Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Many International Graduate Students ( not UK citizens because UK citizens can visit USA on ESTA for 90 days) like you in the UK have successfully tricked the USA consulars (in the past) that they just wanted to go and enjoy just two weeks vacation in the USA and never returned back to their studies .

2. By this very fact, the only vacation or visits that will sound reasonable to the new-era USA consulars in the UK is the one that is related to your present studies in the UK. ** Any other reason aside this is a gamble because your only tie to the UK is your Msc education . PhD would have carried higher reputation.

3.

*** Go and pay the MRV (visa fee) for B2.
*** Create CGI Profile & Fill DS 160 form
**** Provide USA accomodation evidence. **** Present your UK school identifications, evidence of school fees payment , evidence of housing, and perhaps a letter from your HOD assenting to your short visit and return on your present school letter headed sheet to the USA consular when attending your visa interview.

Good day Nairalanders and US visa gurus. My elderly colleague made a mistake in his passport number on the appointment portal, but not on the application form. Will he be allowed to submit to dropox? The Passport number space is locked for editing and the appointment is next week. KIndly advise

PS: The names and passport number are also correct on the bank payment receipt.

He should call the embassy ASAP!! Tomorrow morning 9am.

Hello guys,

Please has anyone had a recent experience with getting a 221g form while doing Interview Waiver and being asked to schedule a follow up physical interview? Do you have any advice on the process?

Thank you

Make sure you go to the 221g interviews with details of your last trip. Where you stayed, why you stayed that long etc.

And also proofs that you can sponsor your next trip.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. It's not a costly or grave error . Typo-error is acceptable and understandable in all organizations of the world .

2. Don't rush to call the embassy. Naturally your visa application is being processed and tracked via your (elderly colleague) DS -160 which your colleague filled correctly . His MRV is also in tandem with his passport number .

3. Just email the embassy via the Feedback Option on his CGI portal . He should go ahead and submit , they will accept his application and the mistake won't count on his visa outcome.

Please the fastest way to get a response is to call. They will change it while you are on the phone with them. I called them over this issue this week and they attended to it while we were talking. They might request a bio data page just to be on the safe side. He can then mail support and a case number will be assigned to the profile. Mail takes at least two days.

I may be wrong, but I think what matters is that the correct information is on the DS-160. The appointment portal shouldn't matter. In any case, you could also use the "feedback button" to send a note to CGI (see screenshot below). That way there is a record that you alerted them.

A phone call is always faster and more hands-on than an email.
A different passport number from a DS160 Application and/or MRV will not be processed. For all intent and purposes, the VO is supposed to deal with it that something sinister may be afoot. No VO will knowingly become liable for a variance in something that important.
That 'wrong' passport number is real and belongs to someone else who may be on an FBI Watchlist or in UK or Russia or Afghanistan or even waiting on his/her interview appointment at USinNigeria too.

The best and quickest way to make changes to your profile is by calling the relevant support team. It's done in real-time, and you can get your matter resolved quickly while on the call. Keep in mind that the best option may vary depending on the situation, so it's essential to let people explore their options. Encourage them to call, as it's a hassle-free option, and there's even a free call option available. Let people make the necessary changes by calling.
Embassy issues are time bound let them explore the quickest option.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. You are not wrong and i am not wrong. The OP wrote that the visa form (DS -160) was filled with the correct passport number , the MRV (Visa fee payment receipt) also carries same correct passport number , thereby an error in the CGI profile passport number will not count (too) much as its being exaggerated.

2. The moment you created CGI profile and submitted DS 160 , the USA embassy will start following your DS 160 data base. They knows you can do mistake , hence they use ONLY your DS 160 information and your physical passport to create your visa and database.

3. Disregard other noises. You and i have related the directive to the OP. He can call , he can send message via feedback . If both options did not work or the embassy does not respond , he will still submit his application successfully without issue. The embassy will naturally follow DS 160 and MRV (Physical Travel P) info.

Thank you for sharing and congratulations.

Trying to fit my head around some things in your story:

- You applied to study. Did you study?
- What language were you speaking while you were there?

I want to renew my B1/B2 Visa via Interview Waiver.
Please what's the earliest date for passport submission in Abuja and Lagos?

My proposed Trip is last week of August

You are asking to get swindled if you are looking to buy a visa appointment. It is not worth it even if you can afford to buy it. Folks who have bought these appointments have had more problems than solutions. Agents have completed their DS160 forms with completely different information. Do not risk messing up your immigration history for nothing. Pay your MRV fees and select a date. You can always check periodically and you may be lucky to get a closer date.

Congratulations bro.
I have an interview by September for a B1/B2 visa.
Now these are my questions -
- how do I do a hotel reservation that the embassy can confirm without payment.

You don't get it bro.
How will I book hotel and flight just 48hours to my interview when I need the flight and hotel booking details to fill the DS-160 form far before then.
Where then will I get genuine information to fill the DS-160?

There are many hotels that offer free cancellation policies. Do not prepay for anything as visa approval is discretionary.

I understand that the process of filling out the DS 160 form can be confusing and overwhelming. It's important to note that you don't need to provide flight booking details. Simply mention a tentative date of arrival. Additionally, you can book a hotel reservation that doesn't require payment and fill in the details accordingly. I hope this information helps make the process a little easier for you.

I tried not putting the flight details in the DS-160 form but the form won't save and go to the next page.
That is the problem else wouldn't have been bothered about it
