interview stage. Feel free to reach out by quoting or replying me, and I’ll do my best to help!
So you don’t want to return back to your Nigeria? Don’t violate that visa terms.

Thank you so much for this detailed description however I couldn’t change the passport #, i wasn’t able to clear it.
I have updated her CGI with her new DS160 number and saved it

Hey 🤠

1. Email the embassy via the feedback option after login to Mama's cgi profile... telling them to update her new passport number . This is like awareness, they will reply within 2 days. If they respond positively , you will have to reprint the visa appointment letter again so that it will reflects the new passport number .

2. She can as well attend her interview with both old and new passports. The new passport is as good as the old one because it carries the old passport number as well. The new passport continues the work of the old passport .

Best Wishes 🙏

I got this early this morning. My appointment was suppose to be on the 6th of next month. Now it’s shifted to November. I have waited more than 8 months already.

Who knows what I can do about this.

Hey 🤠

1. It's been stipulated in the message. Your only life-line is to apply for the emergency appointment and you must do that before your initial MRV purchase exceed 1 year .

2. If you book an appointment on B2 Tourism & Visit (pleasure) the possibility of the embassy to keep tossing your appointment around is very high. They see you as going for fun and ordinary sight seeing and you can always do that anytime in your lifetime .

3. They are attending to those on B1 (Visitors for Business) visa appointments and B2 (medical visit). ** You have to align your appointment into any of these.

Best Wishes 🙏

I saw this on a forum and thought to share here.....

I used fake documents for a USA F1 visa. I faced legal punishments, and now I am clean. Can I apply for a visa again with all original documents?

You can apply but you will be refused. Once you commit misrepresentation (aka “lying”) to US immigration officials, you are banned for life from the United States. No one will stop you from applying but do not confuse the ability to apply with a presumption of approval. USCIS will happily take your money and the US consular officer will deny your application and see you sent on your way poorer in time and money.

You are finished with regard to the United States. You’re never coming back here. Waivers of inadmissibility are rarely granted and you’d be looking at a timeframe of decades to prove you’re not going to just lie again in the future.

Welcome to the world of consequences for actions. You’re about to learn that immigration violations are a “one strike and you’re out” type of thing with virtually no second chances. Handing over fake documents means you’ve earned your ban good and hard. Enjoy it. Oh, and write off Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand too. Lying to the USA is equivalent of lying to them too and they’ll deny you a visa for the exact same reason.

B1/B2 is a non-immigrant visa. I know Nigeria is a tough country and many want to leave, but why tell lies? It must be tough being a Visa Officer, not being able to tell genuine visitors from immigration-risk applicants. If you really have no plans to return as a "visitor", then know that it is the likes of you that give us a bad name.

I actually wonder why Visa Officers still give these visas (many times easily), when all the signs are there that the person does not intend to come back. And you come here boldly thanking people for helping you try to cheat a system?

If you plan to come back, forgive me for my ranting.

If you don't plan to come back, and you plan to violate the conditions of your visa, then shame on you!

Hello guys,

Please has anyone had a recent experience with getting a 221g form while doing Interview Waiver and being asked to schedule a follow up physical interview? Do you have any advice on the process?

Thank you

Hey 🤠

1. Many International Graduate Students ( not UK citizens because UK citizens can visit USA on ESTA for 90 days) like you in the UK have successfully tricked the USA consulars (in the past) that they just wanted to go and enjoy just two weeks vacation in the USA and never returned back to their studies .

2. By this very fact, the only vacation or visits that will sound reasonable to the new-era USA consulars in the UK is the one that is related to your present studies in the UK. ** Any other reason aside this is a gamble because your only tie to the UK is your Msc education . PhD would have carried higher reputation.

3.

*** Go and pay the MRV (visa fee) for B2.
*** Create CGI Profile & Fill DS 160 form
**** Provide USA accomodation evidence. **** Present your UK school identifications, evidence of school fees payment , evidence of housing, and perhaps a letter from your HOD assenting to your short visit and return on your present school letter headed sheet to the USA consular when attending your visa interview.

It depends on the reason for the 221g.

1. Did you fail to use your last visa?
2. Did you overstay previously?

Congratulations bro.
I have an interview by September for a B1/B2 visa.
Now these are my questions -
- how do I do a hotel reservation that the embassy can confirm without payment.

- how do I reserve a flight ticket without payment that can still be valid and confirmable by September if I do it now.
The one I did last year when I picked a date has expired after 1 month paying $10.
- I want to make some changes in by DS-160 form. Can I rectify the form without making another paymemt or date?

I have a pressing issue on my neck right now.

1.) I paid and registered for B1/B2 Visa in 2022.
2.) I filled my normal details initially
3.) Along the line my cousin sister a citizen now volunteered to offer my an IV and that I should also use her dad who is presently sick in the USA as an excuse to visit.
4.) I agreed, with her directives I reacquired a new NPC birth certificate to show her dad's name, and also did the same on my marriage certificate.
5.) My interview is just on the 22nd (4 days)
6.) Few weeks ago i edited my DS 106 form and changed my dad name to her name dad's name, plus other things changed.
7.) For record purposes I originally used her details as a USA citizen to fill my contact and host person.
8.) Our plan is that I will be coming with her IV on the basis of her forthcoming birthday and another doctor's report recommending I visit so as to pay our dad (her dad) a visit.
9.) Meanwhile, I have done all necessary printing; bank statements, leave approved, employment letter, salary slip, birthday program card etc

10.) Now the problem is this: she is finding fault in most of the things I printed and from my observations, she is not wanting to send me the promised invitation letter and doctor's report as planned.

NOW WHAT DO I DO?

Can you give an update? How did it go?

Not necessary no one is checking those reservations (flight & hotel).
For the ds160 fill a fresh one call the contact centre to update the new number on your profile.

Good morning house

1. When you are asked how much do you have for this trip, should I give figure in USD or Naira.

2. Is the response below okay for purpose of visit:
I am going to US on invitation to attend the 10th annual convention of XYZ Union holding in New Jersey from 10 to 12 June 2024

1. Either way is fine but USD is better.

2. Yup! That's the real purpose of your trip. Hopefully you didn't just choose a random conference. Make sure it is very relevant to your career.

** @babyfaiz

1. He dare not answer the question . You want him to come and tell us that a Nigerian who got 5 years for B1/B2 (as adjudicated for all Nigerians) in Abuja or Lagos embassy will now go to India and get 10 years B1/B2 (as adjudicated for Indians) ?

2. F1, B1/B2 , H-1B , K1 etc which applies to a Nigerian in Abuja or Lagos will also applies to him or her if he or she travels to Canada , Australia , Cotonou, Ghana , etc .

3. @babyfaiz. If we get 5 years in Nigeria, then you as a Nigerian in the UK will get same 5 years . Your friend who is a Nigerian and living in Japan will get same 5 years . Their hands soft for London na because you followed the visa rules or probably God just answered your prayers .

Good day Nairalanders and US visa gurus. My elderly colleague made a mistake in his passport number on the appointment portal, but not on the application form. Will he be allowed to submit to dropox? The Passport number space is locked for editing and the appointment is next week. KIndly advise

PS: The names and passport number are also correct on the bank payment receipt.
