Obedients caused this particular problem. They kept mouthing off that Cardoso is using foreign reserves to shore up the naira. They got very loud so Cardoso had to deny which spooked the market .
Nigerians are their own worst enemies but guess what nigerians deserve all the hardship they get so naira can as well go to one million to one dollar. Retard nation

Why did he deny? Is it how a government behaves? Lie on issues it is handling? What if he had told the truth what would have been the consequences?

Well said.

The best thing is for this country to divide because what Obidients are doing now, others will do it if their fraudster Messiah manage to become president (which is almost impossible by the way).

The situation now is more like let the country collapse so that we can tell the people that voted for the incumbent "we told you"... This trend will never end.

Critical thinking skills is actually very rare to come bye these days grin

This is coming from an adult whose brain is supposedly fully d developed? I can't believe this.

I think that it is the responsibility of the government to know when to talk and when to be silent. It's called leadership. Not everything can be communicated to the proletariat
Many times you tell your wife about something only after the incident has passed and you've dealt with it.
Anyway nigerians need some sense so maybe we need an economic meltdown and naira at one million to one dollar get some sense.
Re: Naira Maintains Steady Falls As Speculators Scoop Dollars by scriptures01: 10:54pm On Apr 26
I have been screaming on top of my voice for months now.
naira cannot survive against the dollar. Any gain made will be artifical. Naira must find it true value against the dollar
on it's own.
Ghana redominated their current years again and then pegged their cedis 1:1 with the dollar.
fast forward few years and the cedis is now 14 cedis to a dollar.
TINUBU allow the naira find it's value naturally and stop wasting the foreign reserve.!!!!!

Obidients caused Naira fall how?
Why was Emefiele called all sorts of names and trashed for defending the Naira with dollar just like the former CBN governors before him. We say he printed money but don't mention Buhari who gave him the permission. After all that, they floated the Naira only to see the effect was disastrous partly due to fuel subsidy removal and they went to do the same thing they accused Emefiele for by using our reserve to back the Naira. Are you not supposed to ask questions if you're truly concerned about your country or is it just about ur kinsman being president? You're nothing but a bigot. You don't see how foolish this statement of yours is?
They told us backing the Naira with dollar is bad, criticized Emefiele for it and then go back to do the same thing and we weren't suppose to ask questions? All Nigerians can't become zombie cos u want ur kinsman to be president even at the detriment of your future.

You have no clue how these things work, absolutely none. Your type are those who blab about what they don't know, passing off semblance of knowledge for actual knowledge.

Association of Ban everything crew 😂. 1 South Korean won is about $0.00075, but their economy is far better than ours and that should tell you something.

If you want naira to grow in Nigeria, ban all Nigeria-based businesses from asking for payments in USD. If they won't accept naira from Nigerians, pack up and leave.

Then, criminalise and punish those seen with foreign currency in this country. People who are paid in foreign currency can sell their USD as digital currency and not carry the physical cash.

Unfortunately, this cannot happen here because politicians and their friends are the first set of culprits. When you see the government folks chasing Binance and AbokiFX up and down, they are just looking for ways to distract Nigerians - they know this.

And wat is wrong with defending your currency with reserves. Is Nigeria the first country to do it or are we the only ones doing it. Every opec member uses crude oil proceeds to defend their currency, intervene in forex market, so why is Nigeria different

Besides being illegal, no sensible legislator will dare suggest this in the upper or lower chamber. Their education will surely be questioned.
I’m trying to be polite. Your solution is really dumb.

This is a global world and we are not in North Korea.

You sound like one of those shouting"sell your dollars" few weeks ago. I hope you now understand that good economy is not achieved by propaganda but sound economic policies

Your response leaves me in awe. How are the Nigeria-based businesses the problem? Ever heard of Balance of Payment and understand how it works? The most interesting thing you are neglecting is the fact that even Dangote Refinery enjoying benefits from the government is importing crude oil from the US. Is he paying in Naira? Let us focus on the important things.

But voting for Tinubu was a stupid decision of you ever lived in Lagos during his tenure as governor. If not for fashola and ambode Lagos will not be what it is today. I just laugh when people say Tinubu built Lagos

Under tulumbu's government the exchange rate is making the headlines day in day out. When will agriculture, massive production of goods for export make the headlines. I thought tinubu grew the GDP of Lagos to trillions of naira. Seems he has lost his old tricks
just like Pharoah in the Bible, he was busy TAXING the living daylight out of the helpless Lagosians and ending it up in his pocket

Could someone tell me what Tinubu did in Lagos other than imposing all manner of taxes on even the cripples and beggars in the street.

Is there another Lagos or the one I am living in ?

Cardoso and his team need to rise to the occasion and checkmate the activities of speculators before we are back again to where we were before. With the way speculators are hoarding dollar maybe the CBN will request for the permission of both Central Banks America and Britain to plant bugging device on dollar and pound sterling notes so that they can effectively monitor where they are going.
